Martins. Without a doubt. Bent relies too much on confidence, and lets be honest, when you play for Newcastle United you cant afford to have fragile confidence. Alos, Oba gives us that spark; that burst of pace and can totally change a game at the toss of a hat. Bent cant do that. Oba is also better in the air (despite his size) and is generally more exciting to watch. Darren Bent is (on his day) a very good player and at times a lethal finisher, but Martins is a hero on Tyneside.....I'd hate to see him leave.

I was starting to open to the idea of maybe giving Ashley a chance, but after hearing this carry on with trying to rid Martins, I wont be settling for him staying at SJP. Disgraceful.

Well with souvenirs from European trips you obviously weren't a mackem. :colo:

Im not sure I believe this. I saw it myself and if why the hell would Ashley need to watch SSN to keep up with Newcastle's transfers when hes the bloody owner??!! Must be a piss take.

I really like Harper and I'm looking forward to see a good run of form in the coming months from the lad. Very good keeper.

I like Northern Rock.....would be a shame to see them leave us. We'll probably get some horribly cringeworthy sponsor courtesy of Mr. Ashley.... I really like our current home one....just wish we could do well in it. Totally agree.

Even though it probably doesnt have a chance in hell of happening, it'd be great to get Keane on loan for a few months. He's clearly not in their plans and would be guarenteed 1st team footy at SJP. Again, not gonna happen.....but we can dream.

Harper deserves a testimonial as well. Why dont they just call 'testimonials' 'testies'?

I cant believe the lack of respect people are showing Given on here. Very poor. From the first week of the window City were on his tail.....it was only a matter of time. Plus, he deserves much better than this club currnetly has to offer him.....whether Man City is the right club for him is up for debate but after the loyalty and consistency he's given us over the years theres no need to slate him. And anyway, it took us until Friday the 29th of January to sign anyone contracted to a club, whos to say that would've been different if Given went a couple of weeks ago? All the best Shay- A true hero.

Christ, could you imagine if that was us?!

After our draw today, this coming match is just as big as todays match......except local pride is taken out of the equation on this one. As people have pointed out, this is our last of the "easy" games before we embark on our run of fixtures which see's us host and travel to clubs all in and around the top 6 reigon. Anything else than a win here is just not an option. I think we should keep the same team as today except replace Shola or Carroll with Lovenkrands, and imo, Lua Lua should fill in for the suspended Jonas.

This. Im fucking gutted. None of this "Hes walking out on us" bollox, he was a great, great player for us down the years and was a focal point in our successful teams. A legend is what he'll always be remembered by me. He's the type of player you'd tell your children and grand children about...

Brilliantly said. I was actually about to start a thread on this I was so annoyed! They briefly skim through the team news for Newcastle and sunderland, ask Ruud fucking cunt Guillit why he left Shearer out of the derby he managed.......and then start talking about Robbie fucking Keane and Benitez!! Give me a fucking break! And now, their discussing it on 'The Last Word'!!! Our game was so much bigger and exciting than that old sack of shit! We dont pay good money to listen to Jamie Redknapp blab on about cheating Liverpool during a NEWCASTLE game! CUNTS!

Never thought I'd say it........................but I thought Enrique was brilliant today. Coloccini's a good player. Has everybody forgotten Chelsea away? He was immense that day. I wholeheartedly agree that it's taking him a bit longer to get used to the big, physical strikers, but I think he's doing ok now, and will be a much better player next season for the experience. Also, what's the point in getting on his back? Do we really want to see Cacapa in the team? I'd rather kill my parents than have Cacapa at centre-back
