Well that’s my point . It is just.

Wonder if that helps their FFP a little. Without FFP I’d presume Arsenal would be paying 80-100M for a striker about now.

It’s only Jan 10th, there’s not a lot overtly going on yet. The miracle is that it’s Spurs doing it. Right lads, any of you Serie A experts seen much of this Dragusin guy? @ponsaelius

There’s a new Athletic podcast that covers it pretty well. IIRC RB Leipzig signed him then sacked the manager a couple of months later in late 2022. Then this year he had a few injuries and they signed some forwards which reduced his game time (there might have been a change in the tactics as well, can’t remember). He’s out of the German side with a home Euros coming up, which he’s desperate to play in and so needs games. Supposedly Ange convinced him and thinks he’ll play a big part. The podcast talks about a couple of reasons why his game might suit Ange. It also suggested that there weren’t really any suitable teams in Germany that might have taken him on. From Leipzig’s POV presumably they can get a high earner off the books who’s not really part of their plans, and they don’t feel they can get a good fee from anywhere. From our POV it‘s a bit of a no-brainer - he seems to fit the system, is experienced and direct, and if nothing else he can cover for Son over the next few weeks.

Lovely little move.

I kinda think you’re being completely insane here You’d have pissed it against Sunderland even with a couple rested, then had a perfect chance to be official “NE Top Dogs” against a similarly limited Championship side with the opportunity for revenge against Liverpool. And the chance to win a trophy for the first time in anyone’s life on here except Cronky. And the first proper trophy since before even he was born. Genuinely cannot understand.

Sunderland away surely? Bed wetting aside
-
Won’t lie, after Spurs came out I stopped holding my hand up to block the numbers and it was quite fun watching them scrabble around. You could see how close you came to getting a home draw
-
It will only really be funny if they miss out on Champions League again. That would mean only one visit in the last seven years, which given their spending would make FFP a significant problem for them.

Arteta: “When you are better than the best team in Europe…” All right mate. You do you.
-
Didn’t realize this at the time, but apparently Man U were so shit that we got some extra money because Ndombele (Galatasaray) qualified for the Europa League (or whatever it is). So they helped subsidise his wages and failed to get him in.
-
Won’t lie, I’m quite enjoying all these games spread out over a few days.
-
You’re not fooling anyone.

Lovely finish

Gonna book him for dissent then ref? Nah, didn’t think so.
-
This is the best they’ve played all season though. Don’t normally create anywhere near as many clear-cut chances. Looks like Arteta has been listening to his critics and has decided to take more risks. That that coincides with them copying our kit is no doubt just a coincidence. Just wondering when the PGMOL will get the email from Arsenal asking teams to stop tackling all of their players, not just Saka.
-
How are Arsenal not winning?
-
Tbf it would be funny if a ref went to give somebody a first yellow card and accidentally gave them a second one.
-
Am I the only one who thinks having numbers that you can’t see is actually a bit cheaty?
-
If they can’t beat us, join us. North London is white. Frenetic start is good for both of us. Frenetic start without goals even better.
-
Ooh forgot that angle. Now i want them both to leave their technical areas, get into a punch-up, and Arteta do a flying nut into Klopp’s teeth. Then they both blame the refs.
-
The one where the goalie lets it through his legs
-
Just saw the Cardiff missed penalties for the first time. Goalkeeper almost trolling them
-
What are you guys hoping for from Arsenal v Liverpool? Apart from the usual asteroid strike/red cards/injuries?
-
Yeah, it’s bizarre seeing people thinking 8th is your limit. Right now the league has a group of five, then a small gap, then a group of six. The top four are all still in Europe, teams outside that top 11 are taking points off everyone, and we’ve got the January transfer window. I still feel like anyone could make a run - good or bad. People got far too anxious about the derby but that comes with the territory. It’s a reminder that you’re not far off last year - the line-up was very similar to the one that finished last season. The competition at the top is tougher than it was then…but it’s tougher for everyone. All it would take for you, or us, or even fucking Chelsea would be a good run and suddenly you’re two or three positions higher and looking at the teams above you. I don’t think you’ll finish top four because you’re a long way behind and I expect at least two or three of the top four to go on a big winning streak. I think you’ve got every chance of finishing 6th at the very least though.
