Big beneficiaries of Swiss youth football development... or Switzerland are beneficiaries of Kosovar/Albanian immigration. Depending on your viewpoint.

It's a matter of perspective. Klinsmann was brought in with the promise of totally revamping how the U.S. plays football. He's done nothing but promise free-flowing, attacking football for four years, and save for a random game here and there where that's come true, we've largely been the same counter-attacking, beat-them-with-grit side we've always been. And I don't really have a problem with that, maybe it's 'our style' and we should embrace it, as there's nothing that says you can't have a good team that plays solid counter-attacking football. But at least be honest about it and give your team every possible opportunity to excel playing that type of football, which he hasn't done. Fair argument, makes sense.

As bad as he's been tactically or whatever, which you're probably correct about since you watch every game, I don't think he's necessarily fell short of what the US squad's potential is. Last 16 of the WC after coming out of a very strong group was a good effort. They were all over the place for a while in qualifying, but they've clearly got a more talented pool of players IMO. They also seem to be coming out of their shell in terms of moving to European clubs despite having a strong/lucrative league at home.
-
The US have about as many players having a solid crack at European football as Costa Rica do, and if you take away the Deutsch-American lads and the likes of Johansson it becomes an even grimmer picture. It's not a good record. I know there is a desire for a stronger MLS but that can happen in time. Europe is the holy grail.

Only first post was trolling, last 2 have been accurate critiques

What did Bradley do that Klinsmann hasn't? Last 16 of the WC and being edged out by Mexico in Gold Cups/head-to-head games. That's pretty much the ceiling of the US squad.
-
In the current squad US have 1 Bundesliga player, 4 lower PL ones (2 of which are goalkeepers) and the rest play in MLS or lower divisions. Only Fabian Johnson will be playing in the CL this season. That's clearly problematic. I know there's players in the MLS who could play in Europe, but the fact the likes of Bradley and Dempsey chose going back to being big fish isn't great for the NT tbh.
-
Klinsmann has struggled with a very limited talent pool. A 2-3 defeat to a vastly superior Mexico team is an excellent result for the #USMNT.

shut up idiot

Obviously only people with a vendetta would leave out Neymar Jr

Mata wasn't in the Guardian's top 100 last year and was 78th in FourFourTwo's. He scores a pointless 90th minute goal against Sunderland and a pen against Wolfsburg and all of a sudden Froggy has him cruising into the top 20. Unbelievable.
-
Mata has been shite for Man Utd. He's a dwarf legged waddler who flukes reasonable numbers with goals/assists against garbage outfits despite never controlling a football match since he moved there. De Gea Pique Ramos Alba David Silva Iniesta Busquets Koke Cazorla Fabregas Alonso Thiago Alcantara Xavi Pedro Diego Costa All better than Mata and that's just Spain.
-
Spain have got at least 10 players better than Mata on their own.
-
But like you say Austria have already qualified and Montenegro are still scrapping for play-offs. It was only 1-0 in Vienna as well.

Nowt between them really. Both made up of lower Prem and upper Championship players. With the exception of perhaps Coleman and McCarthy, none of either squad could cut it at good CL level clubs. They're small countries so they're obviously not going to produce loads of talent. But the thing is they'd probably be better off with 1 or 2 top quality players and a load of shite than what they currently have which is ~25 ordinary footballers. Scotland are living proof that graft over quality is a fallacy. You'd be better off having some genius dragging the shite along with him. Look at Bale for Wales. Or when George Weah nearly got Liberia to a world cup.

what a way to damn with faint praise

Cavani is frustrating as fuck. Can't stand watching him for PSG at times. Too inconsistent to be a top 10 for me. Absolutely fantastic on his day though I agree he's not top 10 or whatever but people constantly make out that he's shit. He scored 31 goals last season despite playing out of position for Ibrahimovic half the time. There's also this thing about him apparently flopping against English teams in Europe, but he has 5 in 8 in the CL against City and Chelsea.
-
Why does everybody hate Cavani. Poor cunt has been playing out of position since he signed for PSG and still been prolific. He'd walk into any PL team.
-
Dunga is fucking shite. It's like England reappointing Capello.
-
Croatia is smaller than Scotland and their midfield all play for Barca and Madrid ffs.
-
But why can't Scotland can't produce a player like that. They used to produce world class players, now they don't. They've perfected producing a squad of 25 average try hard shitcunts.
-
Scotland just have absolutely no quality whatsoever. Squad full of average players. If they could develop just one Champions League level player they'd have a chance.

Andy Frog is crap. Consistently a liability for Inter.
