Just imagine how fucking disasterous that would be. Our players trying to be moulded into that fluid, dynamic Chile formation.

That sounds like the most random fixture ever devised

I'd like to see us get Dos Santos on loan from Spurs if he doesn't dissapear off to warmer climes. Think given the game time he could do really well.
-
Assassins?
-
After the first scouting method (Youtube) failed to yield much evidence for him, I've fallen back on FIFA WC instead. He's fast as fuck according to this.
-
Just found a blurry, flashy Youtube compilation of him. Unsurprisingly he looks like a World beater on it.
-
Looks like he's about to fall over the whole time aswell.

My picture post had nothing with your post to do I just found the picture if someone wanted to see him. Remind me of this guy: Aye, they're practically dopplegangers
-
I mean more in terms of position, playing style and career record more than what he looks like.
-
Looks like another Pancrate.

Be a good signing for someone who is better than us. No. He's not good anymore. Hasn't been good for some seasons now. Not rated in the Swedish national team either. Fair enough. I just saw his age and his record and though he'd be worth a punt.

He's a right good player. Would be happy to see him in the Prem. Man City should have been in for a player like that instead of Yaya Toure, really baffling sometimes. Meireles is overrated and not proven at anywhere near the highest level. Toure was a mainstay in one of the best sides of the last 50 years. I can see why they chose Yaya.

You don't quite understand my point. He has a great record against teams of a similar standard to those we would face next season in the depths of the Premier League. If you think we can get a Drogba or a Rooney then feel free but I feel he was a very realistic, proven goalscorer. I do understand your point, the fact is you're wrong. He doesn't have a good record against teams of the standard we will be facing next season. He has a good record against Championship/League 1 standard teams. His record against the only Premier League standard opposition he's played against (Celtic) is shocking (1 in 27). Wigan, Bolton, West Brom, Blackpool are all miles ahead of Hibs, Hearts, Falkirk and Hamilton Academicals. Well I consider Celtic to be better than Blackpool, West Brom, Bolton, Stoke, West Ham and Wolves. Even if he scored half as many goals it would be priceless. I dunno like, even that's questionable. Celtic's transfer targets are Stoke and WBA cast offs (Lawrence and Koren). If anything I'd sayd they're of a very similar level. That's the point though, against the only comparable team to Prem standard he's done absolutely shocking, so bad to the point that Rangers often don't play him in Old Firm games because it's like playing with 10 men when he plays. The chances are he'd really struggle in the Prem, he has nothing to back his game up with when he inevitably fails against good opposition. There has to be a reason behind the fact that no Premiership team has gone for him, these teams have scouting networks (contrary to popular belief on here) who have obviously assessed that Boyd doesn't have anywhere near the attributes required to make it at a high level - there's reasoning behind why he's ended up at Boro along with all the other SPL exports. Another player from the SPL, Fletcher, who had nowhere near the same scoring record however had alot more assets to his game and had alot more ability to make the step up to a Premier League team. Hence why Burnley paid big money for him and subsequently Wolves also have.

Aye have last seasons with Cassano 99 on the back.

perhaps back up to routiledge (in a sense) in a right midfield role I'm still living in hope that we'll sign an exciting wide player. Then again I'm also secretly deluding myself into thinking we'll get a new midfielder and a top striker aswell

Why?
-
Right, so you think bottom half of the Premier League is equal to bottom half of the SPL?
-
Wonder if we've offered him a deal then. How old is he, 18?
-
Perch. Boyd is poor.
-
Think his record against Celtic and in the CL would hold up better than what he scores against low end Champ/League 1 standard teams. He's a really poor footballer, and if he couldn't replicate anywhere near his scoring ratio (he wont) then it would really like be playing with 10 men.
-
If he could have done better, he'd have signed for better. He's a pretty limited player, I could see why no PL club was interested.
-
Markus Rosenberg released by Werder Bremen. Meh, possible?
-
No chance, he was on a downward spiral when we bought him. Depor were laughing all the way to the bank with the money we spent on him, his flash in the pan season in the Cl was not indicitave of his entire career, and he certainly wasn't at that level when we bought him. You look how bleurgh his career was here and afterwards, there was no way he was ever gonna be turned around.
