  1. My Dad and I would occasionally go in the opposing ends if we couldn't get tickets for Spurs away back in the 80s and early 90s. We got pretty good at polite applause and generic comments. One of my favourite ever footy matches though was Boxing Day 1989 at home to Millwall. For some reason we couldn't get into the East Stand and I still don't know how but we managed to get tickets for the Millwall section in the Park Lane. I was 16 and was shitting myself a bit but kept schtum. Millwall looked OK for a bit but then Spurs took them apart and their fans just decided to take the piss out of their own team. We were all pretty loaded so it was just a fantastic atmosphere, although we did have to pretend to celebrate when they scored a consolation in the second half. I don't think I';d give someone a clout in that situation but I'd probably be giving them dog's abuse. Can't promise I'd not be giving it to a kid either
  2. It's been kinda great tbh. Almost feels like just sending Rotherham down and bringing up Portsmouth would be the best for everyone.
  3. Incredible last half hour.
  4. Can’t see them playing a full-strength team against you in the cup though.
  5. Yeah, I just checked and the price for five Emirates games at “Club Level” is £150. If I didn’t have to factor in the cost of a frontal lobotomy I’d be tempted. Again, no idea how many people actually go to the games though.
  6. 60K today. I saw half of them on the Tube. They had slightly more against Man U earlier in the season at the Emirates. That said, I believe they do a package pre-season for Emirates games. You pay £50 for five games at the beginning of the season. Half price or thereabouts for kids. Sold out obviously doesn’t mean they’re all there. Interesting though. Good opportunity to see football at a big stadium for a cheap price.
  7. More making the point that Klopp should be asking for a replay…like he did last time.
  8. I’m actually genuinely concerned about what the reffing for our game at Anfield will look like
  9. Soooooo…we replaying the Forest game now?
  10. I get it . I just don’t know how else to respond to ‘”Just bad luck” doesn’t feel right to me’.
  11. It's because (a) not everyone hates every draw, it's just that you've had a few away ones in a row which is weird (b) most people accept that it's just random chance, and that's fine. Just take your last few FA Cup draws. Before this season you were knocked out in the 3rd round three times in a row. Away to Sheffield Wednesday, then home to Cambridge, then away to Arsenal. In 2020 it was Home, Home, Away, Home. 2019 - Home, Home. 2018 Home, Away. What a suspicious number of home draws? Nah. Just chance. People are just venting because it's annoying, but adult enough to realize that it's not a conspiracy. IT IS JUST BAD LUCK.
  12. Gave you a thumbs-up without thinking what it might mean to reach a mutual understanding with Kaka
  13. Just popped in and it seems to be Kaka arguing with TCD, is that right? I mean... .
  14. Not sure if there's been a better candidate for a meteor strike since CPAC.
  15. Hang on, was that in response to me? I'm a bit confused.
  16. For me it was and always will be centre-mid. Ball can come at you from anywhere, you've got to be able to use both feet well to be effective, you need to be great on the ball and off it, you need incredible stamina. I played every position except anywhere on the right to a reasonable level. CM is the only one I really struggled with.
  17. Was gonna say - did Forest start as evens?
  18. Won’t that partly be because of the new rules concerning injury time etc?
  19. I don’t think there’s a sick bag in the world big enough for the aftermath of that.
  20. Arteta’s taken that directly from Pep. It’s so transparent, and all that lip service at the beginning of the season meant nowt. Refs have got to get on top of this - and fuck blue cards, they have the tools right now.
  21. I’d have to check, but I’m sure he’s come up with some nonsense about us before. Maybe not as obviously out of line. It’s usually just run-of-the-mill pro-Man U or pro-Ferguson stuff. It’s fascinating to see the contrast with others. Ian Wright is one of my favourites for being really enthusiastic like a fan but always fair and honest. Lineker usually nails it too. You don’t have to be entirely unbiased, but you don’t have to be snide.
  22. It’s how he rolls. There was an early-season on-pitch post-game interview with Neville, Carragher and Ange where Carragher and Ange were chatting normally and Neville just looked like a little scrote wanting to be with the big boys. There’s a line to walk as a commentator between objective and subjective and he gets it wrong more often than not.
  23. I mean, they’re all cunts, so I wasn’t really all that fussed what happened but if they hang on this will be funny at least. I’m not going to listen to any of the aftermath though.
