  1. Sky's coverage of this is amongst the worst I've ever seen for a single derby match. When they did cover it, the pleasure and bias they took in the mackems recent record was absolutely embarrassing. No mention of what horrendous cunt was manager for the majority of those. I fucking hate Sky Sports, I really do.
  2. Hopefully Fay Sam will be as negative as them as he was with us.

not this again. After the 5-1. Wasn't their catch phrase 'we're the more classy club'? Always going on about class FFS Cultured sunderland fans?! What is this s***?! So cultured that they racially abused their best players mum a few years back and, in the same season (?), attacked our keeper after they scored a jammy last minute winner. That's but to name a couple! Without sounding like them, the majority of mackems I've encountered have been complete shitheads- especially when it comes to football, it hurts to have a conversation with them. Please, please fucking win this Sunday
  4. Just want it to be over with at this stage. The week of dread and nerves leading up to this fixture- nowadays especially- is awful. Aside from Elliot, we're actually I'm a good position going into this, but I just feel that new manager bounce and the luck they've had in recent derbys will get them a win. They always seem to want it more as well, they'll always have a massive chip on their shoulder. Our sincere negativity under Pardew amounted to one win (1-0) in 8 games against these inbreds, so we might as well go out and try for once to be positive and outplay them. We have the better players after all. Tiote and Colback simply can't play, but the chances are they will both start, with Perez---Wijnaldum---Sissoko ahead of them. Absolutely pointless pairing. Please just don't fucking lose. Just don't fucking lose to the worst team in the country, please. I can't take it anymore.
  5. My hands are sweating with nerves just reading this thread. Surely McClaren knows Allardyce inside out at this stage, as I'm sure most English managers would know each other's tendencies, and will realise that our biggest problem may come from wide areas. Pressing them up high would help prevent them getting the ball to their wingers and Full Backs and even allow us to turn the ball over in their half/third. We have the better players and team, as always, but you just can't call it. I'm expecting a loss tbh, why would we expect anything else at this stage? I just want it to be over already. I'd take a draw, but considering we haven't beaten them in so long, that would irk me. But let's be realistic, they have John O'Shea and Wes Brown vs Perez and Mitrovic.....we have a chance. Oh, and don't play Tiote (& Colback).

I just can't believe we STILL have to fear them It's absolutely horrendous like Unlike last year I think there will be goals from both teams. We basically have to go there and be very willing to impose our game on them and attack. Get Janmaat bombing forward and allow Sissoko to come inside. If needs be we can match them for directness by playing into Mitrovic, as he's a quality target man. They will be full of aggression and incredibly direct, playing balls on top of Coloccini and down the channels. We must be strong and pick up second balls quickly and avoid giving away corners and set pieces- even in their half as they will put everyone forward and all of a sudden we're defending our penalty area. Normally I would say sit in and hit them on the break, but that will invite balls launched into our area. We simply have to defend better from wide areas. Shitting it myself, but there is simply no reason why we can't win.
  7. I actually hate the Premier League. What a fucking nanny club we are. Fuck off.
  8. As long as Colback is fit he will play. It's absolutely scandalous.

Whatever your thoughts about their capabilities under him, they are going to beat us next weekend. No matter how disillusioned I become with NUFC it will always kill me losing to those odious Wankers.
  10. I really miss NUFC being what it used to
  11. I can't believe people are laughing off the prospect of Rodgers coming here As if McClaren will do any better for fuck sake. Seriously, man. The state this club is in at the moment and people wouldn't even have him in their 'top 10' of free managers...I'm on the verge of laughing to myself
  12. Lots of greedy owners. Can't justify £52 for the second rung. SECOND BEST LEAGUE IN THE WORLD!!!

Out of interest, were you full of this optimism (and insanity) when we drew 3-3 against Burnley in Carver's first home match, or beat Hull 3-0 away? I'm not saying that this is the same case, but it's not a million miles from it. I'm honestly not in the mood to go all out and try and fight the full anti-Ashley battle here, but I suppose yourself, like the vast majority of our fanbase, have their own priorities being entertainment for 90 minutes on a Saturday. Personally, I couldn't give a toss if we win or lose 4-3 or 5-6 every week, what I think of is the long term benefit of the club- the overall picture for Ashley's regime. For me I just cannot bear to give him any more money, whilst sitting in a sterile, soulless atmosphere in St James' Park, surrounded by Wonga shirts and Neo-Nazi's working as stewards, and to top it off be unable to escape from Sports Direct signage. That all to me, the latter especially, screams out that nowt is changing at the club. We have bought in some good players, but for every player we've bought, we've also let go a player- and among the exodus was Jonas and the treatment he received. The principles of the club remain. The football under Pardew was so, so, so dire that literally by us stringing more than 5 passes together becomes a major improvement in quality. I'm sure the football will be decent under McClaren, but I just don't care. I want Newcastle United back. I don't want to support Sports Direct FC. But, each to their own. I just depends what one wants from their football club- for me, it's to represent it's traditions and honor it's history, whilst treating it's people with respect. That is not what we are.
  14. Arsenal and Man Utd our next two matches after this- could be looking like a poor start. Only 3 first team signings will be brought back into focus, and rightly so, should we end up with 1 point from our first 4 matches. I'm not going to jump on McLaren's back, but playing Obertan ahead of Perez is very questionable (I don't care about his assist last week).
  15. If Mitrovic and Chancel don't play, we'll be starting this season with only 1 new player from last years squad. Absolutely unbelievable (not really).

    Steve McClaren

And anyway, aren't the best managers decisive/proactive? He's not everyone's cup of tea but his record speaks for itself. Top class.
  17. Just bought 10 after hearing the Viera link. Buzzing.
  18. Even if he does sign, we'll have to buy nearly a whole new squad of players. That's really the deciding factor of whether there is thought or a plan behind Viera. Again, I'm very sceptical of this and I don't know why you wouldn't be. The people who run our club are true scum, and should not be forgiven or allowed to stay. The attidue towards Ashley can't soften. The damage done to NUFC by him is nearly unrepairable and he should be hounded out as soon as possible- potential appointments like Viera should not distract fans from this. This attempted move will fit in perfectly with Ashley's hollow aspirations of winning a Champions League place. He knows what he's doing and people will lap it up. 'He's changed, he's changed!!', people will cry to a David Craig interview whilst in line for the new home strip. Do not trust this club.
  19. Very interesting, but as long as Ashley is here I'll never be able to fully care or be excited.
  20. In his defence, the majority of "big clubs" think this way now. Arsene Wenger has said similar to this for years. Well then let's not be as miserable as them! Totally see your point mate, but that's an incredibly dull way of looking at the game and with the new TV deal it should hopefully numb that thinking somewhat (but it wont). It was just his whole "Oh...and by the way...A trophy also means qualifying for the Champions League"
  21. The guy put qualifying for the Champions League in the same bracket as winning a trophy. This is the level of intelligence he has when it comes to football- it honestly looked like he made that up on the spot. Firstly, finish from 2nd-4th is not winning a trophy, and secondly when you consider this clubs trophy drought he is off his fucking rocker He won't change, and even if he does invest I still want him out ASAP. All that Sports Direct signage grafitied around our club. It sickens me and it's an insult to NUFC.

  23. You're a 'f***cking tool' for not entertaining the significance of Mike Ashley doing a media interview with Sky Sports, regardless of what was said. No, I realise that he's cracking under the pressure. But now a lot of fans will, along with the 'euphoria' of this victory, will lap up new shirts and season tickets etc. That's the problem, the pressure will go to waste.
