The last few years have been his prime Well if what I watched in his last game v Norwich is his prime I'd hate to see what he was like beforehand. Did someone not say he dominated in that game earlier? He certainly didn't in the game I watched. A 33 year old journeyman striker isn't what we need right now and nobody on here will convince me otherwise. What do you think we needed? Not him. I'd rather we just stuck with Gayle, Mitrovic, Perez and Armstrong then bring him in to clog up the wage bill further. I just don't rate him at all, never have. Put it this way, if the mackems were signing him we'd be laughing at them. Right but theres saying you dont rate him and ignoring facts. He scored 27 at this level two seasons ago, whether you rate him or not he can obviously score goals at this level. I read a game ago that no side had put in as many crosses as us in the divison, he's clearly designed to be back up for Mitro. Armstrong will need time at this level, do we have that if we're chasing instant promotion? Carroll got his chance because Ameobi got injured, Loven wasnt in the squad at the start & Nolan was covering everyone for goals. Carroll took time to get going, its a lot to expect Armstrong will just start flying.

Villa? Gestede, McCormack and Ayew? I'd rather have our three. Pretty even tbh, they are also trying to get Hernandez. People keep talking about this. Hernandez is starting games & scoring at premiership level, why would he drop back down again? He could get more money doing well in the prem long term even if that was his sole goal.

We'll never make the champions league this season now imo
-
We're in the championship. We want to get out of the championship. We're looking to sign a striker with a good recent record...in the championship. What are you looking for? A striker proven at top league level so he can hopefully do well again..in the championship? Or you want someone who will do well at this level & then above? Whats the point when if we do get back up we'll then be in a better position to sign players?

He has 37 over two seasons at this level? Whats the expectation? We already have Mitro & Gayle who should be better than this level, another striker is obviously going to act as cover for them.

There can be a difference between whats realistic & what you'd be happy with. The reality is we're going into a game without a striker who's scored at this level or above any time recently. You could debatably still expect we should win regardless, think we've been shown that its not necessarily that simple though. We should be able to keep CS against most sides at this level imo & the odd goal from someone who isnt a striker is hardly expecting the world. They have players above this level though, Murray has goals at prem level for starters & looks a great loan for them.

I'm sure Leicester just did alright with a few lads that came from lower divisons, can't recall their names

I'm not angry i'm just disappointed

He'll need time, its a bit much to give him a single start and expect goals. He'll need to build confidence at this level & understanding with the others. He's young, how many instantly step up at 19? Carroll didnt, Kane didnt, not everyone is a Rooney/Owen who peak early.

Proven in what way?
-
How was Darlow from those that went? He seemed to have a fairly quiet game, handled things well?
-
Its a loan without an option to buy. Why we saying farewell? Is it not likely Rafa just isnt sure he'll cope in this league & wants to see how he does given consistant games?
-
Do we have a Perez/ear situation here like Vardy/Wrist. Keep him bandaged
-
Well this is going superbly
-
Well thats furthers the need for a winger
-
Could do with Aarons doing well tonight aswell
-
Yes but we rarely make things that simple, lets expect a decent game.
-
Yes, but its generally better if situations are made more attainable to achieve
-
Its hardly unpredictable to see who might have a decent chance though ffs. Dont get this "who cares its early in the season" stuff atall.
-
Well yeah its based on a persons subjective opinion. Some partnerships, form, confidence etc may not form in specific circumstances. Likewise that doesnt matter if we're not good enough to go up in the first place, it depends on your personal opinion doesnt it.

Benefits the team more in the long run if the right players are brought to their full potential?
