The cause has already been remedied to be fair. We were a rudderless ship, with individuals promoted to positions apparently beyond their capability. That said, if Elanga and Ramsey come good over the next few months, it'll put an entirely different framing on the summer, as per 22/23.
-
Of course. He was vintage Murphy tonight, a couple of good balls surrounded by wall to wall frustration.
-
Even if he was averaging a goal a game, it would still be an overpay. We were desperate, the market conditions were very pro-Brentford and they obliged to take our pants down. I'm still convinced after a couple of seasons of solid goal returns we'll get a decent return from Saudi though.

Well played. Sliding down the Hound O'Meter. Going into Wolves, Elanga remains firm number one with Ramsey, Willock, Gordon, Wissa and Woltemade on radar. These lads are only a mistake away from some much needed abuse. Barnes has hit some excellent form to spare himself, while Botman's new contract has bought him some time.
-
Given Barnes recent form, I suppose another spot opened up on the shit list. Enjoy your stay Yoane.

What was very encouraging tonight was that after a relatively positive start off the bench, his first misstep was greeted with audible dissent from the crowd. Only a matter of time before he's getting booed.
-
He looks back to his best.
-
We've very quickly slid into unbearable territory.
-
Lead the press well and provided plenty of good movement. Poor on the ball though, snatched at an early effort and fluffed a through ball to Gordon. Cracking save from Trafford for his header, so a bit unlucky too.
-
Generally speaking, they've completely lost the spirit of the offside rule. It was meant to prevent goal hanging and gaining an unfair advantage, not to take minutes pouring over whether someone's limb is marginally offside.

Pep His team have played well, they've won pretty comfortably and his head is on the moon. -

Khusanov coming across clearly puts him off. He should definitely do better, better but it's not an absolute gimme with the bouncing ball. -

Legitimate question, but what are these big chances we created? Wissa snatched at one early doors. Trafford made a brilliant save from Wissa. Then Bruno hit the post. I know it's verboten, but City's last ditch defending was excellent. Nick should shoot first time, but it's a fractional call, Khusanov does brilliantly. -
Do we have to do this every time a result doesn't go our way? In hindsight he should have shot first time, but what have we learnt? We already knew he needs to attack the box better and be more effective with his frame, but he's doing pretty well this sesson all things considered. Some of the sweeping statements about him and Wissa this evening have been well over the top.

We've played worse than that and won this season. Some really good performances today and it really felt like a game of fine margins. Still though, pretty much the perfect away performance from City in a two legged affair. -
