  1. i think its one of them them songs that would be good home or away, type you could get going round the ground and gettting louder and louder. Think would be class at an away game with everyone bouncing as they sing it. Are we really resorting to pinching Scotland songs? (and even Liverpool use it now) FFS man, nearly every football chant or song has been nicked or modified from another club. Aye, the amount of clubs that have re-used Blaydon Races (and in a really shit version, as well).
  2. I've always thought he's only a good manager when he has a truck load of money to spend- and he didn't have this at Mexico. City would in a better position atm if they'd of kept him, imo. He'd do pretty well with all that money.
  3. I love that 'We'll be coming down the road' one! Excellent. I agree also that E I E I O needs to be brought back- immense song.
  4. In fairness to the poor sods, they're treated like slaves. They need to relax every second night....
  5. I can see Shearer being fairly strict, like....but I cant see him being Roy Keane strict and end up turning everyone on him- he's not that type of guy. But I think he will be looking to ruffle a few feathers during his first couple of weeks at the club, just to stamp his authority on the place.
  6. Not starting Nile Ranger....
  7. Haven't seen any of your contributions elsewhere on the board. I'm curious to know what you think of everything that has transpired here as a liverpool fan. I'm quite sure you're quaking in your boots as far as the title goes. Peter Lovenkrands > Fernando Torres lyke To be honest, it seems to keep getting worse and worse for you every time I think it should get better. I can't believe you're in the relegation zone. I thought the RELEGATIONOMETER was a joke when it went up. I think NUFC fans will not tolerate negative, defence-minded football, so despite the silverware that Houllier and Benitez have brought to Liverpool, I don't think either of them would have survived at SJP, because of their style of play. The only thing Liverpool fans really care about is winning that bloody league again, and we have a huge tolerance for tedious football as long as we're getting the points. It's different here, though. I've always thought Newcastle's problems were down to rotten executive management. It's the same at Schalke just up the road: consistent underachievement relative to spending, and it's because incompetent executives hire incompetent managers who spend too much money, which would be better spent elsewhere anyway, on players who aren't good enough. (And regarding Schalke, their squad is so full of dross, you'd be mad to buy any player they want shot of, i.e. Løvenkrands.) I thought Ashley might sort that out: being a successful businessman, he'd probably know to bring in good people and let them get on with their job. It appears he's not that sophisticated, though, and he seems to have made a string of bad decisions. Still, it's hard to think of many examples of football club owners/chairmen who are paddling with all their oars in the water. Villa seems to be a very well-run club. I'm sorry, I cant agree with that. The restof your post is a good one, but not that bit, like. If we were playing direct, drab(ish) football BUT were still getting results and moving up the table/progressing in cups etc. then whoever it is managing us would be tolerated. Afterall, its results that move you up the league- not style of play. For too many years now have we had a combination of shit football and shit results. When those two mix the manager hasnt a chance. Example: Allardyce As for Shearer- Good man, Alan! Bout fucking time these buggers get a kick up the arse! They could do what they wanted under Houghton, but now things are different....thnakfully.
  8. Bout fucking time those overpaid bastards are given out to! Nice one, Al!
  9. you get the best out of Nicky Butt by getting him as far away from the first team as possible I can see Shearer using the likes of Owen, Butt and Harper as his blue chip boys. The 'steady-eddies' if you like...
  10. If I lived in Newcastle I probably would have gone to SJP to see Shearer. I'll admit that I would've gone to the Milburn reception and greet Shearer and join in with the chants, but I wouldnt act like a complete twat in front of the Sky cameras outside Shearer's Bar!
  11. Despite Llambias' bullshit, I'm still confident Shearer will be here come next August. Plus, only yesterday or so Kinnear said that it's looking increasingly unlikely he'll be involved in management next season. My god, I wish these cunts at our club could just fucking get over Joe Kinnear and move on with life!!! WHY do they have to still obsess about the man? He's a shite manager, ffs!
  12. I just cant see that happening. Although you just dont know with this club, I think it is highly unlikely Kinnear will be given the permanent role as manager. Shearer wants it, and I just dont think Kinnear is fit for the job- and he knows it.
  13. Did anyone else notice the body language of Llambias in his part of the conference? He looked dejected and, quite frankly, pissed off with Shearer. He then had the cheek to leave as Alan started! Shearer then said "Look, see what you've done- you've scared him off!" Llambias knows he wont be able to boss Shearer about and take the piss out of him....and he doesnt like it. Hopefully he'll be departing in the near future as I hate the c***.

    Owen

Does anyone else expect Shearer to build the team/system around Owen?
  15. Im getting increasingly pissed off at how Sky keep asking every PL manager on Shearer's appointment! I doubt half of them actually care!
  16. Shearer is qualified enough. Doesnt he have that UEFA Pro licence missing ,though?

Shouldn't that have been WN KER? Or W4NKER
  18. "Would you have joined any other club at this stage of the season as manager?" or something like that. Ah right, cheers. I thought Shearer went about his answers very professionally. Good to see he was calm and collective and didn't say anything stupid. Al has a good sense of humour, as well.....which I guess you need in times like these.
  19. What question was he asked where he paused for a while and then said "No."? Looked like he wasn't giving anything away about staying beyond this season. I think he just wants to focus on these crucial 8 games and then sit down with the club and see what the story is... Was funny to see him take the piss out of !

Did you rev your engine as to say "Here, gay boy, I'll race ya?"...or at least give him the finger?
