Going into the transfer window after we sold Minteh, and Anderson, we were told that we had to make something like a £15m profit on players this year, however we made a £60m bid for Guehi, so that is £12m more on top of that. We know that we have no players to sell, unless we sold someone like Bruno, Isak, or Gordon, which would then put us a step back regardless.

The reality to me is that people would be very happy for Hall to be given permission to film a biopic at SJP. I’m of the firm belief that a reporters job is to break the news, not make it. Somewhere along the lines it has changed to make the news, or give an opinion piece, but present it as news/investigative journalism. I think there are far too many who fall into the latter, especially in football.

In light of Staveley and Ghodoussi going, we need a public face to the club. The good indication so far is that the women’s team where money is no issue, hasn’t been an issue for investment, and we also do seem to be making strides with our academy recruits which is similar.

Probably good for us in the long term. The Premier League is no longer the go to League.
