  1. I fully expected this. You guys have been on the wind up all tournament. I say one thing and now you're all throwing a hissy fit and having a go at Nigeria and African football etc. That's okay you go ahead. We don't claim to be the best and we don't always claim we are going to win every world cup. To be honest I'd much rather they sorted a lot of other things going on in Africa, before they start worrying about winning world cups. Having said that though, all things considered, I'm still happy with what Nigeria and some of the other African teams have managed to achieve considering the horrible investment and support from their respective football associations. Now having said all that. If it all came down to it I would most definitely put my money on Nigeria, Ghana and Ivory Coast if they came up against England. So if you really think those three teams are that crap then it says a lot about England also. In your bizarre mind it says a lot, aye.
  2. Just remembered these are tomorrow morning.
  3. Can see a 2-1 or indeed another 1-0. SK will give another good account of themselves.
  4. Haha. They've got a decent chance obviously (probably 1-0 if anything) but they couldn't be further from a banker win if you tried.
  5. Amazing prediction. Psychic, even!
  6. Wayne Rooney's guess at what pi is has really let us down this year.
  7. Lad I know just mentioned he'd lost a £400 treble on Spain/Brazil/Argies to get 7-9 points. Rather funny, since he's a cocky little shite, and also was banking on winning it to get funds for a holiday, stupid sod.
  8. Spain were very poor. No getting away from this. Of course, credit to Switzerland - I expected at least one mistake but nothing came about. They were, but that defence was like the Inter defence at times. Except it was von Bergen and Grichting not Lucio and Samuel. They must have been seriously drilled before hand to be that solid throughout. Spain's tournament is seriously on the line now, while Honduras and Chile will play into their hands more they've got alot of work to do. More pressure, to be exact. They'd have expected to get a win today, even if it wasn't convincing, meaning even if they did slip up in their next 2, they'd probably still go through. What a game Spain-Chile could be.
  9. Spain were very poor. No getting away from this. Of course, credit to Switzerland - I expected at least one mistake but nothing came about.
  10. It's impossible to use the first round of group games as an accurate guide. Each game had its own circumsntaces. For example, Australia being defensively inept and on the wrong end of a poor red card decision, England being an absolutely massive game for the US hence no doubt an added effort, and Switzerland are unlikely to be as defensively assured as that for a long, long time.
  11. Through sheer laziness I didn't replace RVP with Sanchez. I assume the latter got a decent total?
  12. Which part is wrong? Much like Brazil didn't need both Melo and Gilberto Silva last night, Busquets and Alonso were not both needed today.
  13. Well, safe to say Spain were awful as much as Switzerland were organised, worked hard and other such common, similar terms.
  14. We won't see anything new because Capello will probably stick with Heskey.
  15. In the full, what, 10 minutes he had? At least he can stick the ball into the back of the net; a characteristic that ultimately defines strikers. We need all the goal threat we can get. Edit: I wouldn't actually start either of them, but Crouch would without doubt be ahead of Heskey in my book.
  16. I was thinking about this the other day. Sure, he set Gerrard up well in the opening minutes but as he can't score (painfully proven later on) the general justification for playing him is that he's brings the best out of Rooney. Who was almost completely anonymous. Heskey won a lot of headers but if that's all you want then you might as well stick Upson up front or something. Conclusion: Heskey is shit. Yep. But as long as he "works well with Rooney". Absolute bullshit. We can't afford to have a non-goalscoring striker in our team, it's fucking ludicrous.
  17. If Stifler is banned, does that mean it's essentially a case of banning his imagination? Orwell would be proud.
  18. Brazil + Messi + Tim Howard vs Spain + Ronaldo. Are you serious? Wtf is Tim Howard doing there? I'm American, man. I'm biased. 3rd best keeper.
  19. Fuuuuuuuuuuuucking stupid cunt. They got exactly the same didn't they: 9? I've probably not fully understood the rules like. Oh well.
  20. For the record, the group bets I'm holding some hope out for are, in decreasing order of chance: Argies, Brazil, Spain and Holland to get 7 or 9 points: £10 pays £83. Argies, Spain and Holland to get 9: £2.50 pays £105. Argies, Spain, Holland and Brazil to get 9: £1 pays £147 (as well as the 2 other bets coming in). Howay perfect records!
  21. If Holland, Spain, Brazil and Argies all get 9 points I'll have made a very tidy profit. Long, long way to go yet though. 7 or 9 points for each would probably see me up as well.
  22. Just had a look at how mine are doing for the first time. A tad better than expected, couple of goals for Villa and a clean sheet would be welcomed tomorrow.
