  1. I applaud his approach, why should he let Man City bully him into selling Lescott? Because Lescott wants to leave. Why play someone who is unhappy and doesn't wanna be there, all it's gonna do is unsettle and disrupt the team, which was evident against Arsenal. We'll never truly know how much it exactly impacted on the final score but it was a stupid decision to play him in the first place. Rodwell wasn't injured afaik.
  2. I applaud his approach, why should he let Man City bully him into selling Lescott? Moyes has been a twat about it after the initial part of it. I agree that we should have held out for more than the initial £15m, and I applauded him for not just letting a club like Man City think they can just get someone with a click of their fingers, but the whole 'Joleon is going nowhere' stuff was embarrassing. If only he had accepted this earlier, we may have had time to invest the money. But our snail-paced transfer activity, as usual, will see us waste yet another summer.
  3. Smart finish from Cleverly teaches Forest a lesson to complete a 4-2 win for GG's beloved Hornets.
  4. There's that Shevchenko bloke.
  5. The inevitable occurs. (Mackems 1-1).
  6. How much of a plank is Paul Walsh? "I saw Ancelotti's face, he didn't look happy. I thought they played well, but maybe he doesn't like the fact they're a goal down."
  7. Not as shit entertaining as Everton, evidently.
  8. First attack apparently, Jones attempt gets a huge deflection and falls to Bent. Hmm.
  9. Echoing other people, not only were Wigan in my bet as well but I have 2 Wigan defenders in my FF team.
  10. Good, coz I've already put that exact treble on! Just when I thought I might have a chance... Wolves score.
  11. Good, coz I've already put that exact treble on!
  12. Anyone having a flutter tonight?

    PROMOTIONOMETER

I particularly agree with your first point - I don't think it will be the Sheff Utd's, Readings, Cardiffs, Boros or whoever you see as promotion contenders at first, that will seriously bother you. It will be the 'smaller' teams, with a stronger physical presence that will most likely offer your sternest test. The teams that try to play against you will more than often get undone.
  14. ....but this is the Championship, not the Premiership.
  15. Lansbury is certainly going out on loan this season. Would love him at either Newcastle or Scunny tbh It's Jay something-or-other Thomas.
  16. [snip snip] No football clips - http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,19161.0.html [/snip] It's worth another watch.
  17. ........it's been a long day.

    Dave Jones

Why? You'd want someone like Dave Jones at your club long term? If we do ever get promoted he's hardly gonna storm the PL. At least with Shearer we don't know if he'll be good or bad yet, with Jones we already know he's not a great manager. God help us for wanting a manager to be proud of. I never said anything about him being a 5 year appointment. IMO he'd do a pretty good job for you this season, a better one than Hughton put it that way. If he was a manager with no experience at all then perhaps but I fail to understand this 'we're better than Jones and Strachan' mentality.

    Dave Jones

Are the people who don't want Jones, Strachan etc not wanting them because of things to do with the structure and how they'd fit in, or are they flat-out not wanting them? If it's the latter I despair.
  20. Not forgetting Shola 'Alan Shearer' Ameobi! Shearer can only look back on what could have been. He could have been his generation's Shola.
  21. Literally. Just, a collection of boats recommended by Shola. I'm not arguing with him.
