I cant believe people are wanting Shepherd back! Remember the horrors and pains of seasons such as 06/07 and 04/05! Such horrible seasons thanks to his incompetence to owning a football club. Remember how bad everyone wanted him out and how joyous everyone was to see him leave? it was great. OK, Ashley's reign is easily as bad but we dont want any of them near our club. Both gash owners. If Ashley hadnt bought Shepherd out, we would've gone into financial meltdown within weeks/months! We then would've gotten relegated BANKRUPT and under Shepherds stewardship with Allardyce. The ultimate nightmare.

There's a big difference between us and the likes of Wolves, Birmingham, Reading ect. Our revenue now is likely pretty close to matching all three of those clubs combined when they were in the Premiership. If we go down and then come back up as you suggest our outgoings would be at such a small percentage of our incomings (Championship level wages ect) that we'd have a large excess of cash to keep us in the league and push us on, something none of the other clubs you mentioned would have. And Leeds, and Leicester.

Not in general, no. But the English/British managers available at the moment aren't good enough, I agree. It's crazy isn't it really, it's actually taken less than a year. It's taken seven months to take us from the most promising position we've been in, post-Robson, to arguably the worst position the club has ever been in*. I know what you mean though. *I'm sure some of the older members would probably diminish that claim. But if we go down, and you consider the climate of the domestic game (aswell as our individual situation), there's a good chance we'll be a million miles away from anything for a long, long time. I know mate, its sickening. He managed to hire Kevin Keegan and force him out of the club within 8-9 months, hire Joe Kinnear, sell our best player and put us in the bottom 3 two points adrift with 8 games remaining. Bullshit!
