  1. Liverpool to rape the first 20 minutes, Newcastle to get back into it only for them to score. Scrappy middle third of the game, wonder goal from someone makes it 2-0. Newcastle hit the bar but no comeback arrives. Decent performance overall.

    Referees

Not sure where to post this, but did anyone hear Salako earlier? Talking about the bias that exists, born out of the reputations of some players. Think it was a very interesting point, and agreed with much what he had to say. (Stemmed out of Dowd having the balls to send Terry off on Monday). And don't hold your breath regarding the FA and Rooney and Ronaldo.
  3. Good on them, hope they do very well, it's refreshing. They've done nothing to warrant the bumming they get though, they've played well on a small handful of occasions this season. Not that I'm bitter that we raped them and we lost. Nope.
  4. It's a strange comparison but I'd say we have the same sort of resilience Chelsea had under Mourinho. When the chips are down we continue producing results, i.e today and the game against City. No fit strikers, matters not one jot. LOLZ VILLA ARE DA BEST TEAM EVAAAAA! And so on.
  5. Your posting on an internet forum, the only way is up from here. You're. See, up isn't the only way. Tentatively sideways sometimes fits the bill.
  6. Interesting article OM, seems to be a good argument as well.

    The Story So Far

It has been a canny bit past 2 seasons or so. E.g. having to wait to play you on the last day to get a friggin penalty. Other examples include the Merseyside derby, and Blackburn away. Both ridiculous in their own rights. But out of adversity we seem to be at our best.

    The Story So Far

Our performances probably replicate the general (lack of) quality in the league. My frustration also stems from seemingly f***ing up a great chance in the summer in terms of additions to the squad, to seriously challenging the top 4. Instead, Villa have raced past us.
  9. Bit harsh on Lennon considering his team didn't play yesterday. Couldn't resist
  10. Blackpool rejecting the approach for Grayson apparently.

  12. Nah Redknapp's right, it was an utter siege from Spurs. Save after save from Given, Redknapp was correct in what he was saying, it was a matter of time before Spurs scored. I also heard Mark Hughes saying it was his own tactics that are to blame, and Benitez admitted Liverpool are jammy f***ers.
  13. Thought he wanted 50k? Good shouts though, all would seem fairly realistic as well.
  14. What? Really? I haven't seen it yet, I hope I do though. That would mean Gerrard not getting a decision though, very strange indeed.
  15. "Oh he can have no complaints". Aye, apart from the fact it wasn't a yellow. WAAAHHH NO PHYSICAL CONTACT! And what a pathetic reaction from the other player.
  16. A few good performances and he should be leading the backline for years to come? Christ on a bike. Impressive so far yeah but Jesus, give it some more time. If he's still playing impressively in 3 months time then aye, he's earned the praise.
  17. Very good shout. Bit like Fuller's piece of skill earlier in the season, against Villa I think.
  18. I was reading something earlier and someone at Everton suggested he was getting unfair treatment because his hair makes him stand out so much, 8 yellows this season isn't it? Haha I doubt it, but you never know. We do get our fair share of bizarre decisions against us, so who knows. Yeah, 8 yellows I believe, and I can't remember one particularly bad tackle to date.
  19. Don't give Wise credit, coz he's like proper nasty and stuff.
  20. Some of the refs could only dream of his mini 'fro. Tbh he gets harsh decisions, because he's big and strong. The game against Stoke was a joke. Because their team is big and strong, when our players (i.e. Fellaini) outmuscled them, which was the case throughout the match, it was automatically a free kick.
  21. What about for Everton Lien? Do you still need a right back? Surprisingly Neville has been canny recently, less irritating than usual. Ideally yes we do, but we have bigger concerns, i.e. a quality attacking mid. is Cahill for sale like ? Not that I know of. Just, imo, he's average at best. Very limited player. And in a 4 man midfield, he looks utterly lost. you think so ? Scores a few goals from midfield, and supports his strikers better than any of the ones that we have. What about that new bloke you have, the bloke who scored against us, is he Italian ? I don't know what your main weaknesses at Everton are by the way, I only watch you against us or on telly now and again. Cahill's strengths are his timing, aerial ability and 'enthusiasm'. Technically poor, passing, shooting, control, none are particularly good. Crossing is ok I suppose. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying we should get rid, but unless he's playing just off the main striker (or indeed as striker it seems!), he doesn't offer a lot. Fellaini is the one you're talking about. He's Belgian, 20, and although the price tag was too much, he's doing well IMO. I think DM bought him as a defensive midfielder, but he's doing well getting forward, most games I've seen him have been him offering more on the offensive front. I think we need to decide what position he's best at and keep him there. If we therefore keep him in the defensive mid position, we still need an attacking mid, a la Moutinho who we were apparently on the verge of signing over the summer, and perhaps would have if it wasn't for inept transfer dealings. Arteta is good when he's on form, he needs creative support. Pienaar has the odd effective game. Osman is good in parts but nothing special, fairly lightweight, like Pienaar. We also need some pace, Victor Obinna was one we were close to getting on loan, a pacy Nigerian who can play up front or on the wing. His work permit was refused for some reason though, probably because we don't play in red. Otherwise, nothing urgently required. If we're being picky, could do with 4 or 5 players to really get us to the next level, which we so frustratingly failed to do over the summer due to a lack of money, plain and simple.

    Joe the Man

Classic circular reasoning, that. If JFK wins us the FA cup this year I'll be the first to offer my mouth for the congratulatory blow job. So every manager we've had since 1955 wasn't qualified for the job? I can see what's going to happen next.
