  1. Few £1 bets on: Robinho FGS 3-1 Robinho anytime 3-1 Kaka anytime 3-1
  2. Another 2-1 win for Brazil.
  3. Or, they could play straight into Brazil's hand and get comfortably beat. They'll be cautious I reckon.
  4. Well, these groups are being set up fantastically for the final round of games. A few of them look set to be decided by a single goal here and there, great for the neutral.
  5. It doesn't hide our massive flaws but it's extremely reassuring to see other teams fucking up too.
  6. Yep; a sensational result (probably the greatest in their history?) but besides that, they've given themselves a real chance of going through. Realistically I'd expect Paraguay to beat them but can anyone say they expected to remain unbeaten against Slovakia and Italy? Come on the Kiwis!
  7. It's a bit depressing to see players giving their absolute all, albeit 95% defensively, for their country, when you compare that to our lot swanning around expecting something to happen on Friday.
  8. Absolutely chuffed for NZ, an outstanding effort.
  9. They're doing a good enough job simply by keeping him in charge so long.
  10. Martin Keown is truly abysmal as a co-commentator/pundit. "You have to hit the target if you want to be testing the keeper." Incisive.
  11. Say you have bet for Rooney to be the England top scorer, and both he and Heskey put two each, you will get half the odds on Rooney Alright. Well, I've got Gyan (aye cheers SEMTEX, forgot about that penalty yesterday), Hernandez and Kaka as a treble. As I say, I need Kaka to sort his life out. The only other group bets that have a chance at the moment are the 5-fold to qualify: Chile to do so, and Algeria, Aussies, Greece and Japan (hmm...) not to; and an audacious couple of quid on the group placings to be Brazil-Portugal, Holland-Denmark, and England-USA (an even bigger hmmm - not even sure if those placings are possible anymore).
  12. Anyone know what the situation with the team top scorer bets is when there's a joint top scorer? Albeit it's looking unlikely unless Kaka does something, Gyan and Hernandez have both got one.
  13. Deserved lead for Paraguay. South American success at this tournament looks like continuing.
  14. The commentator and Keown just slagging off their landlady there.
  15. More @ http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/world_cup_2010/8750168.stm/ Christ, that's desperate stuff. Doesn't mean they're behind him at all, just that he's been told to say they are. You're just being negative now.. Just realistic.

  17. Ah right, sorry. I thought we'd just played 90 minutes where we were shown up by a poor Algerian side and arguably outplayed for chunks of the game... There is every chance we won't qualify. We should beat Slovenia, yes, but we should have beaten the Yanks and my word we should have beaten Algeria, so I'm not going into the game with much confidence. I'll still be cheering them on as loud as ever, though. When push comes to shove, and in a must win game, England will beat Slovenia, of that I am sure. It won't be pretty, and it will be nail biting stuff, but I just can't see you lose that one with the quality you have throughout the squad. Even if we'd have drawn 0-0 on Friday but been denied by a good goalkeeping performance I'd agree with you. There was completely, absolutely, definitively nothing good to say about that performance, apart from the fact we didn't lose. To search for positives would involve a very deep barrel. And you say we won't lose it but that's not the problem: the problem is a draw is very likely to see us go out too. My heart says we'll nick it but my head says there's no reason for us being able to when we can't even trouble Algeria.

    Emile Heskey

I shouldn't really be laughing but when he did those stepovers, fucked it up and floated the ball out for a goal kick, fucking hell man.

    Emile Heskey

Rooney has been no worse than Heskey. It's the fact so much more is expected from Rooney, and his performances have been disappointing relatively.

Criticising a player doesn't equal him being a scapegoat. It's a thread that, on the whole, is discussing how on earth this clown is in our starting line-up.
  22. That's definitely the plan like, not player mind you, but I think he'll get it after Capello if he stays on til the Euros. Our attempt at a van Basten or Klinsmann appointment.  Beckham England manager???!!! My goodness. Yeah, wait. What the fuck is wrong with me. Beckham 2012! He...looks good in a suit! Not trying to apply logic here! Just reckon that's what'll end out happening. That would be crazy if it happened. Would be. Not really going to bang on about it, just remember reading about the possibilities of it a few months back. In the article it also mentioned Linekar, which wouldn't bother me, and Shearer. Wouldn't mind giving Shearer a stab at it like. That said, I'm still a firm fan of Capello. Would be gutted if all his blatant good work got undone in the matter of two frigging weeks. Aye. I reckon he will be massively hurt if we didn't qualify, seeing as it would be such a massive blot on an excellent career.

    Emile Heskey

Yep. So what better than to play someone who has the supposed job of helping Rooney, who is being marked out of games? Much better than putting on someone who can, you know, score goals...
