I get it’s daft to be sentimental in football but I hope for him that he gets over his injury and can contribute to the season and staying up. It’d be good for us, and also I’d want him to get the best move he can, if/when he leaves.

I like Murphy. He's direct, always tries to get the ball in the box and can actually put his foot through a ball. I was hopeful when he came on that someone would finally try to provide service to wood but I think we had gone off the boil by that point.

I’d be tempted if only because Rafa understands that Shelvey is done. I like Howe but probably mostly because he’s not an utter embarrassment like Bruce. He’s respectable and polite but the football is worrying.

How annoying it is that Rafa was interested in all avenues of the club and the city. I would like a manager to have this quality but I’d imagine it’s somewhat rare. I just hope if we get a top draw manager in that only cares about what happens on the pitch, there will be others at the club to oversee the development of other areas.
