It's one game. Away at a decent side, which they didn't lose

Three names, no Mike Ashley and you randomly pick Dom Littlewood. i loved that, i thought it was only me that found him an annoying little fucker, small man syndrome cunt I can't fucking stand the annoying bald nonce. Al Moody off here knows this so he wrote to his agent before my 30th saying I was his biggest fan etc. I ended up with a personalised signed photo. Funny fucker

It's bollocks that what a manager says to the press isn't necessarily exactly what he thinks? And also that what he says to the players might be different behind closed doors? You honestly believe that? And I do think he's said some daft things btw, particularly saying 'judge me after x games' which was just setting himself up for embarrassment if we had a bad start, and the 40 points party thing is weird. Your peeve was that manager's quotes aren't worth dissecting and I absolutely think they are. To say comments have no real effect on players is laughable, we've seen evidence to the contrary for years. Positive (Keegan) and negative (Pardew) clearly do.

Dreamt that Karl Darlow scored from 20 yards out just before half time to make it 1-0. Not sure what he was doing that far up the pitch, or even on the pitch given he's injured. -
Aye there was a big scandal around Speed's departure from Everton, it's all on NUFC.com. Anyway RIP, his glory days were a bit before my time but he was a very good manager by all accounts.
-
That's not very nice of him.

And rightly so, because it's bollocks. At best the tripe Pardew came out with was simply antagonising to fans and the comments systematically built up to play us down as a club so it made it look like he was doing a better job than he was. At worst it gave the players an excuse to approach every game with trepidation and fear and performances would suggest that was the case. If either of you fancy telling me how some of Pardew's worst quotes served to motivate or deflect pressure, or the same with McClaren's recent ones for that matter, then I'm all ears.
-
It's a special quote like. As much as I have no time for the antics of wantaway players such as Sissoko, the difference between pushing for Europe and McClaren's attitude there are like night and day. Exactly the reason the likes of Perez, Mbemba and Mitrovic will leave the moment they've outgrown the club, and it's exactly what the people running the show at NUFC deserve. Unfortunately it's also exactly what they want, for us to tread water and remain profitable.

She can fuck off for the Pardew comments tbf, dunno who the fuck she thinks she is.
-
Yet another example of him saying stuff that sounds vaguely clever on the face of it to misrepresent his own talent and achievements. Hope him, Tim Sherwood and Dom Littlewood die in a tsunami.

I agree with Kaizero, football was much more interesting in the mid-90s and it's become more and more formulaic and boring. In this country at least, but you could certainly say the same about Italy and maybe Spain.

The guy's absolutely shat himself. I wasn't even very worried but now I'm worried. Bloke is talking like we're fucked when he should be talking about how we're going to blitz the next 6 games.
-
Wow. Fucking wow man. Guy's heel turn has been fucking epic.
-
Never was imo. That type of player couldn't be. Absolute star in the highest sense regardless though.
-
Had no idea whatsoever that he was still playing.
-
It can be a distraction like, Steve.

That is absolutely fucking ridiculous. So embarrassing. -
Eh, we're on about the 20 points comment, or I thought we were. Nothing positive about that comment whatsoever.
-
 What an absolute prick.

Exactly. It's harder to break down a team that is set up not to be broken down, when you're devoid of a patient but effective game plan that will do the trick. It's not necessarily about being more up for it against stronger sides, it's more about us never developing a style of play that doesn't revolve around feeding off scraps.
-
Really annoys me that people always put this down to players only giving a fuck against the stronger sides. For years it's been clear that we don't know what to do when the onus is on us to attack. It's really fucking basic stuff tbh. People go on like every game is the same, except some teams are stronger than others. It's no surprise we struggle to break down weaker teams if our best moments are generally around counter attacking stronger teams with pace and guile. Just seems very basic, all this.

Aye we're on the same page then. When you start picking points estimations out of the air in this situation you can guarantee that'll be the headline though - you'd think he'd be smarter than that, especially given he was the England manager.
