  1. Despite a good shift from Harper on the weekend, I hope we play Elliot tonight.

His movements always brilliant. As soon as we get the ball and face forward he's already moving, looking to peel away from his marker. Its not going to be easy for himself or Demba when we fire direct balls at them, instead of trying to thread balls through (see Hatem's jizz-tastic pass for Demba today) or from good service from the flanks. Our style of football is just so wasteful with what we have at our disposal.
  3. Think we should stick with him as an inside-forward.
  4. He was non-effective to say the least, but with our style of play in the first half its no wonder. He just had one of those nights where he just couldn't get into the game, we've all had them. I hope he starts against Norwich.
  5. I'm not getting at you mate, but in fairness the amount of long balls he played you'd bloody hope he made use of one of them.
  6. What a fucking shit football player this guy is. He cant handle the ball at his feet, so what's the point in playing him? The foundations of keeping possession start from the back, and with players like Williamson, Simpson and Harper the thought of retaining the ball and playing a passing game is a world away.

Why do we have to stand still and appreciate what we have? I think we all did that at the end of (and during) last season and in the summer. That's over now, it was great, but this is a new season and we're Newcastle United- we've got to keep fighting and striving for better and get NUFC into the position we once were in. Overall, I think that this summer was a tad underwhelming but we didn't sell and that's crucial. I still think we'll have a good season this year. Win against Everton and this thread will be forgotten (as usual).

i was looking at that. o neill could so easily be gone if we smack them I don't think they'll sack him, it'd take a lot for that. If they fail to record a win before us- and then lose- then I think the pressure will mount and that whole shit tip will endure its latest meltdown. Excellent...

James McClean is rubbish, just like the rest of their team. I was quite impressed the way Liverpool passed the ball around and you could see that the mackems just couldn't keep up with them. Mid-table fodder if I ever saw it. Also, I can't stand Martin O'Neil and the arse licking he gets from the press- he has one (old-school) formula and he applies it to every club he goes to and hopes it works i.e spending obscene amounts of money on average (at best) players from the same division. Fletchers not bad, mind. I'll be devastated if we slip up against them this season.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

No insurance on his car It's not like he can't afford it! Brilliant
  11. Not feeling too confident about this one. As long as Williamson doesn't play then we'll stand a chance.

What a plonker this guy is when it comes to set-pieces (free kicks). It's the same thing every. single. time. It doesn't work, it never has, and it never will. Please, Alan come up with something new.
  13. Thank fuck we got away with a point from that. We are fucking diabolical, man. That was absolutely atrocious stuff. Our luck with those sort of performances will run out pretty soon. We just seemed to be so overrun in midfield, Villa always had an extra man- it was like that against Spurs and Chelsea, too. Our passing (or lack of it) is painful, horrendous. I'm not knee-jerking here but it was the same against Spurs and it seriously hindered us last season. We have technically brilliant players in our team, plus two of the best strikers in the league- with the ball at their feet- yet we just persist in launching it aimlessly up to our front men and give possession away time after time after time. Not good. Ah well, early doors yet.
  14. The longer he's away from the first team the better. The guy is abysmal- I don't understand how people cant see how uncomfortable he is on the ball, or in short inept as a footballer. That was great closing down for him for the cross to Villa's go! Yeah, right... What alternative do we have, mate? Play a CM there for the rest of the season? If Anita is capable of filling in at LB then switch Santon to RB and slot Vernan in on the opposite flank. Could be slightly disruptive but neither would be worse than Simpson. Yes, we should have covered ourselves in the window, but that's another can of worms.
  15. Really wouldn't mind going for a 4-2-3-1 and putting Marv into the mix instead of maybe Jonas. Demba- Hatem- Marv; that would be a lot more fluid.

  18. What a load of fucking bollocks. Why cant we ever have two competent full backs at this club? Despite the scoreline Villa are so poor, but we're making them look so comfortable. Thank God Simpson's gone, now lets kick on and get something out of this awful game so far. Get Ben Arfa and Yohan more involved is a must.

Not worried at all about who they sign. We have a better team/squad than them and as we've seen before, no matter what they try or who they try to sign they always end up with egg on their face while we get the better of them.
