520 all sat together at St James could make some noise like and thats not what we want. They are a fuckin joke the lot of them. He is the best manager we have had since SBR and is doing a fine job so far imo. My statistic was made up and is not official btw.

We've probably had 6 decent games this season in the league out of 22, we were playing a Championship side yesterday with 8 players who could be classed as first team players and we lost. It's also arguable about who is building the team, I'm not sure stability is that important as we're not seeing stability with one manager as we're changing our system during the season anyway. We started the season playing 4-4-2 and playing the long ball, we've now gone to a system which is 4-5-1 or 4-3-3 and I wouldn't be surprised if we see 4-4-2 on Wednesday. Why do we need stability? What does stability bring when the scouts find the players and we change formations during the season anyway? I can understand that the players get to like a manager and it’s unsettling for them to see him go but I don’t think anybody is suggesting that we change things now, I know I wouldn’t. We’re just over half way through the season and things might get better, we could find a settled side, playing good football and winning games. If that happens then nobody would want the manager replaced. I still think he has a lot to do to convince me that he’s anything other than average and lucky. I don't think anyone defines stability as being tactically inflexible.

Dear god that front six is amazing how we only finished 13th is beyond me. We were actually 14th that year I believe. Still have our league finishes memorised like a total fucking loser.
-
I don't think many fans would advocate getting rid of Pardew any time soon fwiw, maybe 1 out of 100.
-
I don't even mind Liverpool as much as some on here but they're rightfully becoming the most hated club in the country.
-
HTT does have a point about the players Pardew's got to work with like. Our backup options are shite on the whole though.
-
That depends on what you want and see long-term. Me, I see a rather mediocre future under Pardew which would be acceptable if we had mediocre players but we don't and I doubt we ever will under this set up. We look to sign good players that can only get better, for the youth sides all the way to the number 9 shirt itself. These good footballers don't tally with Pardew's football philopsphies which seem to be long ball and percentages football. It worries me when our manager considers Joey Barton wide left as a good decision, or Leon Best wide left. Or Ryan Taylor wide right at home to QPR in favour of Ben Arfa who a week prior had scored a wonder goal and generally terrorised the left-flank of the opposition. It worries me that despite seeing these good players week in week out in training he continues to deploy a long ball game which at times completely nulifies our strong area - midfield - while also playing into the opposition's hand up top with the listless Shola and Best combo that is so easy to defend against when the ball is launched long to them. Its a simple game for example. If you are to play Best and Shola up top they have to stay there and you have to put crosses in which means playing it wide quick and early with the full-backs pushing on. I'm no mug, I have a L3 coaches badge (for what its fucking worth by the way) so I know a little bit about tactics and the game, but surely nowhere near as much as Pardew who has played the game at the highest level and been a coach and manager for over a decade or so now, no?! This is why he scares me so much and forces me when judging his ability to come to these conclusions that long-term if we are to acheieve things, he is not and never will be the answer. He's all talk, a confidence trickster. He'd make a great salesman. Ironically, the reason he was appointed Responds to complaint about posts being too long with long post. http://i0.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/masonry/000/160/673/ScumbagSteveHat.png?1313097115 I wasn't really complaining, I was just reiterating a commonly made observation. I'm far too lazy to read long posts much of the time mind.

Your posts are so long, man. I don't like Pardew much but he's doing a better job than anyone else has for a while, so you of course stick with him.

Not much gets me genuinely howling with laughter but that did. Can't even work out why it's so funny.

7th, 17th, 4th, 11th, 6th, 5th, 5th, 8th, 7th - Everton's finishes in their full seasons under Moyes, very good imo.
-
Actually I'm wrong, presumed Brendan Rodgers was Welsh because he's manager of Swansea and I've somehow managed to largely avoid him. Still, 3 English managers in the top flight, terrible.
-
Moyes is much better than McClaren like imo. There's actually as many Welsh managers in the Premier League as there is English ones at the minute (3 of each).
-
Fergie is obviously world-class but Moyes, Dalglish et al are average or ordinary. I'd say as a whole British managers are not as good as their foreign counter-parts just like our footballers are not as good and I'd put that down to our mentality, culture and methods which start right athe very forefront of football - kids' football. Disagree tbh mate, Dalglish has won the lot as a manager and is on course to win another trophy with Liverpool this year and Moyes has done a phenomenal job overall at Everton although they do seem to be now stagnating at best right now. Paul Lambert seems a good one as well, then you've got the likes of George Graham who won loads at Arsenal and Matt Busby, Bill Shankley, Jock Stein as one of the comments under this half-decent article points out: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2011/apr/28/scotland-managers-bossing-premier-league For such a small country it's pretty crazy really.
-
Is Scotland's any better? Why do they produce so many good ones, relative to the size of the country?
-
Will be interesting to see what happens with Redknapp because I do think there's a decent chance of Pardew getting the England gig if Redknapp's no longer an option because of this tax stuff. A lot of people down my way who actually care about the England team are suddenly talking about Pardew as a serious candidate.
-
How much did we end up paying this joker then? I make it £6m fee + £3m per year over 4 and a half years = £19.5m. Nice one. See ya Alan.

Really pissed off we're out, not least because I'm really big on the cups. We need to win a trophy one day after all. However I responded to my dad's despondent text as follows and I meant it: Perhaps this is a blessing in disguise this year. If we can push on for 5th or 6th this year without any distractions, particularly with the African lads back soon, then fantastic. There's reasons to be cheerful. -
Senegal to Newcastle, they don't wear nipple tassels. See you in a bit.
-
Alternatively: The Demba boys are coming And everybody's jumping Senegal to Newcastle They're canny lads, no hassle Fucking shit these like.

The Demba boys are coming And everybody's jumping Senegal to St James's Nothing rhymes with St James's

Hahahaha, apparently one of my mates is trying to join N-O and it won't let him join until he answers how long the ban is for posting football clips.

Is racist abuse still an issue in North East football?
