  1. @Froggy Who offered 40M for Greenwood?
  2. Went to Leyton Orient v Wycombe Wanderers last night. Support was what I expected - old guys and hipsters . Was good to be back. Neither side looked great, although the O’s really should have won it. They have a startlingly classy CB called Omar Beckles - turns out that although he plays for Grenada he’s a (very) local lad, has played for a million non-league teams and is apparently chairman of the PFA. Bonkers career.
  3. Yup. I think it was Clattenberg who tweeted about it on the BBC feed. As he suggested, managers and refs should get together and decide how it should be played. Might cut down on some whining.
  4. Can’t comment on your game but having seen our game against Everton, the discrepancies between that and the highlights they put together for MOTD were stark. It’s just not clear whether they decide on the narrative before editing or whether it evolves.
  5. It’s been a while since I’ve been to St James’ Park but the location of the away fans has always been a pet hate of mine. I do wonder if it contributes to the problem a little. If you’re doing well then the atmosphere is better than most because there are Newcastle fans all around the ground at pitch level. If you’re doing poorly then obviously the away fans are more vociferous, but if they’re hidden in an upper corner then maybe it’s harder to react to them/bounce off them?
  6. It’s never too late to change your opinion on an issue based on evidence.
  7. Todibo has “vested concerns” issues too: https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/tottenham-transfer-news-todibo-man-utd-ratcliffe-b1128654.html?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1703238166
  8. Is it just that BBC picture? Nuno looks like he’s drunk from the wrong Holy Grail.
  9. On more than one occasion this season I’ve wondered what would have happened had he come to us. Not that we were in the running, just that I really rate him and it feels like it might have clicked.
  10. loved that finish. Totally mugged him.
  11. Hilariously good Harry Kane finish.
  12. Came on here to post this. Great start. Only…didn’t Leicester hit their own post? What a cracking goal just now too. Brilliant game this.
  13. I was desperate for Nunez to get a double booking then
  14. Happy if that’s the reason. Just seems genuine and open-minded. Of course he loves Arsenal but he doesn’t pull bullshit like that Keown mixed XI or Gary Neville’s transparent agenda. A grassroots guy who loves football.
  15. This is starting to really annoy me - I am aware of two players who have been booked for simulation this season and they were both ours. And one of them wasn’t simulation. Players should be booked for clear-cut simulation every time. Can refs just please try not to be shit?
  16. These are my truths : Someone’s got to win a thing. If it’s not us, then who? Who’s the default I can cope with? Grew up North London. You were basically either Spurs, Arsenal or Liverpool so I hated them both. Happy for Man U to be a default i didn’t care about. Then Abramovich came in so Chelsea were first loathed, then fulfilled the “won the lottery so their success and “fans” mean nothing” role. Then Man City did the same only more obviously, and with the advantage of not being London. Then winning doesn’t mean anything to me, so they’re the ideal default. Now i’m torn. Man U and Chelsea being shite is funny but removes two defaults. City showing fragility might end up removing another. Of course I don’t want anyone else joining the party to make things harder so I’d rather not have you guys or Villa. That just leaves Liverpool or the Arse. I used to hate Liverpool more in the 80s then Arsenal overtook them. Now it’s a sort of reverse Sophie's choice. Have to go with Liverpool, sadly.
  17. Quite funny that I start off wanting Liverpool to win, then YNWA, the fans, the commentators, Nunez being a prick and it’s turned on its head. Not too fussed either way tbh.
  18. We pissed all over them and just couldn’t finish. Looking like Arsenal or Liverpool right now. Liverpool please *sigh*
  19. Finally Arteta gets booked for his bullshit.
  20. Really hope there isn’t a bad reason for this. Probably my favourite ex-Arsenal player. Not a lot of competition tbf.
  21. Someone posted Ange’s comment about that yet?
  22. I agreed with the guy who said Saka seems like a nice guy. Might have mentioned their good transport links too. Would have probably felt compelled to mention that that probably helped them move from South London.
