Welcome to the dark side. Ironically what many of us have been saying on here for the last few years. Although you have articulated it very nicely, whereas here it's been mostly along the lines of "piss off you cockney cunt". Nope. Last paragraph says why that's not true. I wasn't saying owt about your article (haven't read it yet), just disagreeing with the idea that posts written about this on N-O are largely inarticulate. Plenty of posters have expressed their view perfectly well.

Knee-jerkers.

They just make it up as they go along man - soon enough people will forget the 1 or 2 players quote, same as they forgot we were following the Villa model, or the Arsenal model...

Great summary of the situation at present.

Strange question, clearly the answer is that it would be entirely dependent on who the new owner was and their intentions. I personally just want a change, I can feel my enthusiasm for it draining by the month. One consideration though is that Ashley will doubtless try to fuck us on his way out.
-
For Pardew, it's 52 defeats (at a very quick count), so 36.5% of defeats are by 3 clear goals. More than a third. Jeeeesus.
-
Would also like to see the percentage as a proportion of defeats rather than games personally. It seems we love a tight win but can't avoid a heavy defeat.

Achieving their "target" without having spent anything since January 2013 is ideal, that's how they'll be looking at it.
-
No. As repeated in the statement, the target for this season was/is a top 10 finish. I'm sure they'd be over the moon at having to pay bonuses out to the staff and players. Not sure what you're saying, do you know for a fact there's a bonus? "At the beginning of the season all our staff and players were incentivised should we finish in tenth position and above, and our commitment to achieving this will continue right up until the final whistle on 11th May. Ah, missed that one. Let's say it really exists. Why offer a bonus? Did they think that a top 10 finish was out of the question? Doesn't really make sense. Not sure what's difficult to understand - we finished perilously close to getting relegated last year, which meant we had to spend money on transfers. Never again.

Memorised it word by word, Jesus.

Still pisses me off that they said they wouldn't sell any advertising space because nobody would give them 100million-odd quid for it.

Not sure what Lee's said wrong there tbh.

That's mint. It's a good idea. But couldn't they have filled the entire thing up with things he's actually said? I think it's a nice mix of fact and fiction, people who don't read/hear his rubbish won't know what's real and what's not.

"Blame the Europa League, blame the Human League..."

That's mint.

Agree tbh, still feels like a shame though, especially with them saying they were doing fine before the distribution situation changed. Used to still read them now and again and have a bit of nostalgia about the whole thing.

The reason I was going on about it was because many of us were questioning why we'd swapped Hughton for Pardew when for a considerable time it didn't look like an upgrade at all, however there were a few in early 2011 saying he was indeed an upgrade and was doing a better job than Hughton had, which I completely disagreed with. The season we finished 5th I think everyone started giving him a break, the results were excellent and performances even started following towards the end of the season.
