I'm using his full stint at Newcastle as the basis for my opinion of his footballing ability. He runs. That's it. He can't do anything else a player in his position should be able to. If he can run that's still a lot more than many in our side contribute. Most of them avoid the ball like the plague in all fairness. Yep, on the odd occasion when Jonas does run with the ball I get excited, even if it only lasts a second, it gets me off my seat. For that moment I believe I might actually be getting my moneys worth because everyone else, bar the obvious few, are awful to watch.

Apart from when he tried to dribble past about 4 players out of defence. Nearly did it too. I remember thinking he looked really fast when he did it. There was a bit later when he did take on a few players from the sideline to get free, looked classy then.

No, he's playing Butt and Smith in the same midfield because they are both senior pros and it won't do to upset the main men. You would have thought Hughton getting the manager spot would give him some confidence in dropping the likes of Butt. He has nothing to fear, he has the job now.
