You definitely didn't react well to his appointment, I meant a bit further down the line. Fuck this shite for a laugh tbh. I do feel the need to ask whether this was a joke though, can't work it out. http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,72878.msg2848222.html#msg2848222

He played attacking football at home to Villa and Sunderland, resulting in scorelines of 6-0 and 5-1 in games where we tried and succeeded to score goals from the first minute to the last. So in a quarter of the home games he had in the Premier League (managing a team that had just been promoted and had barely brought anyone else in) we smashed teams in entertaining games. So "he only really played attacking football at home in the Championship" is completely false. Re Pardew it didn't take long at all for your position to "soften"", it certainly occurred long before most had and before we'd many seen any decent results. Will see what I can dig up, I'd not bother but saying I'm "confused or making things up" is obnoxious for no reason whatsoever.

Beat Villa 6-0 and the mackems 5-1 in his first few months as a PL manager, in the days before we stopped attacking and shut up shop when 1 or 2 goals clear. At home we were beaten by Blackpool, Stoke and Blackburn and drew against Wigan and Fulham. A defensive approach was blamed for most of these results. Anyway, now's not the time to kick the dog. He had less than half a season in the Premier League with us and led us to those 2 hammerings and also great results at Everton and Arsenal, amongst other decent results. There is nowhere near enough evidence of him doing a crap job or overseeing crap football for you to be so conclusive about him. You've just got a chip on your shoulder about him, not sure why since everyone else seemed happy enough. Can distinctly recall you being happy we'd sacked off Hughton for a "proper manager", well suffice to say I disagree(d) with that. See little to no difference between them in terms of overall managerial ability, but one is an absolute prick and the other isn't. Know who I'd rather have.

Think Billy Furious packed it in, they certainly wouldn't have got rid of him. Love his writing. You can get the last issue of The Mag here for £3 with free postage if you live in the UK, I've just ordered one: http://shop.themag.co.uk/collections/magazines/products/the-mag-issue-289-5-april-2014 You can also get back issues with free postage.

Only read the odd one these days, but still pretty devastated. Grew up reading them, I used to sell them outside the ground as well. Had a few articles published in The Mag when I was about 16 and I was beyond chuffed.

France taking this guy to the World Cup.

If you care about the club - don't attend the Swansea game

I've already given him mine so can't do anything in that respect, I can still decide not to go against Swansea. I was more on about the fact he's signed up for next season really. Give him another 500 quid for next year but don't turn up to one of our remaining games. Bit odd. -

This would be great but for some reason people turning on Pardew is not happening?!! I'm not sure why but it seems a fair few are incapable of seeing that both Ashley and Pardew are culpable. It's either the owner at fault or the manager. Bizarre. -
It's difficult to say, I lean towards the idea that he's bought into Pardew's "opinion" that decent cup runs mean signing more players or risking relegation.

Giving him your money then not going seems a bit weird tbh. -
Reminded me of this article in Friday's Metro, was amazed we didn't get a mention: http://metro.co.uk/2014/04/04/football-fans-can-deal-with-suffering-just-dont-ever-let-it-be-dull-4688725/ I am truly amazed by the lack of coverage and basic understanding of the situation Newcastle fans find ourselves in by all but a few media sources. Even local radio stations are clueless about how the real fans feel and quite frankly the national media couldn't give a fuck. We just suffer on in silence. People at work ask me about the football and I tell them it's fucking desperate, without fail I get a response along the lines of "You must be really pleased you're top half though".
-
Not if it means we get in Europe, or have a manager that stands up to the owner in any sense. I'm not sure what Pardew could do to make Ashley want to bin him tbh.
-
Just copy and paste it, midds.

Cheers, the 4 goals or more thing though, can't find it. Think it was something like 7 or 8 such defeats in 4 years under him and 5 of them in the 16 years previous.
-
What was that thing the other day off Twitter that said we'd been beaten 5 times or so 4-0 or more in the PL before Pardew, and loads more than that in the few years he's managed us?
-
Thought the same, bit of an oxymoron like.
-
Or perhaps that's really just his point of view? This arrogant rubbish is the exact reason why this thread is so crap. And telling people that their opinions against someone are irrational or mental isn't arrogant? This thread is crap because people are still trying to bring a reasonable defence to the table for Pardew despite there being none, and people like you coming in all chilled like "It's just his opinion, man" Fair enough, this is my opinion, I reckon it's fucking rubbish, and people who are sick to their back teeth of the bloke managing us are obviously going to find it pretty antagonising.

You mustn't have attended any of the recent games then? What? The answer is no home games, I go to away games only. And only a handful of those this year too. Did go to Stoke at home but was given the ticket, so f*** it. Ironically enough Ian frequently doesn't watch the games at all but still pops in here to tell people they're overreacting. You're one the submissives then Lining the Fat Man's pocket, however you try and dress it. By going to the odd away game? You know that ticket money goes to the home side, yeah?
