He's been slow for about an hour man.

Does Steve Lomas still look like an absolute bell end?

He's watching the 3 players he mentioned. He's not suggesting all of our players are good at it, that's why it's one of our main training focuses at the minute. Well maybe if he played Marveaux a little more instead of putting f***ing Perch in, it wouldn't have been as bad. See i like this kind of post, it sums him up. Pardew says something and the reality is completely different. The bloke refuses to let the team play and then moans we don't play enough. What a cock. Pardew's obviously had a re-think over the Summer, he can only be proven a hypocrite on what he's currently saying after he's had his chance. True, doesn't explain playing hoofball in the friendly the other night though, of all the times to try something different it's then. He knows no other football, direct unlikable, percentage ugly, whatever you call it. He's a poor Fat Sam. It would seem illogical to me that he would set up to play passing football one match and then the antithesis the next. It may have possibly been other factors not in his control. I understand your frustration and where you're coming from but, personally, I'm prepared to give him a little bit more of a chance to see what he comes up with. Same really. If he believed 100% in negative, conservative football I don't see why he wouldn't just say something like that. I know the evidence of the football we've played isn't great, but let's see what he's learned this season. It benefits him massively to pretend he wants to play positively, as many people lap it up and decide he deserves more time. He's came out with these soundbites many times in the last few years. Possible I suppose. I wouldn't say it benefits him massively, but you're right that could be the reason. It does benefit him massively, if he said that his only intention was to play negative, conservative football he'd be hounded out of the club.

Hahaha Harford is thick, ugly and shit but it would appear he's not completely stupid. Could they not have done this behind the scenes and avert yet more embarrassment like?

Yohan Cabaye (now sporting coordinator at Paris Saint-Germain)

I think he could but not under this klutz of a manager, he would look a lot better under Sir Bobby IMO. Speed was obviously the better player though. Not sure I'd agree that Speed was better. Speed was far, far more suited to the PL. He'd attack the ball, look to support the attack whenever he could, had a gorgeous range of passing and could tackle. Oh, I thought he meant Speed was better than Lee. I haven't seen enough from Cabaye yet to think he's better than either. Nah better than Cabaye mate, if you were to push me i'd say Lee is the best of the lot. Would be inclined to agree but it's very tight. Lee did a useful job as a holding player towards the end but prior to that he was one of the best all-round midfielders in the country. 2 exceptional NUFC servants. -

Pennywell Working Men's Club . Yeah. Oh, actually he's been at Millwall as a coach. Hope the compo isn't too hefty.

Did we have to fight off any other clubs to get Harford in?

Bent and Sissoko fighting it out for the number 10 role.

I can't believe this after we made Motherwell look ordinary the other night. -
If true, and given there is only the one source, signing Gomis can only be a positive regardless of the short sightedness of our transfer policy (of which I totally agree with). It's never going to change though, if anything Carr busted his flush too early with his 'value signings'. Agree it would be a positive signing this chap, would still be surprised if we're significantly stronger in forward positions next year though. If Jonas lines up as winger for us again next year then someone wants shot. The Cisse thing is a fucking nightmare too.
-
I think you're both right actually, we don't have enough scouts and as a result they're told to stick to the markets where we've had some success in terms of value. It's baffling that we're so shortsighted but it's another thing to add to the list with this club at the minute. Can't be arsed with it anymore, people at work ask me about next season and I tell them 11/1 for us getting relegated is amazing value, otherwise I'd rather talk to them about their clubs like Chelsea or whoever the fuck it is. Totally losing interest, everything we do is flawed and unambitious.
-
Funny how all clubs don't choose their favourite league and limit themselves to that market then. I think the model is limiting them to the market because the french league appears to offer the best value for money... We could find cheap, good players from other countries if we looked hard enough.

The obsession with the French market has become completely absurd like. Mix it up FFS. As far as I'm concerned it's worked so far so I see no need to stop doing it. Some scouts elsewhere would be handy but I've no problem with another French player coming in. We've recruited some brilliant talent from there (at absolute bargain prices). Like everything about the team, the problem doesn't lie with the (majority of) the players on the pitch. I disagree, I think it's unhealthy. We could do with a few other nationalities, not necessarily English.

It's cheap though, who wants to waste another few hundred grand a year having scouts in other countries? Honestly the total neglect for the bigger picture is unreal. Total fucking cowboy outfit.

I can't remember the last time Pardew strung 2 sentences together and I didn't have a problem with either sentence, he's an absolute fucking pleb.

Player making manager look good/less inept with press comments shocker.

People can keep saying that stuff until they're blue in the face but there does appear to be something going on here.
