Great to see the club lamenting our poor cup record and looking to improve it, whilst talking about future ambitions of getting back into Europe, challenging for honors, and being 'back where we belong'....
-
If we stay with Carver, or bring in an equivalent, then I thin we are purely relying on other teams being worse than us. Not an impossible possibility, but teams like Burnley are better than us despite their standing. It's not going to be fun. But then again, it never is.

They don't and won't need to do anything, plenty will renew regardless of what happens.

Aye i'm sure they'll miss your support Santoon Good one, wasteman. You don't put any money towards the club. Your support has zero value. Your post is funny. What a gobshite.

Because Tiote is so much better because he flies into tackles, concedes fouls on the edge of the area and needless yellows? His distribution is absolutely no better than Anita's. Play Abeid alongside Anita to offer some physical compensation, not the passenger that is Colback. People on here also seem to neglect the point that confidence is an issue for players, also. If you were frozen out by your manager for a matter of seasons and now found yourself in the team only because another player is on International duty, whilst the system doesn't play anywhere near to your strengths, you probably wouldn't feel too great about yourself. I like him as a player, and although he's not the answer to our problems he would definitely benefit the team given a run in the team under a competent manager. It's just so frustrating reading people dismiss him because he 'can't cope with the physicality of the Premiership' etc. He is one of our better players and we are not utilising him.

You comfy up there on your high horse? I struggle to see how that is being on my high horse. I cancelled mine half way through last season, I had seen enough. That doesn't make me any better than anyone else, but for goodness sake why would you support this? No doubt you'll scoff at people buying the latest Wonga shirts in the club shop, pies and pints in Shearer's (Nine, whatever). Well, buying tickets is just as bad.

Ok Edit- And as I said, Vurn should have been ready to challenge for the second ball and he can be held accountable for that. But to say that goal was his fault is slightly depressing.

Those saying that Rangers deserve this because some of their fans (over the internet) refused to take notice of warning signs given by some of our fans- get the fuck over yourself. Who the fuck are we to wish the same torture we are currently suffering at NUFC on another club? As poor as Scottish football is, Rangers is a very historic club. But that's beside the point. In this age of modern football where clubs are constantly getting exploited and damaged beyond repair, the last thing fans need is to be divided. We all share the same common goal; to see our clubs succeed- but in the manner that clubs are having their soul torn out all for commercial and personal benefit it is destroying the game we love. Football is now all about money, competition is being eliminated in favor of a small elite funded by billionaires from the middle east, with no emphasis on community or respecting history and tradition. The football community needs to unite against exploitation of clubs, that's the only way it will stop. The game is rotting, and so are our clubs. I wouldn't even wish this sort of thing on the mackems. Supporting the demise of clubs like Rangers is supporting modern football. But suit yourself.

I just feel I am wasting my weekend - haven't enjoyed going for a while now. The current plan is to cancel - the club have two weeks to change my mind. Mate, as long as Ashley's here it will never change. Even if we sign Garde, the intentions MA has for us will remain. As long as he stays we will never go anywhere- we may finish in a Europa League spot again (which would be amazing) but we will not consolidate upon it, as it would be viewed as a failure. I would encourage everyone not to renew.

Erm...what? Dummet was right to challenge for that ball. Yes, Anita should be ready to defend the second ball. However, the backline should have dropped off deeper, especially knowing the threat of a diagonal run inside behind onto any flick on's- if we knew anything about Southampton we would know that they can go direct and cause problems with Pelle's physical and aerial presence. If Dummet or Colo steps out then the remaining back 3 have got to drop off to defend the space in behind. Anita cannot effect that. Maybe he should just drop into the back line or cover the CB challenging, but there's obviously a lack of tactical instruction and organisation there. And as for the last picture, what on earth is the matter with you? Honestly, has Vurn been texting your missus or something? Look at that back 3, it's in a staggered formation. Dummett stepped out too soon, whilst Haidara is totally ineffective. They should have retreated to the edge of the area and tried to delay it before confronting Warde-Prowse. Anita will never win headers against someone like Pelle, we should have planned for those direct balls. But we didn't. We should have got the ball into Anita more instead of hoofing it up to Ayoze vs 4 Southampton defenders, but, we didn't. Honestly, criticism and posts like above of Anita are ridiculous. He's a very good player, not world class or cutting edge, but he's capable of being a very good player for us. It'll be hard for him when Colback is worshiped by all and sundry in charge though.

Would love to see Betis back- not only for the derby but their fans put up with so much. They're your classic 'sleeping giant'.
-
Anyone who renews is completely delusional. Will only contribute to the clubs demise further.

So bored of people hanging this lad out to dry.

I don't think thats true at all. I canform that is indeed rubbish.

What the fuck is Giovinco going to Toronto for?
-
'Not to let the club drift'? Kind of happened 8 years ago.

If he was at least a decent coach it would not be so harrowing to think of. But the man still has his 1980's outlook on the game.

It's a Sporting Lisbon kit with an Plymouth Argyle crest on it

If Ashley hadn't disillusioned the older, hardcore support who know what the club is about and driven them out but had made prices affordable then we wouldn't have a problem. If the club was run with ambition and was where it should be, challenging for trophies and high up the league, then we wouldn't have the issue of passive 'fans'. It's fantastic that future generations are able to go to SJP and watch NUFC- and I will never knock anyone for making football affordable, such is the disgrace of modern football in this country, but it is almost cancelled out when you take into account what they will take away from it- an outlook totally wrong to what the club actually stands for.
-
Wow, this will do wonders for potential managers! Best player is sold and you don't even get to spend the money, fantastic!
-
SUPPORT THE TEAM MAN! CARVER'S ALREADY SAID BURNLEY RAN MORE THAN US!! GET A GRIP YA BASTAD
-
Walkouts don't do anything. People need to stop buying tickets at all. "But it's my born right to support this club and I won't let someone like him stop that"
-
Data is very useful in performance analysis, but to undermine its value looking for how far people ran just defeats the point of it (in this case). Use that data for preseason ffs. In a match you look for why and when players run- that's something data can't accurately define. Of course why would we want to look at passes failed/completed, opposition crosses, our possession in defensive and attacking 1/3....f***ing dinosaur. People like JC keep the English disease rampant in the game at the top level. Possibly the saddest thing about what he said is that a lot of our fans will lap that up and think, 'Aye, he's got the passion like, making sure people proper graft man'. f*** off.
