  1. This is fucking shite. I dont care if its fucking Liverpool FC or Hadlow Town this performance is NOT good enough. Just awful. Theres a massive hole in the midfield for us and its actually like a training match for Liverpool. F*cking SHITE!!!
  2. Where's the punishment, we had Craig Fagend crying about the game he's missed, what about the likes of Beye who's near the end of his career, and Joey Barton who's slap bang in the middle of his. Speaking of Joey- I think he would've made a big difference today for us. Maybe instead of Nicky Butt who needs to have a rest every couple of games.
  3. He really was immense for us though. Rare to get a defender who can win a ball so slickly and consistently without having to use sheer strength or aggressive/rough tackling. IMO if he didn't have the injury problems, he'd be up there with the Baresi's and Cannavarro's in terms of being a legendary defender at all levels in the game. At the same time though, if he wasn't injury prone we'd never have signed him in the first place as he'd have gone straight to a CL elite team for silly money ala Rio Ferdinand. We were looking like becoming an elite CL team in a way, it just didn't work out for him or us. I remember genuinely thinking 'if Woodgate and Bellamy can stay fit, if Shearer keeps on scoring... who knows' when Woodgate signed. We were definitely in with a shout and maybe it's a different season but we were top with 12 games to go and Sir Bobby said 'well, if we win 12 games, we're champs, it's as simple as that'. I agree with you though, that Woodgate was a top class defender and imo as good as Ferdinand and better than Terry. Agreed. If we had of bought in another CB in and around Woody's quality, and 1 or 2 other additions to the squad, then I really do think we would've won the league. Especially with the magic and experience Sir Bobby gave us. We were a quality side. The experience and sturdieness of Shearer, Speed and Woodgate accompanied by the flair and pace of the like of Dyer, Jenas, Bellamy, Robert and Viana (Hugo wasnt quick with his legs but he was such a quality footballer). Great times which are sadly a long time away from us now.
  4. I wouldnt be surprised if Lennon and Modric played a part in todays game. Although I cant see King making the team. Such a big game today. Firstly because we so badly need the points to pull away from the bottom, and secondly because its spurs!! I f*cking HATE spurs! HOWAY THE LADS!!
  5. Stay depressed. We could be in 9 th tonight. Is that turmoil. f***s sake I said the thought of Joe as our FULL TIME manager. Not caretaker. And if you dont think the club is in turmoil, or has been, then open your f*cking eyes!
  6. It really depends what position your looking at. But anyway- Speed in legs and head, passing ability, a good temperament, aggression and vision and control with the ball.
  7. I just feel depressed when I think of having Kinnear as our full time manager. We'd be finishing mid-table....AT BEST. And then of course he'd be raiding the Championship for all these average players. Even if Joe is to somehow miraculously get us into Europe this season, I still would'nt want him for the permanent job. We did it with Roeder and look where that got us. We NEED to get a class manager in to our club once Ashley finally sells up. We couldnt of picked a worse time to plunge into turmoil and look for a buyer, could we? F*ck sake.
  8. I do hope Leeds get out of the mess they find themselves in, because although they're not everyones favorite team, its a shame to see a club like them in the duldrums. I'd like to see Ince get the job. Or wise so he can f*ck off out of our club.
  9. Very. Our game tomorrow is just so huge. Losing just simply is NOT an option.
  10. The sad thing is that the bloody government have to force ticket prices lower....but only because they have to.
  11. In fairness to Micheal, he does have quite a good first touch. But overall he may not offer us as much movement as Oba but by god is he a good striker. As people in this thread have said, his job is to score goals and he does it as good as anyone. If he'd scored today I dont think this thread would exist...
  12. I cant think of any opposition songs atm, but I remember when we went down to West Ham this year we sung to them " You stole my holiday, you stole my holiday!!"- aimed at their XL sponsor going bust!
  13. This is a great chance to take 3 points from Boro. Please, please dont f*ck this up, lads.
  14. I dont think Shearer is suited as much to the no.2 role as opposed to head coach.
  15. I dont know about Owen, tbh. Theres a good chance he'll leave but im not sure its gonna be January. Zogg will leave most propably, followed by Enrique. Those two Im guessing. We'll replace Enrique with Riise and we wont bother replacing Zoggs because Damien Duff is just so amazing. For some reason I think when Smith comes back from injury, he'll be the 2nd name (after Duff) on the teamsheet. I dunno why but I can just see Smith being a Kinnear type of player- sh*te. You just know Kinnear is gonna love Alan Smith.
  16. I'll be very disappointed to see Charlie leave tbh. He's exciting to watch and he has raw talent- something not many people in our squad have (Martins and Jonas the exceptions). To think we'd be sacrificing someone like N'Zogbia while keeping that lazy paddy c*nt Damien Duff here makes me sick. Why Duff should stay instead of Zogg is beyond me. At least Zogg runs with the ball and can beat players. At times last season he was brilliant for us (the West Ham (H) game stands out most) and he was fantastic in the 05/06 season. Shame Kinnear is such a dumb f*ck to realise that he's miles better than Duff. We've even seen it this season like against Wigan when Zogg came on and we looked much sharper. No coincidence imo.
  17. I didnt see the match today so I cant really comment- but I voted Duff to go off anyway! But it seems that Kinnear is doing this every f*cking game!!! Why??!! He did it against Wigan last week and Fulham the week before. He did it against West Brom the week before that but in fairness Jonas was short of match practice. But its got to stop. Its not fair on the team and its not fair on Jonas... Duff offers us nothing. Not going forward and not defensively. N'Zogbia is much better to watch and actually gives us and attacking outlet on the left hand side. The only reason why Duff offers decent "cover" to Enrique is because he never goes forward in the first place! Its bloody ridiculous. If anyone in our team is going to create someng from nothing then its gonna be Jonas.....with the exception of Martins. Kinnear can say we'd be left exposed if Jonas is kept on but quite frankly, that would be a load of bollox. Jonas works harder than anyone on the pitch and tracks up and down whatever wing he plays on. As people have said though, we've just got a smashing result so lets get angry later!
  18. I really hope its not a striker we sign (IF we sign). Why on earth would we want another striker? Its got to be a CM. Its got to be. We're so thin in that area....especially going forward. I guess thats where Denilson comes into the fray then. He'd be brilliant for us, imo. We'd have trouble making the move permanent but it'd be worth it. 2 CM's or a CM and a CB would do me.
  19. Agreed, Harps has to go. I really like the guy but I think its time he came to his senses and moved on to get the 1st team football he deserves. He's what- 32,33 now? Not a whole lot of time left for him. As long as Given is fit and playing Steve wont get a look in. Its been like that for the past 9 years or so and I doubt its going to change. As for Krul- I'd be gutted if he left. He's a top class keeper and we'd be letting one of our very few gems leave the club. If keeping him means sacraficing Harper then so be it. This lad could become almost as good as Given, imo.
