Would it? We had a queue of over 40k for the members resale of our Liverpool match yesterday. We have a membership number of approximately 100k. We have as many members applying for tickets each match, as we have season ticket holders, if not more.

Well in recent articles we have heard that people involved with it, both at the club, and with 3rd parties, have all had to sign NDA’s. I think even council workers have had to sign them. We have also seen many journalists who cover the club change their attitude from wanting a SJP extension/rebuild, to a new stadium.

I don’t think it is though. Barca and Real Madrid have rebuilt their stadiums recently, and their capacity is greater than what they initially had, and they weren’t regularly selling out, outside of El Classico. Arsenal don’t visually sell out the Emirates either, and in recent weeks they have announced that they are looking into expanding. Even the Milan clubs are circling back to having a new super capacity San Siro, over building their own smaller stadiums. To cut the story short, Taylor Swift (and others) sell out stadiums. The clubs want that income. I recently read an article on it, and they were literally calling some of the new stadiums being built as Swiftdomes. Don’t get me wrong, I think we would struggle to sell out 90k-100k, but at 80k I’d expect us to either sell out, or come fairly close to doing so (so long as the club continues to show some ambition). I also think that if we do get say an 80k capacity stadium, we’ll only see a max of 10k additional season tickets available. All in all, I think they have already made their decision, they likely settled on it after the initial feasibility study, and likely had it as a plan going into it.
  4. I think it was in an interview with one of the board members. I can’t find the link, but they said it was a record kit launch for us, and that’s literally all they said. No facts, figures, or any other indication.
  5. Elite status has everything to do with how much merchandise you are able to sell. Roma are going to be joining the elite status next season, and they are hardly winning major trophies. I also think Benfica are joining, and they have a huge following in Latin America, but have went off the boil over the last few years. Ajax are rumoured to join the season after next, and obviously they are the default Dutch team, and like Benfica, have went off the boil in recent years. Without revealing the figures, the club has said that we have had a record breaking year for shirt sales. Castore increased our options on tracksuits and other merchandise, but this year’s Adidas stuff has taken it to another level. With our Adidas deal rumoured to be about £40m, that would mean that we have to sell half a million shirts at £80 just to directly break even.
  6. Have you seen Forests’ next fixtures? Arsenal A Ipswich H Man City A Man Utd A Aston Villa H Brentford A Tottenham H
  7. Honestly, it’s no different to a shop assistant thinking a certain customer is a prick, going out the back and telling their colleagues, or going home and doing so. So long as you are professional when dealing with that customer, no one gives a fuck. He’s entitled to his opinion, he’s made it worse by adding the bit about Klopp being German, which will gain accusations of racism, and the stuff about Liverpool/Scousers, which will bring them on. If he said this about any other manager, any other club, then it would have been swept under the carpet by now.
  8. That referee also survived rumours/revelation that he quite literally, liked it doggy.
  9. The wider stuff about Liverpool, Scousers, and bringing Klopp being German into is the real damage. The stuff about Liverpool/Scousers should go down as a Man Utd fan having football banter than any football fan does, however we all know that they will victimise themselves as this being proof of genuine discrimination.
  10. Aye he did, gave Man Utd the free kick which wasn’t even a foul which lead to their goal, which also looked a bit offside.
  11. Aye, to be fair if he never mentioned him being German beforehand, what he says isn’t all that bad.
  12. I honestly think that we deserved a point in our league game against them. Our shit defending let us down, but so did our finishing. We should be sitting here with at least a draw against them, knocking them out of the cup, and beating both Arsenal, and Forest in the last 2 weeks.

Player who was captain of a team challenging for the Premier League title a couple of seasons ago would be a great addition to a Championship side now shock revelation.
  14. Bunch of smug patronising arsehole fans. ‘We’d never sell to Saudis’ Aye right, easy to say when you live in middle class South London built on the back the work of the rest of country, and further funded by Russia, Abu Dhabi, Chine, and every other fucking nation.
  15. If it was purely investment, you wouldn’t buy a football club. Ok values can rise, but generally you have to put in just as much for that to grow. I don’t think it is purely investment, maybe initially from PCP it was, but I think Amanda made it clear after doing the Manchester City deal, she wanted to own/run a club. I think circumstances have changed, and she doesn’t want to do that anymore, PCP was pretty much neglected whilst she did. From the Reuben’s, they are wanting soft power/to get in to bed with the council. They own about a quarter of the city in property, much of it which needs regenerating. They need to have a relationship with the council, or some leverage. NUFC does that. We all know why Saudi want to own us, the same reason why Abu Dhabi own Manchester City, and Qatar own PSG.
  16. I can see us being given an invite to join, but not being part of the founding members discussion. No doubt the same clubs who are trying to prevent us from blowing everyone in the Premier League, will want to do so in an ESL as well. Despite what Staveley said, if the discussions happened again, we would be interested. The fans won’t, but the owners and people running it will be. Maybe we’d use it as leverage in the Premier League though. I do worry, and think that it’s only a matter of time before the ESL raises It’s ugly head again.

That would seem daft. Newcastle Thunder only get something like 200 fans, and aren’t in the Super League. Seems pointless to limit the Stack to less than 10% of it’s capacity, especially when Super League clubs fans often mingle with each other before, during, and after games.

Yeah, I think this is the 2nd time that they have tried to move it away from Newcastle, and it’s failed. I think the fact that we are not on the M62 Super League corridor, helps with attendances. Fans have to come up, and usually have to stay the night or 2. It is pointless coming up to only see your team play. Stocking it in Leeds is within normal commuting distance for most of the clubs, so they are able to treat games as a normal home game.

Rugby Leagues Magic Weekend is coming back to SJP in May next year.
  20. Only just heard about this mate. My deepest sympathies goes out to you and your family.

In all fairness, they beat Burnley, and got a draw (lucky last minute equaliser) against Leeds, both of whom are this seasons favourites. The question is always going to be if they can sustain it, but if you are playing badly, whilst wither being a man down, or losing one of your key players to suspension and can still get draws away from home, then you are still doing well. Like I said, it will be down to if they can sustain it, and if they drop out of the top 2, how they respond.
  22. The hope was that in order to try and stay under what others are earning, to make it look like fair value, you would overcompensate and leave yourself well short of others.
  23. From last season. No one is a fan of it.

As I said though, you aren’t just demolishing 1 stand. If we work on SJP, it is going to be a rebuild. We are then talking about adjusting the footprint, and moving the pitch. At the very least, you would have 2 stands down at any stage.

To be honest though, we have already been told that even if it’s an extension, it will be more like a rebuild, and that really, a rebuild is the ‘minimum option’. Even taking away the Metro station complications, it won’t be a case of doing what was done for the Leazes end.
