  1. There's more chance of Best or Ranger being put out wide tbh.
  2. He is : Subs: Williamson, Guthrie, Routledge, Alnwick (GK), Smith, Xisco, Ameobi, Lovenkrands, Vuckic, Ferguson, Henderson. Ah sorry, I'm listening to Radio Norfolk and they never said his name.
  3. Edmundsson!!! Forster not in the squad, looks on his way out on loan.
  4. Shola's scored more Premier League goals than lots of very good strikers, doesn't make him any better than them only that he's played like 100 games more. Any good striker is looking to get '1 in 2' etc, ratios mean a lot.
  5. Shola is better than Chopra though.
  6. Doesn't really define how good the player is, the fact he got played more. Goals per game is fairer, and Lovenkrands is visibly ahead in that sense. Chopra was shocking both games he played against us last season aswell.
  7. Neither are good enough to be relied upon in the Premier League. Lovenkrands had a better record than Chopra last season, though. Looking on the Football League site Chopra scored more league goals with 16, while Loven got 13. Chopra got 18 in 44, while Lovenkrands got 13 in 29. Taking into account substitute appearences and playing wide left Lovenkrands had the better record. Taking these stats off ESPN like, so dunno of the accuracy. Still the main point stands that they're both Championship players.
  8. Lovenkrands came off the bench a few times, played left wing 2-3 games and didn't have any pre-season of note. You can make compensations for both players, but they're both of a similar level really.

  10. Come on man, suspend reality a bit, you've got to enjoy these rumours whether they're bollocks or not.
  11. Thank fuck I didn't buy Vuckic 46 and decided to delay.
  12. Tbf I've forgived him for playing for Sunderland after that moment. I just think he's not good enough, and signing him would be a backwards step.
  13. Rumour is Werder only want him on loan... Again, speculation within speculation.
  14. Then get somebody other than Chopra. We don't want to go backwards, Chopra is too lightweight for the Premier League and too expensive for the average player that you end up burdoned with. He's crap.
  15. No, we have enough Championship level strikers.
  16. Probably will be, he made the provisional 30 at the World Cup, only to be cut. He's got 7 caps aswell. He'll go to Werder.
  17. Coventry fans are still laughing their tits off at getting cash for him.
  18. Kezman you seem clued up on Dutch football, I know we were briefly linked to de Guzman and I remember him being good on FM. What's he actually like IRL?
  19. Aye gone to Seattle, but not before having a bronze statue set outside Twente's stadium: http://www.soundersfc.com/~/media/C99A16C512064BB99F399F7A63F8A825.ashx?w=586&h=440
  20. Does anybody reckon if we did go for any Argentinean/Spanish speaking players having the amigos on board would actually have an influence towards them joining us? Probably would make a minimul difference.
  21. I meant more in terms of what he offered the team. He was a fantastic target man. Ruiz is fantastic though, him and Stoch combined got nearly 40 goals, admittedly 3/4's came from Ruiz. Yeah, N'Kufo was the figurehead of the team. Strange player though, up until 28 he was a journeyman in Switzerland, Germany and Qatar playing no more than 40 games at 10 different clubs...then just deciding to settle somewhere and become that clubs all time leading goalscorer.. playing over 200 games in the twighlight of his career. It was as if his career was backwards, Middle East at the start of his career, first World Cup at 35.
  22. N'Kufo was consistent throughout his entire career in Holland, his two seasons under McClaren were actually his worst. The reason they won the title was Bryan Ruiz, if he was behind that signing then hats off. Also he deserves massive credit for going with the Dutch style 4-3-3 rather than his defensive tactics of the past, and also for going with entirely Dutch coaches/staff instead of bringing across his own entourage. To be honest overall he's really impressed me, the times I saw Twente play last season they were really easy on the eye. Hope he has much success with Wolfsburg.
