  1. "Oh Mike, now I know we you want to sell the club. This is so boring..."
  2. Wouldn't mind trying Ferguson at left winger and Jonas on the right Agreed. Certainly wouldn't do our chances any worse.
  3. Barring our non-existent striker pairing, if we had someone on the right wing who was quick and could run at full backs and then Barton in the middle alongside Cheick, we'd be much more comfortable. With the extra man if we move the ball quick around the centre of the park, something Barton and Tiote do well, it would be a big advantage.
  4. Because it's impossible to reduce a wage unless the player agrees to it...? No mate, my point was how can we refuse to pay our best player a wage he wants so to keep him, but at the same time have useless players like Smith offering us absolutely nothing who are on bigger pay than him. It just simply doesn't make sense and shows little or no ambition from the owner- if he wanted the club to progress he wouldn't rely on transfer money to help us rebuild the team, he'd use some of his own.
  5. As frustrating as Shola can be, there's no denying he is an expert penalty taker. So consistent. 1-0, howay!!!
  6. If Carroll went to the club asking for a renewed contract with better pay due to a better proposal from Liverpool, and the club saw it as a convenient excuse to cash in on him, then I simply don't buy that. If one of our best players on about 30k a week is willing to stay but at the cost of an improved deal, then how the hell can we refuse that but be content with players like Alan Smith doing absolutely nothing earning 60k a week or so? It is simply sickening. That, anyway, is the conclusion I've drawn.
  7. Aye, they are a very jammy side. Always get deflected goals against us. You didn't by any chance realise how bad we were did you?
  8. You can pick holes if that makes you happy but there WILL be top clubs in for him this summer. Why? because he's a top player. End of. Agree But it's a different proposition doing it in a pressurised top team environment Ask bassong/keane/berbatov/Milner etc the list is endless In twitter terms #unabletomakethestepup He's been one the best strikers in the league this season. Quality player.
  9. Watching the game I couldn't believe how terrible the atmosphere was. Such a sterile flat noise around Anfield and at times it was nearly silent. But of course their the best fans in the world.
  10. Nearly completely irrelevant, but was that last minute equalizer by Beye against Birmingham during the relegation season also a Jonas corner? Or was that goal even during the relegation season? It was an Emre corner, and wrong season.

    Sunderland...

Imagine a Tyne-Wear derby at St.James' if Allardyce was in charge? Dear god...
  12. Yep. "omg he blinked twice, itched his nose and stuttered he wants to leave jooseee out!! "
  13. Maybe I'm not observant enough but I'm struggling to understand the recent avalanche of criticism Enrique's getting. He's been below par, yes, but no worse than most of our other players. But, if he is fed up, can anyone blame him? I cant (personally I'm not in the anti-Pards brigade, but I don't think its a coincidence that the squad is now unsettled and players like Jose who, under Hughton, had no desire whatsoever to leave the club, but now could have their eyes on the exit door).
  14. Unless Odemwingie is on loan, I'd highly doubt we'll sign him. But he'd be a handy player for sure.

    Shola Ameobi

In an ideal world we'd be letting Ameobi, Lovenkrands, Shefqi and Ranger (loan) leave in the summer, but we won't have that much financial clout behind us sadly. But at this stage unless we want to settle for mediocrity- something the people that run this club are more than content with- we've got to be forgetting the likes of Ameobi etc. Or at the very least put him right down the pecking order. He's been absolutely woeful in the last couple of games and considering he's one of the few players with a proper, strong physical presence in our side he's a waste of space.
  16. Could you blame the chap for wanting to leave? We're embarrassingly poorly run club with no ambition- he's one of the best LB's in the league. Doesn't make sense to hang around.
  17. Absolutely fed up of this, tbh. We didn't turn up with any motivation, desire, organisation or even a game plan. It basically read with mr that we were going to try and keep them out for as long as possible and after that it was anybodies guess. Reina literally could of gone home and it wouldn't have made a difference- as per fucking usual. I dont think he had one save to make apart from a pathetic Ameobi attempt. If either of Tiote, Barton or Enrique are sold this summer then I will personally burn Aahleys & Llambias' love nest down. I'm fucking sick of this pathetic mediocrity NUFC has settled for.
