  1. I genuinely feel like I don't have a lot of stress or hassle in my life that I can put down to being in London, I suppose I must just be used to it. When I first moved down here I thought it was pure bedlam though.
  2. Excellent post, only things I disagree with are about everything being expensive when in fact it's mainly the rent which is extortionate and also taking ages to get anywhere, as we live in a place with good transport links and can get to most places in 40 minutes, tops. As I say though, good post.
  3. The cunt quota is relatively high in some places, no doubt about it. Probably helps me that I have a couple of mates from home down here and also work with lots of lovely people around my age.
  4. Many, many northerners have "escaped" south as well actually, mainly with work as the main reason but there are lots down here nonetheless. And in terms of stuff most people like to do in their 20s - eating, drinking, generally getting entertained in one way or another - there is simply lots more to do down here and you therefore don't find yourself in the same old places. Not slagging off Newcastle because I love it and will go back when we're settling down but London gets a lot of stick simply because it's London IMO.
  5. Find that crazy tbh, you've got all sorts of fun on a plate here, it's impossible to get bored. Diverse mix of people too, plenty of which are just as sound as anywhere else when you get to know them.

    Alan Pardew

I'm not making my mind up until I've heard a transcript and the all-important tone of voice.
  7. Me too. Bimpy, I can't believe you just said that like, it's totally absurd. Name most interests or activities and you have 100 times more great options to do them in London than anywhere else in the country. I couldn't live in Newcastle right now, I'd get bored within weeks. Later on though, sure. I'm assuming the theatre thing is a joke, otherwise wow. The only thing I'm having against London is it's busy and some people are rude, otherwise it's generally people having a chip on their shoulder for the sake of it. In other news, I'm genuinely on the bus to the theatre to see a play now.
  8. Living in London's great man, I don't understand it when people say this sort of thing. Aye, it's proper shit having limitless amazing things to do with your time like.
  9. WTF's a goal miss? Oh God, it's just sunk in.

    Alan Pardew

Coming to you directly from the deepest alcove of Mike Ashley's hoop, it's Alan Pardew.
  11. Sorry, I just hate exclamation marks.
  12. Why did you do all the exclamation marks, HTT? Made the post absolutely fucking shit.

    Loïc Remy

Aye. Fuck me man, are you for real?
  14. And bankrupt the club? Yeah great idea that Dave. I really shouldn't even bother here like but clearly finding an extra couple of million for Gomis isn't the issue, the issue is what we think he's worth. And if they want more than we think he's worth? What will we do then? I know, we'll either buy nobody or somebody we rate less. And people like you think this is a great idea because then you've got "value" - meanwhile plenty of other clubs have paid the going rate for the players they actually wanted. I'm way out of date here but fuck it. Thierry Henry moved from Monaco to Juventus in January 2009 for £10.5m. It's generally agreed he didn't do much in the 6 months or so he was there, and became unsettled in Italy. Arsene Wenger decided to pay £11m in Summer 2009 for him despite him not particularly raising/maintaining his value and also the fact he was unhappy. They could have probably got him cheaper if they'd hummed and harred, they might have missed out but fuck it they might have got him cheaper. In summary: Arsene Wenger is an absolute fucking mug and it's a wonder Arsenal aren't bust. Paying players' values and not trying to mug off the selling club is an absolute fucking mug's game. It never works and generally leads to bankruptcy.
  15. Jokes, bro. Hey, he puts in a good shift. Plays consistently in any role you put him in. Can play with anyone. Doesn't need to be in a lone striker role to be effective. He was admittedly excellent in every position (and every game) he played in for us, but I dunno mate, I just prefer Darren Bent.
  16. I quite like the little blue stripes. On an otherwise nice kit it would look canny.
  17. The worst Puma shirt we've had was 100% the first one we had, in our first season back up. Probably the simplest one too, but it was fucking rank.
  18. You don't think he could do a good job for one of the top 4 or 5? I do, nee worries.
  19. Marveaux might have stamina issues but he does not have issues being fit for games, as seen last season when he was available for all but a handful. Ben Arfa is 100 times more injury prone than him going by the evidence of actual working eyes and a mind that works beyond clichés and Pardew's selections.
  20. Nah, that's not quite obvious whatsoever.
  21. Well i thought it might a bit, a few discussion about how pathetic we are bidding so little, when we haven't bid at all This thread is good fun though The news is we haven't bid because the bid we were prepared to make, of £2m, would be rejected, is it not? We must know what Villa would have done with our bid and what that bid was likely to be if we're saying our valuation and their's is 'miles apart'? £2m would be our max bid, we may well have bid lower than that if did get to that stage . I know what you mean though and it doesn't look good however. What's making me chuckle though, some were saying "sign Bent --- aargh he's shit, crap, one dimensional lalala, sums us up". A couple of weeks later, were a joke, sums us up, what a joke bid, lalala. It's just funny watching the mood change with every accurate and mainly inaccurate story. Posts like this are missing the point by a million miles. The point is that, like Bent or not, he appeared to be a target so why waste weeks and weeks on something that we're not even serious about. I'd have liked to have had the few reinforcements we need in weeks ago but we don't seem to have any urgency whatsoever. Whether that's part of Mission Wind Up Pards, I dunno. If you actually read the post instead of missing the point by a million miles, as you describe it. It wasn't about the £2m. It was about how the mood changes on here from report to report. Not just about Bent, i used that as an example, this thread is the most polarising of views thread at the moment imo. Be it opinions on Bent, his value and our non bid and the piss take value we came up with. I did read your post, I'm telling you why the mood has changed and it's not because anyone has changed their opinion on the ability of the player in order to be more negative. I don't buy that he was simply an alternative to Cisse, it seems a bit far fetched given everything that's been written and said about it for many, many months now. And also we are of course wasting time, we're wasting time every day we don't sign a forward - I'm not fussed if I don't have access to Kinnear' s phone records, it's plain to see that we've fannied about the whole summer so far, probably at the detriment of our chances next season. I like this post very much, especially the bit where you said sorry Bimps. I love you for it i really do I did really like it I'm sorry if I've hurt your feelings.
