  1. It's not that strange a thought from BG given that in the aftermath of the last England tournament game several of our players were racially abused.
  2. It's Iran. Plus there's more than one way to win a football match. People are within their rights to question selections etc based on what they've seen previously, unless they're supposed to just not watch any football in between tournaments? We have been pretty good so far though, against poor opposition
  3. Was mostly a back 4 in the Euros and he was alright. The WC in Russia was a back 5 the whole time I think.
  4. Presumably Maguire's horror show vs Germany wasn't enough to leave him out then. Southgate waiting for him to fuck up in a big game instead. Generally the lineup looks OK but Mount has a lot to do to persuade me he's not a waste of a shirt for England, and hoping we see something beyond sideways passing from our 2 defensive midfielders. Same old, basically

  7. I'm curious about what the atmospheres will be like at the games now. If the vibe is proper flat then I doubt it'll be a very good tournament.
  8. Didn't realise he was a Qatari, Arab, African, gay, disabled migrant worker tbh. Fair do's.

  10. Pele doesn't seem to get mentioned that much these days, there was intense debate back in the 90s when I was growing up about who was the GOAT and most said Pele but Maradona seems the main one mentioned now. Definitely must be an era thing where the voices in the media now weren't alive to see Pele, similar to how 66 isn't mentioned so much these days when it used to come up in British popular culture constantly.
  11. I'll always hate them going back to when we were rivals in the 90s and the Shearer thing encapsulates why. The absolute arrogance of thinking you have the divine right to sign an elite player who instead went to a comparable quality side which he had a deep local and family affinity with. Wankers.
  12. Dangerous as fuck watching football while you're driving, mind.
  13. Fifa have been mugged off again then. Didn't realise til I read yesterday that the first game of the tournament was moved from Monday to Sunday, to give Qatar the first day to themselves. At Qatar's request, 3 months before the tournament
  14. Only seen bits and pieces of him and he looks good, but it's definitely leaving Arsenal in the Mudryk that makes this one proper appealing.
  15. Found a better source: it is actually on Sky's website now: https://www.skysports.com/carabao-cup-fixtures
  16. Might have missed this elsewhere but seems the TV fixtures have been selected for the League Cup 4th round? Man Utd -Burnley on the Wed, Man City-Liverpool on the Thurs, all other games on the Tues it seems.
