  1. Care to name them? HEHEHEHEHE He thought Best was left footed because he recently scored a hattrick with his left foot HEHEHEHE lets laugh at how stupid he is for thinking this. If I use laughing smile it will show how clever I am for knowing he is actually right footed. Hehehehe.
  2. Other end of the scale but the bit in bold is even more incomprehensibly retarded than Taylor's post in the Shola thread. Sorry, I actually meant 3 goals a game, and not 2! Yes, Shola's play is that damned awful. If Shola scored 3 goals a game we'd win every trophy going and he'd be worth £100 million.
  3. Well considering he scored 10 in 11 starts last season I don't understand what this inference is based on. That division is dogshit. The likes of Ebanks-Blake and Jason Scotland have ripped it to shreds in the past. Chopra is the Drogba of that division and Kevin Nolan was it's Lampard. If Shola could keep himself fit for upwards of 40 games he'd hit 25 goals, absolutely no doubt. With Shola's fitness problems lies the difficulty in him ever achieving this, obviously.

  5. Good. The man's a useless prat. Great for Inter and hopefully he can continue his shitty form for that lot.
  6. The single most insane, dribbling, rambling mess of a post I have ever read. Congrats.
  7. Shola hardly pissed on the championship he scored 10 goals ffs in 18 games. Boothroyd has scored 11,12 & 13* goals in the last 3 seasons in the Championship, so he's more prolific than Shola in the Championship 10 goals in 11 starts. That absolutely shits all over Bothroyds 1 in 4 career record at Championship level. Bothroyd is really not better than Ameobi and has a track record of being an absolute cunt, atleast Shola has the fact he's been a model Pro going for him. Like I've said if the management think he is past his previous troubles and capable of making the step up then it just might be worth the risk. However based purely on his career overall he shouldn't even be considered.
  8. £6 million is an insane amount of money to pay for a 30 year old Keane. That's worse than us at our most wreckless.
  9. Aye, but they're not paying him anymore. The wages under previous contract usually dictates to an extent the wages under his next employment. Unfortunately in the past we've been an exception to this norm. Based on what the media guess the player is earning? Based on simple economics. Second bit, I think it's a widely regarded fact that we have paid players over the odds. Murmerings from within the club over the old board aswell as the financial releases back this up.
  10. Also appears that Ismaeel Abdulatif of Bahrain has firmly place himself ion the running for topscorer because of this game.
  11. No pitches, infrastructure, people that care enough. Best give them the world cup though. 1.3 billion people and not a professional standard player in site. Rubbish. It'd be like asking why Americans are terrible at Cricket. They just don't play it. Not entirely correct, while cricket is obviously far ahead it's not as if football is simply not played. In certain regions Football is not far behind cricket in popularity and arguably even as popular. All schools across India actively play football. For example in West Bengal football is as popular as cricket, and when you consider that West Bengal as a region has a population of over 90 million people it's shameful that they struggle to produce a player of even professional standard. The appetite for football is actually quite high, if I remember correctly the viewing figures for the likes of the Premier League dwarf that of the UK. It's simply that the infrastructure and organisation of local football is abysmal. I also think somebody like Chopra (or Vikash Dhorasoo instead of having a handful of caps for France) would have been good for the game over there. Cricket having national icons like Tendulkar only drags further attention away from football and other sports. Having a player of professional quality might have helped to given kids somebody to identify with, but the Indian FA simply aren't going to have it apparently. Comparing cricket's popularity in the US to football's in India is not really a great comparison at all.
  12. Agree The England call up would have gave him belief as well. I think he is an upgrade, Reasonably quick and has a left foot like a hammer. If he can embrace playing for a top club he could be a very astute signing Pretty much my feelings as well. He isn't the mega signing or the young lad with years of potential, but he could do a surprisingly good job for us if he manages to make the step up. Just hope his head is in it and his attitude is spot on, because we can't afford to be rocking the boat. His career has an abnormally regular history of attitude problems.
  13. Anybody putting Smith in their line-ups wants shooting. Ronaldo levels of hyperbole justified in this instance.
  14. Quite serious. He's been out for nine months. Starting him would be ridiculous, never going to happen. Of course I agree that it's not going to happen. However I'd rather see Guthrie, Gosling or even Vuckic out there as opposed to Smith. Hence hanging onto any possibility that excludes that fraud from any potential line-ups.
  15. Aye, but they're not paying him anymore. The wages under previous contract usually dictates to an extent the wages under his next employment. Unfortunately in the past we've been an exception to this norm. He'd have likely been on around 5-10k at Twente, which is why I struggle to see him on over 20k here. Part of the reason our scouting system is in place to find this type of player is they wont add a lot to the wage bill. He is not a high profile and would have been happy to simply make the move to the Premier League. (apologies to Dave for discussing figures)

    Alan Pardew

i agree with most of that however he's getting slated for stuff that would have been defended in others. True. There is inconsistancies with regards to criticism. The same thing happens with certain players who are deemed as fan's favourites (I'll happily admit I've probably done this in the past) I just think he's a bit shit. Atleast with Hughton I identified him with the team on the pitch, with Pardew I barely even acknowledge mentally that he's manager of the team. Up to him to change this over time I guess (sigh).

    Alan Pardew

My general opinion on the man is that he's a bit of a dick who doesn't have the talent as a manager to justify his shitty character. Average manager and a poor character who is not the long-term solution to the club. Which makes the fact he is seen as the long-term, stable investment even worse.
  19. I hope both Coloccini and Barton take wage reductions and see the possibility of seeing out their careers here. They're not likely to be paid more anywhere else.
  20. Didn't see your post because it was all the way down at the bottom of the previous page. Should have just deleted it tbh. Har har hardy har.
  21. Highly doubt Tioté is on big wages like. Twente are a very strict, well run club financially. They wont have been paying much to a player who came from Belgian football and was regarded as a squad player. Be very surprised if he's on more than 20k.
  22. 1 in 4 in a career spent almost entirely in the second division. (1 half season in the Prem and a flounce in Serie A with Perugia the exceptions) What I will say is in linking to the post in the Williamson thread that some players simply do not reach their potential as a player till much later in their careers. There may be the chance that he can now make the step up, but it's a risk and one that to be honest isn't really worth taking on a 28 year old.
  23. He really isn't better though. Until this season he was rubbish even at Championship level. How can we expect him to make the step up seemlessly at 28 because of one little purple patch in the second tier? He's the same as the rest of our ragtag bunch of forwards in that he is barely worth allocating wages to. We should be shifting about 4 of them out not adding another ffs.
