Why is Wenger mental?, Ba would never fit into a system like arsenal, their fowards inter-change and move all over the place, most importantly they are comfortable on the ball when they receive it which is used to bring midfielders into play. Ba's strengths are not those attributes. Eh? Have you seen who Arsenal have upfront? Ba's movement and ability on the ball is superior to Giroud, Walcott, Gervinho and Chamakh. That's without even mentioning all the other things he's better at. they usually play with one man upfront, Ba is a better finisher for sure , but you seriously think he would fit in as the main foward in a arsenal system? he would have to interchange move about, thats not his game, and his ability on the ball is less than average, how often do you see Demba Ba receive a ball and successfully pass to a team mate? not very often. and he's not very good at holding the ball up either. his strengths are getting on the end of long balls and crosses to convert towards goal, something that arsenal dont do very much. His strengths only look that way because of the way we play. He's a lot more of an intelligent mover and technical player than all of Arsenal's forwards apart from Podolski. He'd fit into that team easily and be a massive improvement on most of the idiots in their forward line. To suggest otherwise is ridiculous and I guarentee every Arsenal fan would agree.

I think his link up play is poorer than a lot of the other top strikers, but generally I agree. He has a lot to his game.

I can accept it for years of lesser achievement like 2006 when it was given to Cannavaro, but at the moment the gap between the top 2 and everybody else is so big it is absurd that anybody else should win it. Villa had a broken leg, Pedro looked out of sorts for most of last season, Iniesta had injury and form difficulties, Pique and Puyol both missed large spells of the season, Fabregas vanished from around December onwards... and so forth. He basically blew the 'can't do it without Xavi/Iniesta' myth out of the water as he carried all of them on his back. There's absolutely no way Barca would have got anywhere near Madrid if he hadn't have hit the heights he did. Real Madrid's next best goalscorers after Cronaldo were Higuian (22) and Benzema (21) both without taking a single penalty whereas Barca's next best was Sanchez on.... 11. Personally don't think there's that much difference between the personel on paper; both have quality players but also a lot of squad players who'd get nowhere near a genuine title challenging team. The difference is that Bobby had a team playing confidently to their strengths that was more worried about our own gameplan than what the opposition was doing. It's also interesting that both teams (11/12 and 02/03) had significantly worse GD than the other teams around them.
