  1. so a team who cant afford him should benefit from his services to the detriment of their competitors ? why ? it's only helping the larger clubs hoover up and hold on to the talent, if they couldn't do it he may be tempted to go to a villa or fulham for regular football and surely that would help the game in general ? This. Abolish the loans and limit the squads. If that happens Chelsea either play Sturridge or he demands a move to another Prem team.
  2. Fair Play. The 3 fair play teams get dumped in the first round.
  3. Chelsea winning the Champions League would give the average league coefficient for England a slight boost. Our ranking is built entirely on that so with us being potentially very close to the cut-off for seeded/non-seeded mebz we could do with Chelsea winning. Malcolm?!
  4. Looking at that, if we do get through chances are we'll be pot 3 for the group stages.
  5. Just been having a little deeks at that dutch site. I think we should be seeded like looking at it, but it will be touch and go. This year: http://kassiesa.home.xs4all.nl/bert/uefa/seedel2011.html Next year: http://kassiesa.home.xs4all.nl/bert/uefa/seedel2012.html
  6. Pretty sure we go in Play-Off round regardless of outcome.
  7. 3rd and fourth goals we were playing 3-5-2.
  8. For me, none of our players are suited to the 4-4-2. Ben Arfa is not suited to playing wide in it, Jonas isn't productive enough as an orthadox wide man, Ba and Cisse don't seem to gel as a partnership and both are very poor at recieving the long-balls and holding up play. Cabaye looks far more effective when pushed forward from midfield. When Marveaux gets back he's the kind of playe who can drift and play in and around forwards. He's got good crossing technique but he really doesn't strike me as a flying winger.

We need backup for Tiote with ACoN again, tbf.
  10. Exactly its quite frankly rubbish that 4-4-2 is harder to score against if anything its more open than 4-3-3...... We also pass the ball alot better in 4-3-3 and as the old saying goes " if you dont have the ball you cant score" I fail to see how 4-4-2 is more solid defensively..... the 4-3-3 goes into a more compact 4-5-1 without the ball aswell. It's more flexible, fluid when going forward and compact when defending.... i fail to see a downside. it's more the personnel and their compatability to the system than the system itself. for all i've been saying all season about not playing two upfront, it's been more so down to what i believe would get the best out of the personnel we have rather than believing one system is generally better than another. given other players i may well think 4-4-2 may be better for us. This absolutely. It suits the players, they're more confident in it and as a result we look more composed and fluid. The defence being better is just a byproduct of that.

    Coming into form, contract extension.
  12. Cabaye speaks good English. Doubt it would be hard for him to learn 'son of a whore'. Can't imagine Cahill losing his shit or Cabaye feeling moved to formally apologise over 'son of a whore' to be fair. Me neither but Zach reckons it was mother-based slander innit so just a guess. Where did you hear that btw Zach?
  13. I remember watching entire games at that WC and forgetting he was playing apart from when he took a set-piece.
  14. Harder to score against. Didn't we concede 1 in 6 playing 4-3-3?
  15. Ah shit. Welsh Prem innit. Doesn't have any in Cardiff.
  16. Cabaye speaks good English. Doubt it would be hard for him to learn 'son of a whore'.
  17. Gourcuff was absolutely rotten at the last WC and has never recovered since form wise.
  18. This will make Germany the only country in Europe without a team from the capital city in the top flight.
  19. Aye, that's all I can think of. Unless he'd done his research and it was Samoan based insults.
