I know bits of this have been quoted in recent days but reading the whole article is terrifying. Seems Ashley thinks Kinnear is a world beater: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1097439/Ashley-Kinnear-steer-Newcastle-Europe--hes-better-Capello.html

I'd say less white. We had Lacrosse at my black as hell school. We used to go to the white schools and just hit them with the sticks.

Mike Ashley is like that genie that grants wishes too literally. I just don't know where people got the idea Ashley had half a clue from. The scouting and some very good incoming transfers for me. Seemed he only needed to get the most important role at the club right and we were on to a winner. Won't make the same error again. The scouting was Carr and the criteria was that the players are cheap because Ashley won't spend. Give Carr proper money and lord knows what he could do. For me he made a monumental error in not investing properly in the summer, not sorting Ba's contract out and not replacing Ba. You won't find me disagreeing with any of that, I just thought there were signs we could get enough canny players in to make it work to some degree.

if that is his goal though, the idea is fucking genius...in fact he's basically sat and thought "why did keegan leave?" and then come up with a plan to repeat it if that's his goal...it's the best explanation i've heard tbh...the only one that makes sense It would probably have been cleverer not to have given the manager a daft contract when precisely nobody was calling for it in the first place mind.
-
I'm not sure genius is the right word, since he's running the club like a fucking muppet as he has most of the time he's been in charge.
-
It's incredible btw that the club are just letting him go speaking to radio, TV and newspapers without any official club statement coming out.

"Let's all laugh at Newcastle" time again. Going to end up reading/hearing this gobshite's bullshit on a daily basis like it wasn't enough the first time around.

Keep thinking of this article from May with regards to Pardew's contract: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/article-2320978/Mike-Ashley-pay-Alan-Pardew-10m-sacks-Newcastle-manager-year-deal-Charles-Sale.html One of the only journalists going against the grain of the contract being littered with clauses, but a reputable journalist who is usually well informed. I remember scoffing at the idea that Ashley would be daft enough to not put clauses in, but I've had my fingers burnt thinking "Ashley's not daft" too many times now.

Would be hilarious if Kinnear has essentially proven his unsuitability for any role at SJP before he's even started and bears the brunt of it.

I've banned people at work from talking to me about this today, have said I might be ready to talk about it in a few days.

See my sig bro. Parky, what the fuck have you done mate?

Fucking hell, Casillas getting his 146th cap at the age of 32. Could quite easily break 200.

How long before Wonga step in to block the move?

If true then it seems like yet another device to show that Ashley can do whatever the hell he likes. Wonder how many more years we're stuck with him.
-
Can't seem to find a video but a quick Google suggests he only got a 1 match ban, plus a £10k fine.

Aye, I rememeber watching that game at the Odeon when I was a kid. Was definitely an elbow and a headbutt, 2 separate incidents.

This is really good news, if his fitness gets back to his previous then he might just keep us up.

His passing doesn't need to be amazing in that role, he's useful for his energy if there are more creative players in there. If we finally sorted out the wide positions then I wouldn't be disappointed to see him used exclusively in the middle next season (not first choice though, mind) as his engine and professionalism are good qualities to have in the squad. Saying that, he shouldn't play one more game on the wing and I wouldn't be that disappointed at all if we decided to spend the money for his wages on a better player.

Jonas had his uses in the first season back up, he was still athletic enough to be a decent winger for a newly promoted team. It's been obvious for a while that he can only play in central midfield these days though, yet we've persevered with him out wide.
