It does matter though because Gomes shouldn't have been booked if the sub was ready to take place. If everything was set up and the sub was waiting to come on then Gomes wasn't timewasting. The fact that he was booked for timewasting and then sub takes place doesn't make sense; he can't have been wasting time if he was just waiting for the player to come on. The time was always going to be added on but using that argument then you shouldn't book anybody for timewasting.

He can't just not let the sub go on. Course he can. If they weren't ready with the sub when play stopped then the game should carry on. It doesn't make sense booking him and letting the sub take place.

How come Gomes got booked for timewasting and then the ref let the substitution take place?

The Spurs title charge is in full flow. ONLY seven points behind Man U and ONLY played one game more!

That's what a proper CB should do, and Tiote should move back to cover Colo's position. Not really, just let Tiote pick up Tevez when he drops deep then we keep our shape. Well to be honest Tiote is marking Yaya Toure. I understand your point but to let Tevez turn on the ball easily and run at Colo/Saylor is extremely dangerous. Their 2nd goal is pure quality. Let it go. I think you can use either tactic really and a midfielder could drop back but our tactics seem to be based around keeping our shape. We don't do crazy pressing and players try to stay in position, Colo seemed to go against that today. He was good after the first 10-15 mins but it was bad start to the game.

Why the hell did Coloccini keep following Tevez out of defence at the start of the game? People can predictably slag of Taylor all day long but Coloccini allowed himself to be dragged out of position a few times in the first ten minutes and their players were just running into the space behind. Coloccini redeemed himself by putting in some good tackles but its pathetic to single Taylor out for the bad defending. Once you have a scapegoat though...

Ronaldo is just doing what he did with Carroll, slagging him off knowing it will spur him on to become top class.
-
You can't argue with Nani's stats though, especially considering Rooney has been misfiring. Barton has been great but I dunno if he's been the best in his position.
-
I'm not sure Barton deserves to be there. Ahead of Nani or Brunt? Only Newcastle player I would put in would be Carroll, Tiote at a push.

Yven 'eht nioj' Moyo is playing tonight against Man U reserves.

Aye. Might as well close the place down, I mean we're not qualified to discuss anything People can discuss all they want.

This forum is not only packed with football experts but also mental health experts. Good to know.

To think some on here didn't even want him to start this season...crazy.

Isn't the point here that he didn't have much money? He bought Danny Simpson for less than £1m, hardly a bad buy.

v Bolton they had Smith and Guthrie in midfield. Sol and Saylor had Tiote in front of them and still looked sh*t. Willicini is the only answer. It was still stupid individual mistakes, Colo getting owned by Elmander is nothing to do with Smith and Guthrie playing, even if we are losing the ball further upfield. What about Blackburn then? That defensive embarrassment? Our apparently flawless Williccini weren't flawless then. Again, both embarrassed by Jason Roberts... I've said it before but the Taylor criticism on here is pathetic and it clouds people's judgement IMO. I like Colo and Williamson but I can't have people slagging of Taylor just for the sake of it.
-
But good the rest of the season, especially Coloccini. Colo should definitely be straight back in. Agreed. I also think Taylor has done well since he came in. No-one on here will agree but I'd go for Colo-Taylor still.
-
Coloccini and Williamson were even worse against Bolton.

What so playing alongside Taylor makes you forget to look at the ball, allow it to pass over your head numerous times or occasionally let the thing smack you on the back? Playing alongside Taylor increases the pressure as while the Geordie Hero plays superman, the other defender is split between covering him, or doing their own responsibilities. With all that, you are likely to be caught out in defence often. Meanwhile Taylor gets off scot free with the fans because you see him doing glamorous stuff, he never learns from his mistakes or takes responsibility for his actions. He is the first to criticise or point their finger at the other defenders Basically he is the last remaining of the odious unpopular players that got us relegated and the sooner we get rid the better. Any examples of this in the last few games? All of Campbell's mistakes have been entirely down to him. How is heading a ball straight to a Liverpool midfielder Taylor's fault? Or letting the ball hit his back? What were the reasons for the shit defending against Bolton? Taylor was nowhere to be seen and yet Coloccini and Williamson managed to make themselves look like the worst CB partnership in the league. We've conceded two goals against Liverpool and Chelsea and three against West Brom when everyone played badly. If Taylor is so bad don't you think we'd be conceding a few more? It's not like Campbell has been making last ditch challenges to cover for Taylor, if anything, the chances that Liverpool did miss were mostly down to Campbell mistakes again (see the Torres one v one for example).

Agreed, we need Jonas running at and skinning Carr at every oppourtunity. He should be able to get past him at will. Cut inside or get to their byline. Based on what? He couldn't even get the better of James Perch. He's got the better of more accomplished right backs than James Perch. He's hit and miss (mostly miss these days it seems) but if he's on his game there's no reason why he can't 'rape' (to use Pardew phrase) Carr again and again.

Didn't even know Sodje was injured.

Stability's only become a real issue in the last 6 days. That we know about, yes. And even if not it still applies. I think the fact that Hughton wasn't given a no.2 in six(?) weeks shows all was not well. I didn't really pick up on it myself but to anyone at the club it would be obvious something was up.

Jose's proper panicking, bless him.

Fair enough. I really rate Kadar but I'd still rather have Taylor ahead of him in the pecking order at the moment. As for the contract situation, Taylor might be being a dick, who knows, I'll reserve judgement for now especially considering those in charge.
-
He did? Taylor was pretty much faultless in the first half of the Championship season and since he's came back he hasn't done much wrong. Campbell has been shaky and cost us a couple of goals. I don't see the point in arguing this point because too many people are blinded by their hatred of Taylor on this forum but I think it's pretty sad some of the jibes at him. I'd have been furious is Taylor wasn't capable of playing at Championship level given the amount of time he's had bluffing his way through games in the top flight. For a player that had never had the chance to prove himself at the top level Williamson's performances in this year have been very good, save for the odd moment. I don't think it's up for debate who the better defender is out of the two. Taylor was f***ing awful yesterday, both our centre backs were. There was quite a few occasions when he switched off and played Liverpool onside. Simpson had a right go at him at least twice because he was dicking around and letting them in. Taylor's response? He waved his armed around a bit, gestured to the rest of the back four to push up and then did the same thing again a few minutes later. It's not up for debate who's better out of the two? I give up. Thank God for that. What's with the attitude? Your bird get shagged by Taylor or something?
