  1. He just didnt have the consistant game that Zidane had, as a one off performance he could stand above anyone on his day. Remember his halfway line goal that pissed on Beckhams? Yeah i'd agree with the consistency thing. Rivaldo used to try something amazing everytime he picked up the ball, when it came off it was incredible, when it didn't he looked a bit silly. Aye that goal was awesome. He scored lots of awesome goals.
  2. Rivaldo was just as good as Zidane. Maybe not as classy on the ball but for pure effectiveness and entertainment value he was incredible. I think the Turkey incident and the fact he's sold out the latter years of his career go along way to distracting from just how good he was.
  3. Epic comeback by Villarreal here. Shame it's gonna be in vain.
  4. Yeah it'd kinda put alot of strain on your full-backs. Gary Neville was decent in an attacking sence, but he's nee Cafu.
  5. I'm supporting England, as you should Ideal world, England to beat Argentina 4-2 in the final, Collocini and Jonas scoring Argie's goals, and Collocini breaking Rooney's leg in the last minute. That's ridiculous. We can't play Argentina in the final.
  6. I'd agree. Cambiasso is not far behind though, sensational player.
  7. I would have Marcelo over Bastos, Ganso over Kleberson or Josue and thats all to be honest. The rest are expected and while i dislike Melo and Gilberto and there are 100 players who are better than them, they really do play well for the national side and have rarely let us down. Agree with that.....Bastos is great going forward but very poor defensively which is why he plays left midfield for Lyon (and before Lille) so Marcelo would be a more adequate left back. I read Gilberto has been playing as a number 10 type sometimes for his club side As for Ganso....wow looks a top class playmaker in the making...something that Brasil have been lacking in producing for quite a long time now. To be fair, Marcelo is an absolte liability at LB aswell.
  8. Distinct posibility. Maradona plays with 4 centre halfs at the back, and uses Jonas as a sort of defensive, workhorse like right sided midfielder to do all the dogwork for Messi and Veron.
  9. All suggestions are fine except for this guy. Gagoshit shouldn't be in the squad.
  10. No Zanetti and Cambiasso then. Maradona, you are a clown. Fuck you.
  11. They've genuinely surprised me. They actually play very good football, neat and tidy, but actually quite adventerous at times. The style of play certainly seems to exceed the players actual ability. I mean, when the hell has DJ Campbell been this good?
  12. From the BBC Live text, that must be unbearable. Anyway, come on Blackpool
  13. I cannot stand him. Terrible player that has made a consistently successful club career out of himself.
  14. Annoyed with Lippi's stubborness to call up Cassano like. I know he's always trouble but he would be grand entertainment at the World Cup, superb player. I mean, the likes of Borrielo and Rossi have nothing on him in terms of pure talent. Thought Miccoli would get in aswell, he's been sensational for Palermo this season. Overall though that's a pretty solid forward line for Italy, it's the defence that's worrying.
  15. That forward line is poor. What happened to Jermaine Jones throwing in his lot with the US? The Jermaine Jones of Schalke? He's already played for Germany so wouldn't he be unavailable to play at a World Cup? Nope friendlies no longer lock a player for one country. Jones was pretty determined that he wanted to play for the US, got the official documentation and everything.
  16. That forward line is poor. What happened to Jermaine Jones throwing in his lot with the US?
  17. Yeah Brazil are pletty blessed at RB. Similarly France are absolutely stacked at LB: Evra, Abidal, Clichy, Cissokho, Tremoulinas.
  18. Maicon is an absolute physical monster, very solid defensively in a flat back four but he also offers alot going forward. Infact I think he offers just as much as Dani Alves in attack. You just need to look at his statistics for Inter over the last couple of seasons to see how important he is for them. Serie A this season: GOALS 21 Milito (4) 12 Eto’o (2) 9 Balotelli 6 Maicon 4 Sneijder ASSISTS 11 Maicon 7 Sneijder 4 Pandev That is such a huge contribution. I admire Dani Alves aswell, however I truly believe the only attribute he has that outdoes Maicon is his set-piece taking.
  19. To be honest Dunga shouldn't really be questioned in terms of results so far. He's won everything put infront of him..Copa America, Confed Cup, WCQ group. I also doubt he'll be sacked after this if he doesn't win it. That team will get to the Semis at least, and that is reasonable success.
  20. I agree entirely Felipao. That is still a very strong squad, however I can see why people are shocked by the ommissions to the squad. He's stuck to his guns and selected the players who have stood him in good stead, and no doubt he will also stick to the same system he normally does. However many people who haven't watched Brazil under Dunga will be surprised by the lack of 'star' names and the number of 'flair' players that have been ommitted. Only thing I disagree with is when you say Alves is the best RB in the world. I think Maicon is better in almost every aspect.
  21. Rumour is Moratti is gonna offer Mourinho one of Gerrard or Fabregas in order to keep him at Inter. Of course this could be mindless speculation. I agree that they're the only two clubs abroad with the wedge available to sign him, and the need to sign him.
  22. Yeah it's official, I just watched the broadcast of Dunga announcing it.
