They were cramming 85 thousand into Maine Road every week in the old Second Division. Another 20k watching the game on big screens outside the ground. The fact that they can't sell out at home even though they're on the verge of winning the league and had about 5k empty seats for their first ever Champions League match is irrelevant. As is the fact they have to steal celebrations off other clubs because they're such a boring, gormless bunch of c***s.

Their support was absolutely shit until they scored- even then they hardly had Level 7 rocking. They've always had the attitude that they're the best set of fans in the world. Don't know where they get it from.

Such a chip on the shoulder mentality, that

Did anyone else seem to think the first half went on forever? Second half flew by...

After they scored their first it was always gonna be hard to get back into it, with Mancini's 'shut up shop' mentality going 5 at the back. I thought Pards did the right thing to make us more direct and more options in the box. Fergie impressed me when he came on. With Webb involved today we were never really going to get anything. What an absolute disgrace that cunt is.

Have 'Where The Streets Have No Name' blasting!! The sun is shining, the Toon is buzzing. Lets fucking smash these cunts!! CMOOOON!!

Another- when things are going brilliant for the club (i.e now for us) and you know that even if tomorrow or the rest of the week is shit, you've still got that to fall back on and make you proud and happy.

When you are singing so loud and proud after a goal that you think the roof is going to come off, when its the loudest experience of your life. Also, when your team is in dire need of a goal and you force the opposition keeper into a save that results in a corner- the collective 'fucking cmoon'/roar that follows is incredible. A lot of my other favourites have been mentioned- seeing a packed out away end go fucking nuts is right up there! In terms of playing football, the tightening of your boot laces to the perfect tightness. When you strike a ball so sweetly. That smell of freshly cut grass going to play on a summers evening. The butterflies you get in your stomach just as your about to kick off. Playing your way out of trouble and giving a nice simple pass. I could go on forever! God, I love football

Quality post. The place has to be bouncing tomorrow, all of us matching the players effort! When SJP is at its best nothing can touch it. Howay!

Good point! Think I'll wait until the European badges are available. Will look mint.

Worst I've got was Owen on two tops Others were Shearer shirts and Jonas. Think I'll get Ben Arfa on my next one, though.

I see the Liberty Stadium is on fire...

Painfully frustrating how much better we were last night without him. Frustrating in the sense that we've had a much better option all season than him but refused to use him.

For me it's about 70/30. 70 % of the big money bets I do are normally after some kind of analysing while the other part are bets that come from emotional decisions and live in-play bets. What's that they say, never bet with your heart?

I was born on that exact day so think it's fair to say I wasn't there But whenever I've seen the goal on youtube or people talk about the celebrations the hairs on my back stand up- it must have been incredible. That goal changed the direction of our history drastically!

I'm much calmer this morning than I was last night. Nothing has been won yet- Chelsea will be facing one of two very good teams in the final. For me, preferably Real Madrid. I don't think Chelsea will have the ability to contain Ronaldo, Higuain, Benzema. Even if they had a full strength side out I would highly doubt it. All we should do is take things as they come, just keep focusing on the next game and try to finish as high as possible. Things have worked out in a ridiculous way so far, but no negativity on here is justified, imo. We've been an absolute credit to ourselves and the league- and, who would have taken this position when the transfer window shut last September 1st? Every soul on here. Howay the lads!! BELIEVE!

He won approx 1.2k on the weekend. He'll be fine I think. No, he won't. You never want to lose what you've won once. You're one to speak

Down to 4/1 on PaddyPower now

Totally agree. Imagine how good it would be to win that? Unbelievable. And also, just from the perspective of pride it'd be great to be back in Europe. That's where NUFC should be, just can't imagine how you would want to turn it down.

I can't wait. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1301712/Buy-buy-Martin-How-ONeill-spent-120million-years-Aston-Villa.html If it gets us 3 consecutive 6th places finishes, great cup runs and also European football then I'll take it. Even if it set you back 10 years ala Villa right now?? For starters it won't because we have a great owner and chairman in Short, unlike that idiot Lerner who thinks that he has more money than he actually does. Short knows what he's doing - He wouldn't give Martin O'Neill the massive funds to sign average players such as those, also we work on a tight wage budget that won't be broken, unlike Villa. Didnt you just sign Oshea and Wes brown on massive 5 year contracts  And are you saying he will dictate to MON who he can and cant sign. I'm sure that will go down well. Oh, your boy Catts had a stormer today. Saw him give the ball straight to the oppostion on three occasions in the second hald despite being under no pressure what so ever. Better than Tiote O'Shea and Brown to wage cuts to fit into the structure, see my earlier post. Short won't dictate who we sign, but he shall give O'Neill a strict budget to work around, unlike Lerner who just threw money at him like it was confetti, that was never going to end well. Catts had a great game today (I was there), you're judging him off 3 mistakes? Can you point out what Cattermole does well for me please? I'm struggling to see anything that justifies him being a Premier League footballer. The only 'talent' he seems to have is the ability to injure other footballers/collect bookings. Whenever he doesn't play we get out battled physically in midfield, and that's where the game in won and lost in my opinion. So there's no real technical ability about him that makes him stand out, or even brings him up to the average standard? I think you've probably got it right- he's an 'asset' (not imo) purely because of his physicality and his ability to bully other teams.

Very solid today. Saying that, I don't know why people gave him such a hammering prior to today. Think he's been good most of the times I've seen him.
