  1. Apparently the horsfield was tanking gannon's daughter
  2. I'm actually proud of the levels of understanding in this discussion. Well done you guys :applaud:
  3. Bottled dog's post is riddled with common sense. I salute you.
  4. I've just been sick in my mouth. Sad, would love the 2002 variety back.
  5. You really think Tiote barged into Pardews office and demanded a 61/2 year deal ? You really think Carroll barged into Pardews office and demanded £80,000 per week? Strong possibility.
  6. How many have we gave in to? I think the Carroll affair is the precedent to this. My current knowledge is that he had 2 wage increases in the space of roughly a year. Even if he was worth more than the contract he was on in January (ok, so he was), the club couldn't justify a further increase in his wage, as there was too much potential for a range of damaging repercussions. That, and hello to £35m.
  7. But it really isn't good practice for a club to continually give into a players demands, regardless of the circumstances. Barriers must be drawn in the current way of operating. Sad, but true.

    N-O Player's Awards

Still feels to early to even begin suggesting categories, sorry.
  9. Howay man, do you ever say any positive. Erm, that post was positive.
  10. Of course. But MA and Pardew were originally not prepared to sell him. But then that ludicrous offer came along. And NUFC was prepared to give Carroll a new contract. But he demanded to be the best paid player in the club. Something he probably said as a result of being "advised" by his agent. The sale of Carroll could actually be one of the reasons why we now have tied Tiote up for 6,5 years. If he's now sold, it will be a price that reflects his sacredness! Well put. So basically, this new contract should secure a more substantial asking price. Good enough.
  11. The Juventus friendly. Carroll was dominant.

Shouldn't we wait until the end of the season? Just seems a fairly odd time to do something like this.
  13. Didn't Carroll sign a new contract a few months before leaving?

  15. The thing about this season is uncertainty. We had runs of games that have given the impression that we were capable of pushing for Europe. We have had runs of games were we have looked like relegation fodder.
  16. Has never been in doubt. However, that is not to say that Arsenal do not have the capacity to win. Because they do.
  17. You guys should experiment. Leon Best in the right place... repeated to the tune of Everything in its right place by Radiohead.
  18. He looks so out of place at times down the left hand side. So uncertain of where he should position himself.
  19. You don't think the best team in the world might just outplay them at somepoint? I don't think Barcelona will have to play to their full potential in order to win.

    Nile Ranger

Oh, wait. I've actually completely overlooked the championship season I'm talking about his performances prior to that season. He did regress a little.

    Nile Ranger

I've said this before, but I feel inclined to say it again. I disagree with the assertion that Ranger is better than Carroll was at a similar age / stage of development. Carroll possessed a sounder positional awareness to Ranger when at similar 'stages' of development. His performances felt maturer, he was consistent and he looked like a seasoned footballer. It was this framework that allowed Carroll to rapidly develop, coupled in with his astonishing rise in mental strength. Ranger is raw in his link-up play, he looks positionally inexperienced and he lacks the right form of composure in front of goal. He has shown only glimpses of his potential, seemingly only when up against tired legs in stretched games. Finally, I very much doubt that he has the personality and mental strength to improve his game sufficiently over the next 2/3 vital years. For me, as of now, Ranger wont make it.
