Why does anyone have any shred of optimism that this could possibly happen? I can't and it won't. Ashley struck lucky with Keegan before he had ruined his reputation, but then he ruined that gamble and since then has appointed Joe Kinnear, Alan Shearer and, of course, Chris Hughton. Let's get real here. I'm done with this club.
-
Tactics crap? He changed them to the approval of most people on here when he needed to. I for one think he was learning fast and realising where he was going wrong and where he was going right. I don't think he would ever of had us as a top class side, but given time and finance stabilise us as a top 9/10 side. And as for the fitness levels? I'm not even going to bother. Do you honestly think we can attract someone better than him at this stage? Do you honestly think that the players will want to play for a new manager (especially some cunt like Pardew or Kinnear) given the circumstances in which Hughton left? I highly, highly doubt it.

Completely apathetic. For the first time in my life come Saturday I wont be watching a Newcastle game that's on TV (I live abroad so it's a big deal to me). Also, for the first time in my life I am on the brink of walking away from NUFC. It disgusts me and deeply, deeply saddens me that things have sunk to these depths, but I'm struggling to see any sort of future for this club as long as that man is at the helm. Just really, really deflated.

Protests will do absolutely nothing. The type of man we're dealing with is one that will only dig his heels further into Barrack Road the harder we try to push him. We're effectively powerless.
-
I just couldn't care enough to sing anyone's name, make banners....let alone watch the match Singing his name won't make him come back, it wont make Ashley leave. It will do nothing but waste you're energy.
-
All the best, Chris. You saved our club- you'll go down as a legend in our black & white history books.
-
Can we? No. Absolutely not.
-
We'd start to recover. I honestly wouldn't care if he did, tbh.

Maybe this is the time in life where I realise football is just something to take a look at on MOTD once every few weeks, and check up on the scores while doing something more important. There's only so much it's worth putting up with, I know it sounds pathetic saying it, and I should support NUFC through anything, but it just seems like more trouble than it's worth at the moment. Really down about it all Exactly my thoughts mate. It just seems like an absolute road to nowhere. The Keegan saga was hard enough to take as was relegation, but when there seems to be absolutely no hope of change in the ownership of our club it seems that we are destined for constant misery- and that's what NUFC does to me when we lose, makes me miserable. But this is far, far too far. What's the point?
-
Don't see the point in protesting. I just couldn't give a shit anymore. What's the point? He's not going to budge...he proved that last time. There's no one rich enough out there to buy us at the moment. We're fucked. And I'm done with this.

9. Almost certain at this stage, unless Ashley dies. It's effectively game over for us though.
-
This feels like a bad dream...
-
A complete and utter disgrace. I cannot see anything else other than relegation at this rate- a popular manager doing well sacked mid season; we all know how that goes.
-
Who the hell is going to manage us for this game? Who the fuck?! Hughton's gone, we had no assistant anyway, Paul Barron's gone (I know, keeper coach but still, good luck to Krul warming up)....so it's either Steve Stone or Peter Beardsley. For the first time in my life I actually might not watch a Newcastle match- like, this could be really, really embarrassing.
-
Can't see anything else but another relegation on the cards. This is a fucking sick joke.
-
His physical attributes wont change just by loaning him out or worse letting him rot in the reserves. He'll still be shit. Sell him ASAP along with that hapless bastard Alan Smith. I'm sure Roy Keane would welcome Smith...
-
Best was absolutely abysmal for us in the Championship. Correct me if I'm wrong but he didn't even score for us in a competitive game. I don't know where people get the opinion that he would be any better than Ameobi. We're better off giving Ranger a go or playing Nolan off Carroll.
-
Carroll on Kiryagos (spell) will be an interesting one. That guy has a few mistakes in him alright. We've got to seriously get in their faces and make life hell for them- again, the crowd must do more than their bit, something the players don't get all too often anymore at St.James'. Barton and Nolan could be a big difference for us.
-
I'm really fucking pissed off at this. Fuck sake.
-
Wouldn't mind the season ending now, tbh.

How much did you pay for Tchoyi, Osaze, and Mulumbu? All very good signings at what I would surmise were very good prices. Odemwingie was about £2 million, Mulumbu and Tchoyi less than a million, we were after Tiote who looks decent, but I think Mulumbu is better. odenwingie was a steal. always liked watching him for nigeria. CM4 legend.

Was our best player today, although that wasn't very hard. It was incredibly frustrating though to see him win the ball back and then needlessly turn back into trouble- he seemed to do all the hard work and then give it away so cheaply. Still, was our best player and naturally struggled with 10 complete cappers around him.

I don't think Jose and Jonas linked up once today. Both of them looked completely disinterested.
