  1. It looks like Juventus will take a voluntary European ban for 1 season. Fiorentina will take their place in the Europa Conference League, and despite them reaching the final last season, and Juventus being scheduled to be seeded, they will miss out on being seeded, which will take Aston Villa from the unseeded section, to the seeded bracket. Athletic Bilbao are also expected to take Osasuna’s place, although whichever club does take Spains allocated space, would be unseeded.

Sunderland is weird. There is a place not far outside the city centre where you have amazing Georgian architecture homes and some great 30’s style semi-detached homes. If they were along Tynemouth people would be in awe of them. The FSA actually have their offices there. Then you cross Mobray road and you are in a complete fucking shit hole. Seaburn, again is nice, never actually visited the place but had to drive through and do work around there. The river area is getting getting a lot of attention. New hotels, offices, a new car park, and they are building a new bridge over to the SOL, which it’s area has some decent plans for. Next to the new bridge they are on about building one of the UK’s largest recording/filming studios. You go to the shopping area though and it makes Shields Road in Byker look like it has something going for it. Go to what they call the East End and again it’s a tip. Recently someone invested a lot of money and time turning an old pub into a curry house. They obviously wanted to do it well, sings actually looked welcoming etc. They must have spent double the amount of time doing work on the building than it actually being open, and now the building is back on the market with all the windows (which they had just turned to double glazing) have all been smashed in. It’s quite apt because it alludes to Sunderland actually adhering to the broken window hypothesis. ‘Windows around here are smashed so I’ll smash more.’ ‘The Metro service we get doesn’t go to where we need it too, and isn’t reliable, so I’ll smash the fucking thing.’ It’s obviously not just Sunderland that adhere’s to that mentality, but that mentality is quite rampant in areas of Sunderland. Far too many people there have the thought process that for Sunderland to succeed, Newcastle has to fail. There is some of that mentality in some our muppets, but over there it largely does appear to more apparent. As it happens though I actually think that a lot of people who live in Sunderland and it’s suburbs are more realistic and less hostile towards Geordies, than the Sunderland fans who identify as mackems who are from places like Washington and South Tyneside.

Might be in with a chance if they miss out on that Inter keeper, although I guess they would probably go for Pickford ahead of him.

    Losing to Gateshead now.
  6. Why would they have it on NUFC TV if it doesn’t sell out. You are just encouraging people not to come.
  7. Last years membership has expired, and this years has not went on sale, so I have been stung with a £1 booking fee. It’s my sisters 40th party on the Saturday, so I’m only able to go on the Sunday.
  8. Fucking shit how they have announced and released tickets at the same time. Could possibly be people who wanted to go who miss out before they even know anything about it.

Have they tried looking for it where they last had it? In all seriousness though, it’s no problem, because the ones at Boldon, Gateshead, Metrocentre, Silverlink, Jamjar Whitley Bay, Newgate Street West Sandyford, Cramlington are all in MLF strongholds.
  10. The Echo is a Reach outlet, the same company who owns the Mirror, the Chronicle and loads more local newspapers around the country. That article is simply copied and pasted or double linked from the Chronicle onto their other websites, probably because we are Premier League rival to two of Liverpools clubs. They will probably have it dotted about elsewhere.
  11. Absolutely can’t wait for the ITK wankers to claim it’s the 3rd kit.
  12. I thought the Glazers had decided not to sell?
  13. Man Utd, Liverpool, Rangers, and Celtic all have club stores in Belfast, not sure if they do in Dublin or not.

The blue house in Hendon? Work takes me past there and for 2 years I was convinced that it had been abandoned. It wasn’t until I drove past one time and just so happened to see a couple of people walking in that I realised that it’s open.
  15. Surely though you are highlighting the difference between racism and xenophobia? Xenophobia to me is when someone has been fed lies and believes the lies and fears other races. Racism is knowing between the lies and hating people of other races. I think my stepdad is xenophobic. He is one of these ones who shares the bullshit all over Facebook about immigrants coming here to takeover. His view is because he has spent decades surrounded by racists at work, in the social club, reading the Sun, and more recently it being all over his Facebook feed. I don’t think he hates anyone, he’s just been caught up in all the bullshit and has heard it so much that he believes/fears it to be true.
  16. That’s my point though. The argument wouldn’t be that nation states shouldn’t own football clubs, it would be ‘I don’t want my taxes funding a football club’.

I’ve known people at uni as well as worked with uni students who are out of 1st year who have lived in blocks all across the city centre. Only some of them are for 1st year students, I think Ricky road blocks, the ones next Lipman at Northumbria, and some near Stepney bank are the ones who are for 1st year students, and to be fair anyone outside of 1st year wouldn’t want to stay in any of them. My former flat mate stayed in the ones at Stepney bank and you had to go through turnstiles to get on and out. She said it was actually like being in a prison. Many of the new ones are great though. They even have restaurants and can get things like breakfast plans etc.
  18. Still spending the Keegan money.
  19. People only say this because it’s the Middle East countries who own football clubs. If the U.K. government bought Man Utd, other than non-Man Utd fans, there would be no debate really. Most Russian and Ukrainian clubs originated under the guise of different government departments. German clubs originated under big companies, many of whom are global brands/conglomerates, Bayer, VW, Mercedes. The same applies to PSV in the Netherlands. Honestly I‘m past the point of giving a fuck anymore. If people don’t like being owned by Saudi’s then fine, shut up and let those who do enjoy it get on with it. On the same note, those who are not bothered shouldn’t be chastising those who don’t, which happens on social media.
  20. Looks decent, but I’m not chucking £70 at it. I might get it either when it gets reduced in price, or a DH gate version.
  21. Needs to kick off at 3pm on the Friday.
  22. I think someone on Twitter was saying or insinuating that he’s been caught trying to groom underage girls, they were making reference to that Hollie lass.
  23. Was on the radio, PSG owners have also been sniffing.
