  1. I've always regarded them as genuinely just an insignificant club. Their purpose seems to be float around not doing much and then when they get bored of that, get relegated. There's very, very little appeal to Sunderland as a whole and I have no idea how they're actually going to overcome that, because that is the main barrier preventing any sort of progress. That's a bit harsh. Think the same could be said of Swansea 5 years ago. It could be. And I still have no idea how Sunderland will progress in a similar vein. They can prove me wrong and I'll happily hold my hands up.
  2. If you want to shrug your shoulders and just broadly collect two thirds of the division together like that, then cool. I see there being clear differences between you and Sunderland beyond the tangible aspects you've mentioned (which, fwiw, provide a massive distinction by themselves). That's not some pro-Newcastle bollocks just because I'm here. I think the difference is clear to see. Going "well, at the end of the day, we're pretty much on the same level looking for the same things" strikes me as lacking passion and conviction. I'm not using the word "purpose" in a strict, literal sense either. No club is definitively "meant" to do X, Y or Z, but it's clear where Sunderland's position is. I think trying to categorise yourselves as being in roughly the same position is to do a massive disservice to you as a club, and would seem in line with the systematic attempts of lowering of fans' expectations your owner/manager appear intent on persisting with.
  3. Shit club is shit. Even if I am offending anyone with that, why would I give a shit? I think Sunderland are a garbage club. Some might think we're not very good. Cool. I don't agree, but that's their prerogative. Football, ey.

  5. Oh and anyone well into their racing and has some opinions on the Doncaster card tomorrow, let me know as I'm going. Already got a few things on, mainly focussed on the Racing Post Trophy.
  6. Just as games with you, our games with Villa consistently produce. 11/12 have had BTTS, and BTTS in our last 5 games. Also, if anyone thinks our price is appealing at the weekend - not that I'd suspect many would - then think again. In our last 12 away games, we've won..... 1. Score draw really looks likely.
  7. Yeah, I think they have a link with a few clubs. "Sign up today, bet on your team to win and get these ridiculous odds". Think it's a max bet of £10/£20, mind. Still, though. Got 8/1 (I think) on us to beat Chelsea. Already a PP customer but a little workaround saw to that.
  8. How much was that top one potentially paying out?
  9. Shite reason, I want SATURDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL!!! Without Jamie Redknapp.
  10. Agree with that. Is it on tomorrow? Yeah, but it's weird coverage. Think it kicks off at 5 but Sky, for some UEFA bullshit about not being able to show live football until 5.15pm, can't show the first 15 mins. 5 in the first place is an odd kick off time for this game, am I missing something? I know Spanish teams are all playing at different times, but would've thought they'd want this a bit later for maximum TV audience.
  11. Think Ronaldo to score anytime at 5/4 is excellent. Would certainly take that price rather than 8/11 best price on Messi (most going 4/6 and shorter).
  12. Sorry, I'm all over Arsenal this weekend. Stay away. If people are getting on them, get on early. Price will shorten. The -1 @ 11/10 has already gone - evens best price. That'll go below soon enough. Yep, all over them. Arsenal were 4/9 immediately post-Holloway sacking. Now 4/11 best price, plenty going 1/3 and even 3/10. Would be shocked if Arsenal kick off best price anything above 1/3. Probably 3/10. H'caps will obviously shorten accordingly. Got them on the -2 ah at 2.85 and -2.5 at 3.35 in another accum. You'd think it will be one of these ones where Palace shock everyone with a magnificent display or they get totally pasted. Let's hope for the latter. A couple of times recently I've been very confident of a big win for a team and the other team have defied all previous performances and produced a stunningly resolute display. IMO it is merely a matter of Arsenal's mercy. If they want to score 4 or 5, they can. I guess they're not likely to play a first team lineup in the League Cup so it's not like their key players have to hold back. Edit: they've got Chelsea, might be slightly stronger than usual.

  16. Can get 13/8 simply on Arsenal scoring over 2.5. -1 @ 11/10 with Stan James, -2 @ 14/5.
  17. After oohing and aahing, went for this in the end. Shakhtar's lack of a goal however took a fair wedge of that profit.
  18. Tempted to bet on Anderlecht given the confidence everyone has in PSG. To ensure it's a 1-0 PSG win, I've gone for PSG -1. Edit: actually nah, avoiding the h'cap.
  19. Recovered a bit on Dortmund over 1.5 goals yesterday but no way of avoiding the fact Arsenal let me down for a potentially great return. No regrets about taking them though, they were good value. Man Utd game is annoying tonight. If the Sociedad of last year turned up I'd fancy them to win, but they seem to be struggling a bit coping with the additional demands this year. I want to lay Man Utd but they'll probably win by the odd goal.
  20. If you wanted people to ignore your comments you should probably have deleted the post instead of seeking attention by posting that. And you need to calm down.
