Just having a look at Liverpool Chelsea. Chelsea look up for it.

The couple of times we've looked vulnerable have been when they've punted the ball in the general direction of Defoe. I'd be slightly more confident if we were 3-4-3 tbh.

They're set up to defend and then try to hit it long for Defoe. Working so far.

They look well-organized so far. Little niggly fouls. Just tried to donate us a goal though.

We were talking about this in a thread about Oliver whathisname - the English kid who went to Germany and is supposedly being paid 30Kpw. Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea and Man U routinely pay their young players far more than most clubs can afford. Somebody said that Jenkinson was getting paid something like that (30-40Kpw).

If this is true, then God know how low the first bid must have been.

Look at the money being payed these days. £30,000 is nothing. Is that really what he's getting? There are a few reasons that Chelsea and Man City mop up most of the best young talent, and paying s***-tons of cash is number 1. Despite the ludicrous wages earned at the top two or three clubs, kids at Spurs and so, presumably, at Palace/Boro/West Brom will not be earning anything like that amount. We genuinely cannot afford it. Edit: I'm not sure that QPR of that time are the best yardstick either .
