Looked up our last two seasons defensively: 2011-12 2012-13 | 2011-12 2012-13 Conceded: Home: Home: | Conceded: Away Away | Clean sheets 9 4 | Clean sheets 6 2 1 goal 5 6 | 1 goal 5 6 2 goals 3 5 | 2 goals 1 8 3 goals 2 3 | 3 goals 3 0 6 goals 0 1 | 4 goals 2 2 | 5 goals 2 0 | 7 goals 0 1 + So we were far better at home in 2011-12, 5 clean sheets more, which have been replaced by us conceding 2 or more (4 times) & 1 goal (once). + The 4 clean sheets we had away have been replaced by many more times of conceding 2 or more last season. + (Though suprisingly we had less games last season where we conceded 3 or more away, which might have been useful if we hadnt weakened our strikeforce) ------ But yeah we also have a tendancy to get thrashed several times away from home under Pardew. In 2011-12 under him we did defend very well though, conceding 1 or less 25 out of 38 games. Giving us a very good chance to win those games with a half decent strikeforce.

Last season was just a mess for Tiote. Missed 7 of our first 8 with injury, plays another 4 and then gets sent off and out for 3 more etc Dealing with injury, lack of match fitness & then everyone saying you're a liability when you finally make it back. He went over the top trying to assert himself after a pretty rubbish/unfortunate start to the season. Just needs a good pre season, start afresh & to show the obvious ability he showed not long back.

Is it not just partly that income is related to a clubs status. In 96-97 we were finishing 2nd in the league, so it makes sense for us to still be pulling it in in 1998. Since then we havent competed at the same level, other clubs have had seasons that have much surpassed ours and they have started making more money in that time due to that. If we start competing at the top level again, im sure our income would rise & the bigger sponsors will jump on board. In recent times we've had lots of average/poor finishes & been mainly known for things going bizarrely.

Know the link is old but he looked better for them upfront last season than out wide. 5 goals in 5 at one point, before being dropped after 2 games without scoring. Not really going to build confidence in a player that.

i'm confident we can find a better RB than Debuchy for £10m. Im confident we'd get two CB for £18m that would replace what Mbiwa has brought to the table and £25m for either Cabaye or HBA is sensational money and we could replace for half that for each. If we are talking £5m for debuchy, £7m for Mbiwa, £10m for Cabaye or HBa then no f***ing way, its all about the fees for me and how we can invest again. Look i'd rather Pardew be sacked and not having this conversation, but the reality is he's here to stay and this is the future. Ashley will want to take advantage of the French money scenario and if it arrives at our door asking for players then its up to us to fleece them. Same goes for Russia, if they want Tiote or Cisse for daft money, take it. Think you're downplaying the role of influence/status current players at a club have on others wanting to join. Ben Arfa joining has played a big part in most of the following transfers, his status in france gave us a higher status as a club over there as did Cabaye following that. We dont have this everywhere, outside of that we're a club that finished 16th in the league. We may still find the odd player who simply wants to play in England, but its far slower than building your rep in one country and scouting the players there with the most potential who may actually join you.

Think Sturridge is underated due to how Chelsea used him. In his preferred position upfront for both Bolton on loan & Liverpool he hasnt stopped scoring.

Their forum: What a waste them winning was.

Nice finish, no marking

that was outstanding that

Woop woop! I definately follow this reasoning

We might need that Man City side to beat Norwich, thats 1 goal in 3 games now. Coasting out the season.

Wigan in next seasons community shield, decent start for Moyes
-
How has this even happened, deary me.

Aye, why was he so far off his line. Said it before but quite fitting it went over his head. If mancini hadnt dropped the taller goalie who got them to the final thats probably not a goal.

Wigan can beat Arsenal, we have to win
