  1. Rangers fans hated him, Forest fans loved him, so who knows, but he's not a scout or a director of football. Talent ID will still be Nickson and Andy Howe's area.
  2. He's got none in his first half a season. Bold claim.
  3. To be fair, he looked absolutely rattled from the off. Just a bad day at the office.
  4. CB cover became essential last night. LB cover would be nice too, but I'd be amazed if we end up with any major signings.
  5. With Fab knackered, defensive cover is essential now.
  6. He had a good game. Was pulling the CBs out of position all game and had Thiaw absolutely rattled. He always had that in his locker though, he's just a bit of a sick note.
  7. The whole attacking unit is just very disjointed. Both Woltemade and Wissa have received poor service, particularly from the wingers. It doesn't help that they start so deep and wide. Woltamade needs to learn to use his frame (an issue he's always had, but improving at) and improve at attacking the eighteen yard box. It's all very fixable though, there were similar discussions about Isak in his first sesson.
  8. After peeling myself off the ceiling from a late comeback win, one of my first thoughts was to fire up the Woltamade thread and talk up the merits of selling our £70 million striker, who's been one of our better players this season.
  9. Another clown show at the Hill-Dick.
  10. I don't think it's a conspiracy, I just think we've had a lot of big decisions go against us of late.
  11. Only one of these was given...
  12. Bit unfortunate with the defensive reshuffle, but where on earth are the midfield.
  13. We've seen some shocking officiating performances go against us of late.
  14. Seems Kenneth Taylor is off to Lazio.
  15. If we're hoping to cash in, the World Cup could be our friend.
  16. Not seen Nuno this emotional before.
  17. Nico Williams has really come on, has been Forest's best player.
  18. Yeah my bad, cut this part off. Probably the most positive paragraph: "Midgley’s decision to stay came after positive talks with Newcastle sporting director Ross Wilson, academy director Steve Harper and head of recruitment Steve Nickson. It is understood he did not think the time was right to leave a project of such potential, with Newcastle’s Saudi-led owners set to invest in academy infrastructure in 2026. Nickson was a key factor in Midgley joining the club and he wants to continue to work with and learn from a recruitment expert who he rates as one of the best operators in the game."
  19. "Manchester United have been dealt a blow in their attempts to appoint a new head of academy recruitment. Daily Mail Sport can reveal that Newcastle’s Paul Midgley has turned down their offer and will be staying on Tyneside. The 38-year-old held talks with Manchester United last month and, having worked with director of football Jason Wilcox at Manchester City, there was an expectation he would become the club’s new recruitment chief below first-team level. But Midgley has told staff inside St James’ Park that he will remain as head of youth recruitment, meaning Manchester United must pick up their extensive search, which had involved 10 serious candidates before Midgley emerged as the frontrunner following a series of interviews. United have been looking to replace Luke Fedorenko, who is on gardening leave as he prepares to depart Carrington to take up a new job with an agency. Midgley joined Newcastle from Manchester City three years ago, where he worked as UK scouting manager alongside Wilcox and Manchester United’s new academy chief Stephen Torpey. News of him turning down United comes on the back of a difficult 48 hours for the club’s hierarchy, after head coach Ruben Amorim was sacked amid tensions with Wilcox."
