  1. Too many cooks spoil the broth tbh. Either that, or we should all cease our livelihoods and bow down to Barca.
  2. "Well, I guess there's only one option for it then. Are you agreeing to a war?" "Well, err, yes, I guess." "Then it's settled. it's war." "THIS. IS. WAR!" Day Today
  3. Even then they'll probably imagine that he's just trying to tell people that he passed the ball.

His dad's a good referee. Ho ho ho. Sorry
  5. On a wider point (ie football in general), is anyone else who remembers the time starting to think that the 80s weren't actually that bad after all? There might have been 15-20,000 in grounds on a frequent basis, but at least they all gave a f*** and weren't just doing something to keep little Jonty and India entertained for a couple of hours before the theatre. I agree Brummie, the football seemed more entertaining, the atmosphere and day out were often more fun - it's all so sanitised nowadays. I quite enjoy watching Scottish football on Setanta as it looks more like our game did back then and you can almost identify with the players as fellow human beings as opposed to the 22 full (mainly foreign) internationals of a Premier league game. Many on here (but not many I actually see at the match) are talking about giving up attending next season - citing Ashley as their excuse as he's to blame for all our woes and the world recession too - but frankly most of those who will go are the perpetual whingers or those who jumped on the fashion bandwagon a few years ago - so we may be left with just the real fans again. There are people I know who have been going for years and are in no way people who have jumped on any kind of bandwagon but are talking of turning their backs on the club. The worrying thing is some of these people have stopped getting angry and are becoming apathetic. Couldn't word this any better. This is where the problem will lie.
  6. True dat. An occasional hammer is all he has. Slower and less of a dribbler than Enrique. Cannot believe anybody would have that ginger freckleface over Enrique. Spot on, some people seem to be completely sold on him by his ability to hit a ball very hard. How often was that even effective? Always thought he was an average defender even in his prime. In fairness, he pretty much brought Tyler and Gray to climax with that rocket goal against Man Utd.
  7. Wait a darn minute. I'm onto you
  8. I have to disagree. In all the years of watching football, Messi is the best player I've seen. Just a pure opinion, but the impact of his footballing ability should not be underestimated.
  9. I'm getting on cp40 in a double at 14/1 - first player on Sunday to abuse the ref, and also recklessly challenge someone and not get the ball.
  10. Best bit has got to be the SAF dossier
  11. On the contrary - see LLLO's sig.
  12. I'm confused as to why Liverpool got rid of Riise. Seems a really canny player.
  13. Coming from an Everton fan who's manager is the King of the Whinge. He's just a miserable b***ard at times. Leave Dave alone He should sign Zoggy, that would be a riveting press conference. Aye sponsored by Prozac Oh come on, it'd be comedy capers all over the place. Moyes may be drinking a smaller glass of water than expected. The hilarity! Hence why I told him to PM me if he wants to continue his argument. Christ I'll be sounding like NE5 before long. Has your club won 18 championships, 65 european cups, 1445 world cups, and year in year out has the best goalscorer ever known to man? mackems.gif No, really.
  14. Don't have access to SSN at the moment

  17. Hope it will be on the Sky Sports Video section soon, Skirge. youcantseeme, if you want to continue to fail to construct an actual argument, and also attempt to ruin the thread, PM me instead.
  18. Have Everton ever lost a derby where you don't blame the ref I remember Liverpool going 2-0 up when they had 10 men and they still blamed the ref cause he sent someone off in the 70th minute Mong alert.
  19. As usual, a massive game for NUFC. But from now till the end of season, any game against anyone other than the top 4 (ok, top 3 + Arsenal and ASTON VILLA ZOMFG1!!11!!!) is seemingly huge. I'll be interested to see what effect all the transfers rumours have on West Ham. With speculation that, essentially, their best players are all leaving, can they really keep it together and NOT get pulled deeper into a relegation battle? I worry for them, along with Pompey. Those are the 2 that in particular, I can see going into freefall. But then again such is the tight nature in the lower half, any one from 10+ teams can be in the same boat. For Newcastle, I think it's all about the supply line from the midfield, to Owen. I just have a funny feeling Mr Owen will get on the scoresheet tomorrow. An apparently disgruntled N'Zogbia won't help proceedings, which is why Jonas will need to have a good game. I've seen a bit of a split emerge on this forum recently, with the crux of the divide centering on whether he really is that good. These are the sorts of games he needs to prove it. Get hold of the ball, unlock the defence, cause panic for their defenders with his crossing, passing, and running. There's no doubt he has the talent, but he needs to really start dominating games in the way his potential hints that he can. If Guthrie's back, that's a huge boost. I've been quietly impressed with him, and when I took the chance to actually watch him in games his intelligence and movement to give the defence an option, is simple but essential. This allows the ball to stay on the ground a bit more. Who will be alongside Guthrie if he's fit? If it's Geremi, I can see that partnership working, as long as they don't get bullied. They strike me as 2 smart, tidy players but will either really be an enforcer in the middle of the pitch, stamp his mark on the game and win that central battle? One of them will have to. My prediction is a home win. That's a bit of my heart and not all of my head, but I think home advantage will push Newcastle over the line, providing the fans get right behind them and don't give up if things start going wrong/annoying/boring. Could be a case of a 2nd half show, with JK shoving a varying quantity of rockets up players' arses at half-time. 2-1.
  20. Rafa complaining about referees? I don't know if irony really does it justice.
  21. Perhaps he needs someone in the team he can look up to. Not that he'd physically be able to do that.
  22. Don't get me going on Kenwright. I'll sound like NE5
  23. Hasn't been given enough of a chance KD. He's been canny when he has played but not given a consistent run in the side, which I find bamboozling. He's not the sort of player who strikes me as a major improvement to what you have but under 'arry, who knows, he may shine. Certainly has the potential. And nah, we have Lescott who can play disturbingly well there.
