Think last season he was reasonably solid, maybe because of Barton ahead of him, and got a lot of unfair criticism. This season he's been very poor, although he has obvious off the pitch issues to deal with. At the minute I'd rather have Ryan Taylor than him, couldn't imagine saying that 2 months ago. Must have completely missed this, what are his off the pitch issues?

Out of our 8 league games so far: Has came on as sub 1 time (46 mins) Subbed 3 times (once on 85 mins, once on 88 mins, once on 90 mins) Played the full 90 4 times Has clocked up a hell of a lot more minutes than I was expecting as I say.

Harsh. He hit it off balance on the turn, tough ask. From the slide, not from the shot. Fair play, I'd have to see it again. He doubtless didn't know it at the time but with the shot he actually had time to take a touch, turn and drill it at goal. Not being harsh like cos I'd have done the same but just pointing it out. Anyway he's superb and the way he's risen to the challenge of being NUFC captain is phenomenal. Clearly means a lot to him.

This, he frustrates the hell out of me. It's like having a much shitter version of Gutierrez on the other wing. I'm not saying he's got no future at all with us, but I didn't expect him to come in and play 90 minutes every week and nor should he.
