  1. Sports Direct is in the US?
  2. I still argue that the English FA rebuilding Wembley was a massive waste. Money would have been better off giving clubs grants to get theirs grounds up in order and to help fund some clubs to increase capacity. It would have had a knock on effect for clubs who could have brought more fans in, as well as increasing the amount of venues around the country for England games. Smaller clubs could have used it to make their stadiums or individual stands more up to code. It makes the situation worse when it’s cheaper and often just as quick for a lot of the country to fly or get a ferry to other countries and watch more ‘elite’ teams for less. Do you want to go and see the likes of Barcelona, either Madrid team, PSG, Benfica, Bayern/Dortmund, and Ajax play, or do you want to pay 3 times as much to watch England piss over Andorra? Fucking Scotland are on about rebuilding Hampden as well. Just learn the lesson and give up on it.
  3. He’s friends with Carla though, who is best friends with them. It’s hardly a surprise.

We absolutely do not. Newcastle University has about 20k undergraduate students. Northumbria has a total of 32k students, with the vast majority being undergraduates. Over the last 20 years there has been a call to get the students out of places like Jesmond, Heaton, Sandyford, and Gosforth. This is so they can free up housing that is used for student flats, to families. This is why there has been a few student accommodation blocks built, but it’s nowhere near enough. There is similar stores in every city, with residents complaining that students are renting flats that locals can live in, and then complaining about purpose built student accommodation being built. Students can’t win, and are becoming a scapegoat for people to blame the housing market and also social problems on. For what it is worth, without students then whatever sort of economy Newcastle has after 5pm, wouldn’t exist, nor would we have anywhere as much multicultural that we do have (although you can still say that’s lacking).

Because they were originally houses. Student accommodation was more aligned with its original intended purposes than offices. They also had to replace all the lost architectural elements internally that was lost during it’s on version to offices which happens before laws came into place forbidding such conversion and loss of architectural integrity.

The side facing the east stand is student accommodation, and owned by Newcastle University. It used to be offices for the university, but they were converted back a little while back. The other side has private houses on it. The club don’t need to buy them in anyway, and regardless of this, you would struggle to gain a change of use for them.

Ever seen the Hermes building in Amsterdam?
  9. He was never ITK though was he? I’m sure he first came to the forefront with the BZG takeover saga and claimed to know people involved.
  10. Aye, I bet Staveley is going to take some time out, go on walks with slow sad music playing in the background, looking at her reflection in a lake thinking if she has done well with her signings. ’Yes, yes I have, time to buy more’
  11. Can you not view it on your phone and cast it to your TV? Or do you have a browser on your TV?

This. I’ve never really been there to visit, but I have to drive through it often. It actually looks decent, and looks to have better sea front facilities than say Whitley Bay. To be fair there is lots of places that are nice in Sunderland, they have a lot of good Georgian styled homes and a lot of 30’s to 50’s properties. You can go round the corner from these places and be somewhere that is as rough as anywhere you have seen. They also have a lot of nice parks dotted about in the suburbs. The town centre though is nothing more than a giant Byker though. It really needs investments, and it’s getting some along the south side of the river and at SOL, but the retail core is completely done, and could do with pulling down.
  13. My preferred option would be to stay at SJP. In reality though, we are only ever going to be able to expand the Gallowgate end. The East stand is too close to Leazers Terrace, and St James Terrace, and we can’t move the foot print of the stadium West as we have Barrack road there. We could expand over Strawberry place. I was watching a documentary about the railway yards in New York and how they are building skyscrapers above them with beams over the railways lines which means there is no support beams disrupting the lines. It is possible if you have money, which you would imagine we do now. You could even move Strawberry Road south to just outside the Sky call centre. The problem is though, a Gallowgate expansion probably isn’t giving you the amount of seats you need. It possibly isn’t giving you the amount of corporate seats you need either. It also won’t be giving you as much concourse space as you need now either, especially in the East stand. If those are things that we must have moving forward, then a new stadium is the only option, and at that point you are looking at Leazers Park.
  14. One of the best goals ever. How it’s not an all time great, I’ll never know.
  15. You deserve it for getting any sort of currency when you sold us Butt, Smith, and Obertan.

The Spurs stadium is lush, but I get what you mean with the exterior. However for it’s location, it works. That exterior wouldn’t really work at Leazers Park, but something like the Lucas Oil Field exterior would. Everything else done at Spurs’ new stadium works well.
  17. In all fairness as MBS is ultimately the owner of us, it means that their owner has went to their games 2 times, where as ours never has.
  18. There is no money return on Twitter, but journalist use it as a link to their articles, and YouTubers use it as a link to their YouTube pages.
  19. He’s desperate to hit an account that stumbles across something. He’ll create a new one, try many shots in the dark, and hope he’s right so he can claim he is and get the credit. He usually just burns through them though as people start knowing who he is, and also he gets it wrong too many times to have any credit. During lockdown and when the news of the takeover first came out he created one account, asked if anyone had any inside info in the takeover and either he just rolled with it and started talking nonsense, or someone actually had him fished in his DM’s. Anyway he started claiming he knew when it was complete etc, then stated tagging the clubs account and abusing them for not announcing the takeover, because he knew for a fact that it was completed a week earlier. He created another account, and with one of his accounts he was being friendly with Keith Patterson @Whitley mag with one account, and slating him with another, whilst sticking up for him with his friendly account by actually slating his other account.
  20. You can’t escape the shit of his accounts or others like him. As soon as Twitter knows that you are an NUFC fan, it just pushes them onto you, or other people like his stuff etc.
  21. Fuck sake, just had to block another of Burnsie’s accounts. Absolute fucking dick. Why does he need to create new ones all the time?

  23. Fair enough, must have been wires crossed and they must have been on about rumours or something. Anyway I wish them all the best of luck. I took my nieces the woman’s match the weekend before lockdown. I want them to grow up knowing that they can do what they want and gender doesn’t/shouldn’t play a part. My sisters oldest now plays Rugby, and my sister used too when she was a teenager.
