Milner does have the energy and tenacity to play in the middle, but neither he or Lampard are good enough in the air, or at tackling to compete with the best strikers in the world. I think we have a problem in central midfield. Carrick has been poor, Hargreaves has been dead and personally, I don't think Barry is that good. I'd play him for lack of anyone else, and that he has experience in England's central midfield. I worry against quality exponents of pass and move that we will be taught a lesson there due to a lack of a top-class defensive midfielder.

Impact player? 24 league goals this season - only Rooney and Drogba have scored more in the league, man.
-
Bent has to go.
-
Scharner's leaving Wigan as has been mentioned - he'd be a brilliant signing considering he'd be free, and he'd also be a handy player to have available. I wouldn't imagine he'd demand unreasonable wages either.
-
Thought we hadn't heard from him for a while.

Skybet may as well pay me now, tbh.
-
Well, that wasn't supposed to happen.

Sums up my luck at the moment. Almeria in pretty shite form, Villarreal have picked up in the past month or 2 a lot, barring Barca at the weekend. Very, very annoying.

Getafe @ 4/7 Valencia @ 1/4 Villarreal @ 13/10 Barcelona -2 @ 4/6

Here in NE2 I can hear the roar of approval from the ground as the players start their warm-up routines!

So basically, you have no idea either Something constructive next time? If you don't mind. ZING!

I'm glad you see Leighton as so valuable, Towelie.

If we wanted to play 1 up top, how about: GK: Green DR: Johnson DL: Cole DC: Terry DC: Ferdinand MC: Barry (slightly more defensively-minded) MC : Gerrard AML: Milner/Johnson AMR: Lennon AMC: Lampard FC: Rooney 1. I'm not Barry's biggest fan, but Carrick is not in good form. 2. Left-wing would be a dilemma: I'm not sure what Milner's like from the left, nor do I think Gerrard really flourishes from there. I'd entertain him from the right-wing though in a 4-4-2. 3. Lampard is our best midfielder at the moment quite easily. As such, play him in his best position. 4. I have reservations over Rooney as a lone striker, even if we did have Lampard and co supporting. If we went for a 4-4-2, I'd currently probably go for something like what Rich has posted. Lennon however is looking doubtful, so I'd consider Gerrard on the right, Barry/Lampard central and Johnson on the left. Actually, maybe Milner.

After Birmingham, the rest of the league below them has been pretty damn poor this season. Blackburn, Fulham, Stoke and Sunderland are mediocre but can put form together; Wolves, Wigan, West Ham and Bolton have steered clear of relegation because the bottom 3, for various reasons, have been fucking dire.
-
They've only won 12 games. That's insane. Best of a bad bunch, for want of a better phrase.
-
He isn't; I wouldn't go for him as your main striker target but I think he'd be great to bring off the bench. He can cut it in this league, no doubt.

There is no Step 2!!! :omg:

Gave Arsenal the run-around today like, though they were hardly on top form.
-
(Points in the Championship / 2) + Owen's goals = VICTORY!
-
I'll throw it out there again, if on the cheap: Jason Roberts.
-
It works, though.
-
LOL! Typical delusional Geordies!
-
Are Arsenal trying to be a complete shambles from set pieces?
-
Arsenal haven't been able to contain Roberts in those last 10 minutes, make of that what you will.
