  1. I was thinking about this earlier. Then had a w@nk to the thought of it...
  2. I'm also warming to the idea of Shearer coming to us as well. He's our last decent role of the dice that we've got. We might as well take it. Put it this way- If Shearer becomes manager of Newcastle, we'll see celebrations like when KK first joined us. The whole city will be given a lift and so will the players. We'll be on a high and will be hard to beat, no matter who we play. Its normally the way it is anyway! A backroom staff of Carver, Lee and Clark would be fantastic imo. I hope it happens soon because I, like everyone else, am rapidly losing confidence and patience in Kinnear and his plans.

    Away Support

Just thinking about it, Sheffield Wednesday have a class support. Their home support is average but their away following is immense, imo.
  4. Id love to get Mexes. Him and Coloccini could become class together. I doubt it'll happen though. Now, I know he hasnt scored against us this season but Elano at Man City seems pretty out of favor dosnt he? I'd kill to have him for us.
  5. that may well need to be decided on in court I should've inserted "Imo"
  6. The reason Keegan left was because the only power he had at the club was picking the team. Nothing else. Whats the point in even bothering when some arrogant, cluless c*nts arent letting you do your job....especially when you know 100 Xs more about the club and the game than they do. Keegan was RIGHT to leave imo. Im pretty sure a lot of other managers would've as well. As I said, whats the point in being a 'manager' when you cant manage? There isnt. Keegan is a legend at this club- whether people like it or not. He will never be forgotten and will forever be in the Geordie hearts. The funny thing is, not only did we all fall in love with him and Newcastle, the rest of the nation did.
  7. I agree. Its really quite pointless. 3 months at least, imo. Timmy's got a great future ahead of him. Im dissappointed we havnt loaned him out on a season long loan to a Championship club i.e Nowrich. Still, if Harper leaves in the summer, I'd expect Krul to start competeing with Shay for the no.1 spot.

    Away Support

Ah in fairness its not 'pathetic'. Considering Chelsea only took about half of what the mackems took, it could be worse. A pathetic away support would be Wigan for instance. Shockingly bad. Still, we have a much better away support than sunderland.

    Away Support

Honestly, I think we have the best away following in the league. Closely followed by Man Utd. Man Utds away support is class. Always sing and have a good variety of songs....better than us anyway. Yes, they bring big numbers but with the success they have you'd sort of expect that wouldnt you? Chelsea's is absolutely sh!te! One of the worst in the league imo....considering how good they are. Villa usually have a very impressive away support, as do West Ham. How Man City fans can claim their 'the best in the world' is beyond me. Their decent, sometimes good but thats it. The mackems have a good away following. But most of them sit and they spend most of their time singing songs about us. :-[
  10. Im tired of being depressed after so many of our games this season. Im tired of going in on Monday morning and trying to deflect talk of football away from Newcastle. Im tired of seeing everyone rule themselves out of buying our club. Im tired of seeing such a big club with some great players continuously frustrate the shyte out of me every Saturday afternoon. Im tired of everything at this club at moment but Im still going to stick by the team and support them through every game till the end. Im still gonna make sure I wear my Newcastle shirt everytime we play. Like everyone else on here, I'll support the team forever but it really does test your limits as a fan. It really, really does. At times though I have thought to myself " Seriously, whats the point in bothering?", but I cant help it..... I still bother. Im hooked. But I really miss the days of being able to go out and wear your Toon shirt with pride and talk about your team with pride. I cant stand being taunted by all these gloryhunting Man utd and liverpool fans. Although, still, Id rather support Newcastle than take the easy way out and go for a sky4 team....

Its decent. I wouldnt consider it as one of the better followings who make their way to SJP, but their OK. Average numbers and decent noise. I think they brought 1,000 or so to the mackems.

Wigan brought a pathetic support to SJP today. They had a canny good following when they first came up here but its gotten worse each season. I expected much more from Villa and City fans. Even though it was a televised monday night, they brought about 2 bus loads of fans each. Shyte. As for our home support- its been brilliant this season...as usual. They only reason its dipped in numbers is because of the credit crunch and people are boycotting matches. Im impressed with this new singing section though. Seems to raise the atmosphere a bit. Agreed.

    Standing still?

Thats because Father Jack was in a f*cking electric wheelchair!!
  14. Yeah I didnt know it was coming up either.....and it is very pointless. I really couldnt care less if England win in friendlies or not. Mancienne is a strange one. Its good to see a change but as people have siad, why him instead of Woodgate or Jagielka? Doesnt make sense. As for Owen- he doesnt deserve to be in the squad. Theres no point in having a half fit player taking up a space/opportunity that someone else fitter could be taking. If Owen can get more games together consecutively, he'll start scoring goals and will then be chosen for England. If he stays fit then Im sure he'll be back in the squad.

    Standing still?

Confidence. Thats all it is imo. If you have confidence then you wont be scared to make a gamble. i.e switching the play or putting one over the top for your ongoing winger. Just an example. Our players just dont look hungry for the ball. Chelsea are a great example of people showing for the ball. Of course, having the likes of Lampard, Deco, Anelka and Malouda in your team helps, but they all have confidence in themselves and eachother. We dont have any particular playmaker or creative central midfielders. That doesnt help as well. Owen, Martins and Jonas are the only real players we have that move off the ball well. Bartons not bad either.
  16. Viana was class. He had such a good eye for a pass and his passes would just split defenses open. A dead ball specialist as well. Beautiful player imo. Shame Robert, Speed and Jenas were at the club at the same time and playing so well at the same time. Viana did get fed up in the end which probably produced his foul attitude. Hugo is just what we need now.
  17. After reading that I now feel totally dejected and have lost any little faith I had left in the club. We are royally f*cked. We've had a few dodgy seasons and flirted with relegation but I think this season will be the straw that broke the camels back....
  18. Exactly. I cant believe we only signed Lee Bowyer on a free! FFS! We were one or two pieces away from completing the puzzle. We just seemed to lack that touch of class that Man Utd had.....we were so close to them. Why we didnt invest is beyond me, its seriously cost us. If that helped us qualify for the CL again that season and we wanted let Bobby go, there would've been a whole line of top class managers wanting to manage us. But to give Graeme f*cking Souness £50m to spend instead of Bobby is just beyond belief....
  19. Although I havnt experienced the really sh!t times at NUFC like in the 80's, I've got a few pretty harsh memories being a Toon fan. I've been supporting this ever so frustrating club for about 11 years now. The worst moments I can think of are nearly all European games- Alkmaar away, Sporting away, Marsaille away and Partizan at home in the CL qualifiers. After the Partizan game I was too gutted to cry. I just couldnt believe we'd f*cked it up like that. It makes me feel sh!t thinking about it now. Sporting away was just devastating, like. 2-0 up and just hand it to them. 4 goals in the second half. 4. When I was about 7 we lost to manure in the FA Cup final. I cryed my eyes out for the whole day. Heartbreaking stuff. Also, that Sheff Utd game a few years ago that sparked the Shepherd protests really hurt. Really, really hurt for some reason. I was just so devastated after we got that amazing result a few days earlier Vs Palermo. Shattering. Non NUFC moment would have to be England losing to Argentina in 98, losing to Portugal World Cup 06 or when manscum lifted the CL against Munich. Horrible...
  20. I think thats a good call but in about 3-5 games I think we'll know a lot clearer who our relegation rivals will be. I reckon West Brom and Bolton are the weakest teams in the league. Stoke have a decent enough home record which I think will just about get them by, while West Ham will pull it together imo. They played some really good stuff today against Arsenal. But never say never... Boro will be there abouts, as they always are. Us V them might actually mean something to us this year the way things are going. Tuesday is such a big match for us. A draw would be almost as bad as a loss imo. What with Spurs catching up.
  21. Well said. I play u16's and the swearing can be pretty bad at times. When we play the 'rougher' teams, their coaches are normally worse than the players tbh. Some refs clamp down on it but not enough imo.
  22. Its hard for anyone to say whether hes good enough or not for the PL. Hes not even played 5 games for us yet. Hes scored 1 goal- on his debut- but apart from that hasnt really done anything. But whenever hes come on, we've been down a goal or two and chasing games so it is hard for him to make an impact then, and plus the fact he doesnt speak English. I cant see his career at NUFC surviving more than this season tbh. He wasnt even a target for KK. Although I think Kinnear should maybe give him a go when Shola or even Oba starts to tire. I can see Shola and Oba starting upfront for us on Tuesday though...
  23. Im not from Newcastle- Im from Kent of all places and I now live in Ireland- but todays result hurts like fuck. Its really depressing and is probably the lowest I've been for a while supporting the Toon....and we've had some low points this season already. My mood is effected just as much as the locals of Newcastle with the results of NUFC so I think it effects all supporters, local or non-local.
